Sabah al-Saadi, an independent parliament member said in a press conference held at the building of the Council of Representatives and attended by "Shafaq News" that “the chief prosecutor has referred Judge Medhat al-Mahmoud to the High Criminal Court" a judicial body considers the crimes of the former regime. The reason behind such referral is that al-Mahmoud accused of "criminal crimes against humanity," al-Saadi said. The accountability and justice committee de-baathified al-Mahmoud one day post his dismissal from office as the Head of the Supreme Judicial Council.
