  1. Nope I did not post the currency auction ... someone had already done that ... they neglected to point out a few things though ... like oil is way up $91.42 at this hour up over 6%! Dated Brent Spot near $107. Notice WTI Cushing's price is Friday's. How about the 25 degree incline since Syndey open ... gold over $1400 again Now ... I didn't see a real reason to post this morning ... there doesn't seem to be any depth to the news articles ... while the rumors section is the "wild west" ... I don't think anyone wants me to go speculating there ... we are all capable of getting on the roller-coaster ... I'm trying to help folks stand on the ground and watch. But ... while DV members are holding their collective breath ... answer me this ... yes, I understand the unrest in the Middle East and what it does to oil ... but tell me again ... what do we call the "perfect storm"? Peace Doc31 links kitco.com and bloomberg.com ... for you purists ... lol
  2. That's a bunch of DOLLARS from colored toilet paper folks!
  3. You guys gotta' give me some time ... it takes a while to read, write, and publish ... big ears? ... lol Here it is http://dinarvets.com/forums/index.php?/topic/55492-cbi-currency-auction-2202011/
  4. Currency Auctions Announcement No. (1838) The latest daily currency auction was held in the Central Bank of Iraq on the 20-FEB-2011. The results were as follows: DetailsNotesNumber of banks18 Auction price selling dinar / US$1170 Auction price buying dinar / US$----- Amount sold at auction price (US$)192,961,000 Amount purchased at Auction price (US$)----- Total offers for buying (US$)192,961,000 Total offers for selling (US$)----- Exchange rates Dollar's exchange rates / in Baghdad markets Well there goes a perfectly good theory all blown to heck ... isn't it Z? ... lol ... I know it's a breath through a reed but I would have loved to have seen no auction today. Oh well ... what ya' gonna' do? Oil up at Friday's close Gold too Zeroes ... near as they continue to take the small breaths ... Cash portion only 1.469M or .76% aka miniscule. The news this morning has a whole different tone ... sort of a government going about it's business doing what governments do. I agree that we haven't seen Iraq do much of that but go to the news section and just open it up and peruse the articles. At least at this hour it looks like that. The civil unrest articles this morning are few ... I guess the one that troubles me most is this one Maliki: Protests do not worry Iraq Government ... seriously? ... it looks to all the world that your citizens patience has run dry ... spurred on by geopolitical uprisings in neighboring countries which didn't always work out well for those in charge ... it looks as though the situation MAY have reached near "critical mass" ... I understand appearing to be strong as a leader ... to give the impression that what the citizenry have planned to use as a "stick" to prod their government out of their year long luncheon doesn't worry the PM ... that is a different ballgame! Yes, I understand that in the Middle East things happen slow as molasses ... ask Mubarak how that worked out for him. Summit to be held on Time.. Okay ... ya' might want to "push the button" aka "pull the trigger" on the RI/RV in the not too distant future or you've been promised by your populous that there won't be anywhere for the delegations to stay, meet, eat, or drink and that their LZ would be "hot" ... I'm thinking not such a big selling point on having it there again! Government officials generally aren't big on flack jackets and danger don't ya' know! I just went over the news again and honestly ... other than the previous two I don't see anything to comment on. If you haven't read Frank26's Thursday chat I would recommend it. It's the biggest compilation of ... and I want to be careful how I categorize this ... but it is the biggest compilation of "stuff" ... some intel, some supposition, some news, some conclusions drawn, some media broadcasts, etc. .... all drawn into a picture to TRY and put a face on the puzzle before us. Like him or don't ... it is still true. If you don't like Glenn Beck ... skip past it ... if you don't like (__________) ... skip that. But he does give a perspective that can be used by ANYONE to keep their feet on the ground while WATCHING the rollercoaster! My point is that regardless of where we get a useful idea of what is going on ... it is still useful. His Thursday chat post ads perspective to an otherwise confusing situation. There isn't any reason for me to rehash those points ... and anything that gives us perspective is useful ... yes?! Read it or don't ... I'm not your Mom! I do want to point out something weird though. I've told you over and over that I have no imbeds, govt officials here or their, no boots on the ground ... nada. So when I woud hear a story ... it was 15th hand or worse! In the past 2 weeks ... every day ... yes, I said every day I get phone calls with 2nd or 3rd hand info. No, I'm not saying that I'm betting the farm on them and I haven't even shared them with anyone but my group who understands that I am uncertain of their accuracy/authenticity and that I always tell them that ... "that and a $1.79 will get you a cup of coffee at 7/11!" In other words ... I have no idea if it's true or not! But to go from 15th hand to 2nd and 3rd hand info ... what's up with that? What I'm trying to say is that I believe something has to be up when the common fellow has that kind of info. I'm headed to church but will stop back in later B4 the race. Picking order out of chaos is actually easier than picking the truth out of quiet waters (especially when you know it's not that quiet). I hope I've done someone some good this morning ... if not ... you'll forgive me please. Peace Doc31
  5. It looks as though oil and gold are finishing where they started out this morning ... looks as though everyone is in the same wait and see mode ... or was that "show me the money"? ... I forget! Peace Doc31
  6. No auction today ... Friday (normal closed date) Oil jumped up yesterday ... let's see how it closes the week (today) Gold creeping up the last 3 days ... again, lets see where it ends up at close today Zeroes ... no auction ... shallow breathing mechanism (or whatever you want to call it) is still being utilized although yesterday was the largest cash portion since Oct 6th Take a peek at this: Look at the turn that oil made yesterday and then look at dated Brent crude ... $103.40 ... wow Only a few minutes to do this but let's see what's in the news ... our news-hounds are knocking it out of the park ... goodness ... please thank these folks ... you do realize that without what they do that this site wouldn't be what it is ... I say thanks to you all. Ahhhh the smell of normal news Iraq fines Zain $262 M for breaching license ... a Kuwaiti tel-com provider overstepped their license agreement and get their hand slapped (hard). And Iraq Exports 2.163 Million B/D Of Oil In Feb Okay that's it ... that' all the normal news there is ... lol ... there's a bit more but not much ... what I was aiming at showing is the disproportionate amount of articles referencing civil unrest. Ok al-Maliki sends a delegation instead of going to meet protesters in Kut ... nah, gonna' leave that alone Five or more articles on Sulaimani Violence widely condemned as President orders investigation PUK politburo issues statement on Sulaimani incident Contradictory remarks over the authority deploying protection forces in Sulaimaniya Peshmerga forces arrive in Sulaimaniya Kurdish guards fire on protest in Iraq, killing 2 Arab Summit NOT rescheduled, postponed, or moved ... hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm Iraqis call for demonstration in Baghdad's Tahrir (Liberation) square Friday, Feb. 25th http://en.aswatalira...e&id=140883&l=1 US Treasury Spends Valentines Day in Iraq Meeting to decide on budget bill before Sunday finalizing ... point #1 working Saturday ... point #2 finalizing budget Sunday ... hmmmmmmmm Sadrite Trend: put forward candidates for security ministries to the parliament a positive step ... works for me I don't know folks ... I really hope that by Monday you can't buy anymore dinar at the 1170 rate ... but I'm veteran enough to know that we've seen a lot of positive signs before and come back with nothing. I do think that the Iraqis setting a date out in front for a protest demonstration bodes poorly for the GOI if they fail to listen ... seems like music to my ears. We will see. Yep, I do realize that this is all of the news that they will let us see. And we should be watching what they do ... not what they say. Keep your feet on the ground and "watch" the roller-coaster! Peace to all have a good weekend. Doc31
  7. Yep ... I hit the publish button and walked out the door. About 30 seconds later I asked myself if I had put a question mark at the end of the sentence and wondered exactly how I had phrased it ... did I say "perhaps"? I just walked in and began to grumble ... I meant to ask it not say it ... "perhaps this is the big note recall date?!" Obviously there are other conclusions: 1) "W" never expected it to go this long (best guess 6-12 months prior) 2) as Darin pointed out ... it COULD be reinstated 3) does it need to be reinstated though? Do I need a presidential order to buy/hold Euros or Pounds? vendors ... another story? 4) it could be the last day that it would be sold (unless it is internationally traded of course) 5) (you fill this in) Darin I enjoyed your contribution ... I don't know about you but I cast a skeptical eye at "drop dead" dates ... based on what was said prior to June 15 by the UNSC AND from what we see from the "zero cash" portion of the auction ... June 15 WAS the UNSC "drop dead" date for the IQD RI/RV ... however, I would lovvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvve to be wrong! Peace Doc31
  8. Currency Auctions Announcement No. (1837) The latest daily currency auction was held in the Central Bank of Iraq on the 17-FEB-2011. The results were as follows: DetailsNotesNumber of banks15 Auction price selling dinar / US$1170 Auction price buying dinar / US$----- Amount sold at auction price (US$)163,225,000 Amount purchased at Auction price (US$)----- Total offers for buying (US$)163,225,000 Total offers for selling (US$)----- Exchange rates Dollar's exchange rates / in Baghdad markets Oil low but stable currently Gold running in a $9 channel presently Wow the cash portion was $3.1M ... this is the largest since Oct 6th, 2010 it represents 1.89% and that is with only 15 banks participating and moderated volume. I know ... it's not the 12% of pre-October 7th but it is the largest since. Just a thought for you conspiracy theorist and you know who you are! Tomorrow there will not be an auction ... yes ... yes ... and Monday is Presidents Day in America (48 hours of no auctions then an American holiday on Monday) ... so maybe ... just maybe they are getting one last gulp before ... lol ... I'm sorry ... and I am not making fun of ... because part of me says MAYBE ... the other part says "been here before" ... doesn't standing on the ground watching the roller-coaster give much more perspective? I just couldn't resist setting that up. No time this morning At a glance ... the news is either al-Maliki's visit to Kuwait or civil unrest The thing that concerns me most is that al-Maliki would allow the unrest to continue to escalate ... I know, hold on ... it's not smart ... ask Mubarak ... the solution is simple, it is our blessing ... we are acutely aware of that ... I've had calls from all over telling me that the only thing left to do is "push the button" (aka pull the trigger) the GOI and budget are all actually done (who knows) ... but al-Maliki has a reported 3000 (some say 4200) secret police and Amnesty International says six or seven secret prisons (I forget exactly). Ask yourself ... what would Marshall Law do to our investment. I know why would an elected guy (ok ... sort of) allow a situation to escalate to that level? Yes ... I know ... IMO ... the powers that be wouldn't sign on for that nor allow it to go that long. Frank26 says that presidential order 13303 expires May 21st ... uh, huh ... there's your big notes back in date. Gotta' run Peace Doc31
  9. There is NO AUCTION today as this is a holiday in Iraq ... one calendar shows Wednesday the 16th as Mawlid al-Nabi but the other says today is Mouland. The reason that I am posting this is that for the next few days I will be unable to read much of anything much less post ... nope, not sick ... previous engagement. If someone could take up the slack and post the actual auction results with oil and gold and a synopsis of the zeroes would be appreciated. It just undoes me when someone's complete CBI Currency Auction post says "nothing changed ... it's the same"! ... how much thought and time was put into that? ... Please! Gold $9 spike at the London open ... currently running sideways at $1372 Oil SITTING ... $85.22 The news says that the "clown watch" continues ... I just read Frank26 chat from last night ... I'm not your Mom ... read or don't Gotta run ... just didn't want any rumors to get started and hope someone will post in my absence ... KingFish, Dbl Dinar, XXXGator or ... Peace to all Doc31
  10. It is actually the perpetuation of the Arab welfare states that exists in nearly all of the oil rich middle east. It does quell unrest. Stay home, keep quiet and draw a check.
  11. Excellent catch! With our Presidents day the 21st it's actually a “shock absorber” kind of weekend … 17th holiday 18th holy day 19th weekend 20th start of their week but not ours 21st Europe and Asia are open for business but America is not 22nd the world … this is a Zantac setup weekend! Nice job … I like the phraseology! Main-lining espresso … I love it Saleh/Salih … exactly Hadn't considered it a nose rubbing … have to think about it a bit Peace my friend Doc31
  12. Currency Auctions Announcement No. (1835) The latest daily currency auction was held in the Central Bank of Iraq on the 14-FEB-2011. The results were as follows: DetailsNotesNumber of banks16 Auction price selling dinar / US$1170 Auction price buying dinar / US$----- Amount sold at auction price (US$)187,159,000 Amount purchased at Auction price (US$)----- Total offers for buying (US$)187,159,000 Total offers for selling (US$)----- Exchange rates Dollar's exchange rates / in Baghdad markets Oil off but poised ... ask yourself if high oil prices had been served up for months on end and the clown continued to misbehave ... would you continue to orchestrate for him or swat his hand? Gold took a $14 nose-dive and is now running in a $6 channel Zeroes ... only near ... as the cash portion was 2.129M of 187.159M or 1.13% ... not a snooz-fest but hardly pre-Oct 7th 12.5%. Moderate volume with 16 banks participating. As I started to write this morning ... I realized that I didn't have a great deal to say and that I don't want to take your time. I will say that after writing yesterday about encouraging others I received numerous phone calls with what I'll call 3rd hand information (wouldn't dare call it intel) ... now what is so amazing about this is that ... well, I've always told you that I have no imbeds in the middle east, no bankers there, no boots on the ground ... not even any military, government nor even bank contacts in the US ... yep, it's just me ... so for me to be getting 3rd or 4th hand info was astounding! Heretofore it was 15th to 30th hand info (yep, gonna bet the farm on that ... lol). Seriously, is it so close that info is raining down on common folk? I was encouraged by the things that I had received previously to my post yesterday ... after yesterdays calls ... well, let's just say my batteries have been fully charged. Does encouragement breed encouragement? ... yes, but usually not the kind with info attached to it! Praise God! Ok ... a quick glance at the news ... Ok ... we are told that Parliament is 2 (some say three) seats short ... then they fill 8 is it? but not 4? ... so either "new math" has arrived in Iraq OR "three card monty" is alive and being propegated right there in the Iraqi parliament ... explains what they've been doing to entertain themselves while they've been avoiding their job all this time ... am I right?! Here's a shocker: CBI: Oil has the most political influence on monetary policy in the country ... yah think? ... wait it's by Mohammed Salih ... something this ridiculously simple shouldn't even be believed ... coming from this fountain of dis-information. Read that as ... "if he told me the sky is blue ... I'd coroborate it from another source before I believed it"! There's a lot of meat and potatoes in the article I know ... well, I'm not your Mom ... do what you think best. Then, first it was Kuwait ($1500/person?) now it's Bahrain with $3000/family ... well, I don't know about you but apparently in that region you pay out to prevent riots ... sorry, just sayin' More oil related articles ... Iraq eyes "super six" ... remember that monicker ... it's the Iraqi six fields found to have massive reserves ... they are concentrating on getting them rolling and then keeping them rolling to create massiv bpd capacity Well here's a poke in the eye Washington is seeking to ensure the broad powers of the Board of policies to address the powers of al-Maliki ... no, I agree they should have ... but they should have done it much sooner, much harder, and more back channel. I'm out of time ... oh, my this is much longer than I expected ... I hope it's not just droning! Happy Valentines to my beautiful Bride and to you all! Peace Doc31
  13. Currency Auctions Announcement No. (1834) The latest daily currency auction was held in the Central Bank of Iraq on the 13-FEB-2011. The results were as follows: DetailsNotesNumber of banks17 Auction price selling dinar / US$1170 Auction price buying dinar / US$----- Amount sold at auction price (US$)147,756,000 Amount purchased at Auction price (US$)----- Total offers for buying (US$)147,756,000 Total offers for selling (US$)----- Exchange rates Dollar's exchange rates / in Baghdad markets You have to realize that the oil and gold are from Friday and will open in about 10 hrs (from now ... lol ... takes forever to write this ... probably be down to 8 by the time I hit "publish") Zeroes ... near ... 1.59M on fair volume with 17 banks participating ... interesting to note that they haven't missed an update on the pdf file! As you can see KitCo changed the colors on their chart ... no, not so much ... In looking at the news this morning it appears to be one big homogenous breath holding session ... rioting? ... no rioting? ... withdrawal of cash from banks to survive if there are riots. Will the thugocrat do what he needs to do to RI/RV and make the Iraqis and us happy? Will US forces step in ... or will it be the contract mercenaries being utilized to show a smaller US military "footprint" step in? (isn't that a total non-sense ... same body count ... less rules ... huge horsepower ... different shirt!) Overtly? Covertly? Again, there are too many stories about the Kurds ... hmmmmmm For the last month or longer we have seen no solid "maybe" days ... I also look back and see my own attitude and circumstance ... I've been "covered up" with things to do and busy overcoming problems ... at the same time I've been inundated with calls from folks that need this to happen for one economic reason or another ... most using the same words ... "under attack". I learned from a preacher years ago not to let anything or anyone steal my joy ... yep, it's a lot of work ... but what's the alternative?! I also learned that when "attacks" come in waves and repetitively ... it always means that I'm on the verge of a breakthrough. So chin up ... do it with a smile and keep slugging. Possibly the most useful thing that I've learned is that IF I don't quit ... I always win. Here's to winning. This last Friday someone posted the notes on Frank26's Thursday chat ... it had some points that were very encouraging ... and some that reminded me of things that I'd forgotten that were important. I got news this week from another source that was encouraging ... no, no rate or date. But very encouraging. It was yesterday when I realized how little encouragement there had been in the last 4 or 5 weeks and that I wasn't the "Energizer Bunny" ... and my excitement level had declined exponentially. It is SOOOOOOOOOOOOO important for us to encourage each other. Reading Frank26 and my private source has encouraged me. I realize that I've given you no substance to be encouraged over ... you'll have to sort that out for yourselves. No, I still don't care whether you buy more IQD or not! Yes, we are ... but I've already explained to you about not being able to stem world hunger and that with our last breath we will be attempting to. I'm headed to church ... no time to edit. I hope that this brings you some measure of peace. Doc31
  14. WTFME ... but will it become popular enough to survive ... alas, me thinks not! Gold has returned to the channel after the morning dip
  15. Currency Auctions Announcement No. (1833) The latest daily currency auction was held in the Central Bank of Iraq on the 10-FEB-2011. The results were as follows: DetailsNotesNumber of banks15 Auction price selling dinar / US$1170 Auction price buying dinar / US$----- Amount sold at auction price (US$)146,405,000 Amount purchased at Auction price (US$)----- Total offers for buying (US$)146,405,000 Total offers for selling (US$)----- Exchange rates Dollar's exchange rates / in Baghdad markets Oil ... poised but no major news at this point ... went up $.40 while I typed this Gold ... has tightened up/consolidated into a $5 channel ... something's up there ... I'll keep an eye on it ... by the time I got a snap of it ... it started running down ... lol! (see chart below) Zeroes ... on middle of the road volume with 15 banks participating there was a whopping 2.990M cash portion ... the largest since Oct 6th or 2.4% of the total ... yes, I know that it is no where near it's previous 18M-26M/day but it is worth noting don't you think Ok ... this is too funny not to mention (sorry Maynard57) Scores of lawyers protest in Baghdad how do you abbreviate "wiping tears from my eyes" ... OMGosh And I love the understated British take on all of this British Ambassador: The Politics of the Iraqi government in the economic field vague ... too funny It seems that protesting has made it from Egypt to Iraq ... MANY articles on protests. F16 contract cancellation due to NSF ... easy fix boys ... the article points out that the Iraqis are not considering French Mirages for the same reason but seem to be implying that it is an obvious option for them (if America won't deliver) ... ask yourself, given a choice ... would you rather fly a Mirage or an F16? ... let's ask the guys who actually got the Mirages and Russian jets up in the air against the Coalition Forces what they think ... oh, that's right ... we can't ... exactly! 8 Vessels unloading commodities (22,500 tons of sugar) ... you only need that much sugar if you plan on making "shine" ... I digress ... someone's going to have to pay for the sugar, iron/steel pipe, etc. Panamanian and Iranian registry. Here's one we would love to have some input on Al-Iraqiya calls on Maliki to hasten allocation of security ministries Serious issues ... Bomb blasts ... 3 consecutive ... car bomb Federal budget reading ... one article says not Sunday ... another says next week. If I had a Dinar for every time I've heard that ... I wondered what that stray article was about declaring that there were no secret prisons ... when was that early this week or late last week? Now we see that Amnesty International had done a study and written a report ... apparently the Iraqis had seen the results and were getting out in front of it. Thats all I have time for this morning. Peace to all, Doc31
  16. Dated Brent Spot is $101.51 at this hour
  17. Thanks all ... just busy ... I did post today http://dinarvets.com/forums/index.php?/topic/53936-cbi-currency-auction-292011/ Peace Doc31
  18. Currency Auctions Announcement No. (1832) The latest daily currency auction was held in the Central Bank of Iraq on the 9-FEB-2011. The results were as follows: DetailsNotesNumber of banks16 Auction price selling dinar / US$1170 Auction price buying dinar / US$----- Amount sold at auction price (US$)164,865,000 Amount purchased at Auction price (US$)----- Total offers for buying (US$)164,865.000 Total offers for selling (US$)----- Exchange rates Dollar's exchange rates / in Baghdad markets Oil up off of yesterday mornings lows Gold ... you gotta' see it to understand that freaky things are going on there ... it's another channel broken up by a bottle rocket at the NY open ($15+) ... Zeroes ... only near zero as the CBI had 2.160M as the cash portion of the 164.865M total volume ... you tell me ... "squeaking by" or alternative mechanism in place. No the lower denoms don't make sense here ... wheelbarrow load to buy a slurpee. I'm sure that this will be the most lame post that I've ever made but I have NO time this morning ... sorry! I had no time yesterday and I thought that someone would post the Currency Auction results (perhaps with the gold, oil and zeroes) in my absence but apparently it didn't happen. So before someone says that I'm sick again (nope ... not then ... not now). Is it just me or are all of the "gurus" (and I use that term very loosely) just beside themselves with the lack of movement by the clowns? There are only bits and pieces of things that MIGHT be meaningful in the news. To me the absence of hard core info is disturbing in and of itself. We don't see Governor Shabibi front and center ... we see the thugocrat ... Maliki rejects al-Iraqiya candidates for Defense Ministry ... yeah, there's a surprise! Maliki: electricity crisis will end next winter ... way to jump on that problem ... oh, yeah ... that problem doesn't exist in the green zone. Diverting of funds ... total nonsense ... RI/RV and none required. Three ration card articles ... see above for solution from $.21 to $750+ The price of flour is up 300% but probably 1/2 of the articles are meant to quell the unrest of the populous. Promises, promises ... oh, yeah ... to date they haven't kept them ... people being treated like "mushrooms" ... enough said. Sorry gotta run ... I warned you it would be lame ... and on very little caffeine ... oh, my! Peace Doc31
  19. Gold holding steady. Oil off a bit more
  20. Currency Auctions Announcement No. (1830) The latest daily currency auction was held in the Central Bank of Iraq on the 7-FEB-2011. The results were as follows: DetailsNotesNumber of banks18 Auction price selling dinar / US$1170 Auction price buying dinar / US$----- Amount sold at auction price (US$)166,020,000 Amount purchased at Auction price (US$)----- Total offers for buying (US$)166,020.000 Total offers for selling (US$)----- Exchange rates Dollar's exchange rates / in Baghdad markets Oil ... oil is hanging in there near $90 ... tough at the pump though Gold ... gold is just "whack" ... see for yourself ... http://www.kitco.com...s/livegold.html Zeroes ... cash portion is 1.908M of the 166M or 1.15% ... not the 8.5%-12.25 of pre-Oct 7th. I added them all together the other day (since Oct 7th and they were less than Sept 20th just by itself). I know something is up ... I wish I had more particulars for you ... cause I'd have more for me too! Between the posts, texts, emails, and calls yesterday regarding the passing of the budget I almost didn't get to see the game! Congratulations to both teams ... I wasn't for either one ... and they made it great fun too watch ... slug-fest ... barn-burner ... whatever you call it ... it was good! You thought I forgot ... lol ... I'm telling you what I told them ... I saw 2 Arab/Middle East articles and one revamped article from the same source ... I didn't see Reuters or any other news agency reporting it and so I wasn't all that moved by it. Later someone texted me that it was being reported in the WSJ. I did not get up from the game to check it out. This morning there are reports it is still a week out. Frank26 says "watch what they DO not what they say!" ... add to that "consider the source". Man ... the news-hounds are slamming this morning ... thanks folks. Don't forget to plus articles that you find meaningful and use the stars in the upper right hand corner in their level of importance to this puzzle. I've very little time but let's see ... Ration cards back in the news ... unanimous vote ... still colored toilet paper boys ... you have to fix that to make the cards meaningful ... you already chopped their totals ... what? three times ... making them worth less than $.22 ... not hard to vote unanimously to spend that miniscule amount. FIX IT! Allawi calling for services to the people to be provided as promised ... again, GE, Siemens, etc will go back to work when the colored toilet paper is worth something! Talabani volunteers to have his salary cut ... noble? ... unlikely ... it's sort of an answer to Allawi's call for services ... "we're right in there with you ... struggling just like you" ... uh-huh It looks like the March thru October luncheons have begun again ... al-Maliki and Allawi ... Talabani and Barzani ... they don't DO anything ... they announce a meeting ... then have the meeting to agree on having another meeting but must meet to decide when to announce that meeting ... you get the picture. Kurds ... Kurds ... Kurds ... hmmmmmmmm ... lots of Kurds articles this morning ... real news or distraction? Well, there are too many ... not much substance but perhaps there is a gem in there that I missed ... love to see the Kurds get all of their ducks in a row. When the Kurds have more going on than Parliament ... the MP's are either really doing something behind closed doors OR doing what they do best ... luncheons! Sorry ... apparently a bit pi$$y this morning ... headache (no ... I didn't party too hard for you Green Bay conspiracy theorists) and low caffeine level ... I don't know if that's it or if I'm just in the mood to see some movement from these clowns. There are a couple of "Conscious" articles and a "watermelon" article ... sorry, I couldn't help myself ... for you newbies ... those words in the title virtually guarantee a very bad translation ... I sure would like to know what Arabic word is being translated into watermelon ... I'm betting that is funny. Kuwait Jordan Nothing really rocking my world at this hour ... most of it is just "stuff" right now and I have to go. Peace Doc31
  21. Currency Auctions Announcement No. (1829) The latest daily currency auction was held in the Central Bank of Iraq on the 6-FEB-2011. The results were as follows: DetailsNotesNumber of banks15 Auction price selling dinar / US$1170 Auction price buying dinar / US$----- Amount sold at auction price (US$)145,879,000 Amount purchased at Auction price (US$)----- Total offers for buying (US$)145,879.000 Total offers for selling (US$)----- Exchange rates Dollar's exchange rates / in Baghdad markets Oil off a bit but they are Friday's close Gold ... I'm going to post the chart as it was running in one channel then went straight up (about $17 -$18 higher) and settled into another channel ... you have to see it to understand the positioning affect that took place Zeroes ... decent volume with 15 banks participating (of the what 22? ... lost count a while back when they added 2 ... have I lost count again?) 1.09M was the cash portion today. Remember how they didn't keep the pdf updated? Well for some time now it has been updated EVERY day! Yesterday, the first couple of things I read weren't exactly "Debbie Downer" or "Negative Nancy" but kind of like the military's "hurry up and wait (and wait ... and wait). I really wasn't in the mood for it ... no I didn't bomb anyone with negatives! ... I just went to the next ... and it wasn't any better. I texted a DV friend ... he told me that "so and so" was upbeat ... OK ... I read it but I'm not a big fan of his. Later, my DV friend called me and asked if the group was ordering ... he had a relative that wanted some and could I come over because this relative had "put 2 and 2 together" from accidental intel that he didn't realize was IQD related when he heard it ... but after my friend's intro to IQD this relative "wanted in". I did ... he did ... and you conspiracy theorists would be standing on your chairs and making plans for your desk (if you get my drift). No rate. No date. But a whose who in the Middle East ... and THAT it is coming in the near future. I don't mean that he indicated this weekend or next week ... not at all. No idea .After my morning quick read though ... I was quite cheered up. Yes, I know it was third hand confirmation ... yep, I got that ... an unprompted story from a music guy who knows nothing of currencies or the Middle East tells me a lot of details that he wouldn't know unless he was one of us. OK ... like I said ... cheered up! Then I get home and listen to a recording from an owner of another site ... feeding my own (prior) advice back to me ... be excited at a window of opportunity date ... don't get too high but why not get excited if you are in this investment ... no predictions ... just big opportunity dates ... staying off of the roller-coaster of emotions by simply saying, "MAYBE now". What's my point? The BOOK says that Iron sharpens Iron. Yesterday was a day that fellow IQD holders helped me ... I didn't think I needed help ... I stand corrected. We all have low points ... not disbelief or anger or (_______ fill in the blank here) ... just weary. When you have needs ... it happens ... even to guys like me who are resolute in their faith (no not in Iraq or IQD ... you know what I mean). And I appreciate the "sharpening". I have my God-daughters this weekend and we are getting ready for church but let's see what's in the news this Sunday: A couple of budget delay articles ... see above ... lol Novelty Saddam Hussein currency for a joke NOT lower denoms NOT counterfeit MP's are wrangling for the popular vote by insisting 15% be set aside for the populous BEFORE voting on the budget ... I'm not saying that it's wrong ... just hard to believe them ... and counter productive since it will delay the process not hurry it along. Former Colonel for defense minister ... we'll see how that plays out And al-Maliki ... self-deprecating al-Maliki has changed his mind on a third term ... imagine that! I've run out of time ... I hope that your perspective has been "cheered" a bit ... even a little would be rewarding. Peace to all Doc31
  22. Interesting concept ... he just seems to have too many strings attached that others are pulling. If the reports about 1B IQD over the border by his son is true and if the $250M his aid was caught with in Switzerland are true (I'm betting that was returned ... diplomatic status) ... this term he eliminates prosecution of any crimes for himself or others ... he RI/RV's and moves on. I heard you ought to be able to "get by" on 1B IQD ... at a penny ... a dime ... a dollar ... or whatever! Peace Doc31
