Secretary General of the Council of Ministers: civil society organizations constitute the cornerstone of the democratic structure in Iraq

Said  the Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers Ali Mohsen Ismail on the need to involve civil society organizations in the rebuilding of the country all areas according to new practices based on respect for the citizen.

This came during a meeting with representatives of civil society organizations in a number of provinces in the presence of Director General of the Department of NGOs in the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers to discuss the project activating the mechanisms of communication and partnership between government institutions and civil society organizations in Iraq.
The secretary-general said that the government is going to follow the principle of decentralization of the public to approach and give him a real role by actively involving them in the development plans and planning processes and policy strategy, as well as rid the government institutions of hereditary totalitarian and bureaucratic.

He briefed the Secretary General on the recommendations for the Fund to support organizations and motivate government institutions around the simplification of procedures for civil society organizations and participate in national initiatives, pointing to the importance of preparation guide includes the nature of the work of organizations both according to its competence in order to connect them through the provision of adequate information about the role of each organization and the scope of work.
