  1. I was looking in to opening an account with Warka so I could collect interest on my investment while I waited for an RV. However, I got concerned when I read this article, so I started looking in to it. As I searched for references to verify this article, I found this exact article posted on three other dinar speculation websites (similar to dinarvets.com). However, when I went to the link that supposedly has the originating article (http://www.ipairaq.c....onomy&id=51686) the article does not exist there. This is a big enough news story it would be carried by numerous news outlets inside and outside of Iraq. I have silently followed the dinar news for years and I have seen many forged "articles" designed to get you to purchase more paper dinar from dealers. I suspect this may be one of those articles. I don't think Sonny1 originated this article, or even suspected it to be false. But as usual, time tells us that there isn't much credibility in what this article is saying. I will probably still open my account with Warka and hope for a strong RV.
  2. Doug- I could probably negotiate off of that price some.
  3. I haven't checked with him yet. I thought I would post it here first.
  4. I have 1,131,500 Dinars I need to sell. I am asking $1100. I bought 1 million from Ali and have receipts for that transaction. The rest was purchased on ebay as gifts for my family. That is why it is an odd number. If you are interested, let me know. I will ship for free. Thanks.
  5. I think there are two ways Maliki could use the RV. Option One: Maliki RV's the money and hopes it influences the election. Option Two: Maliki tells the people that an RV will only happen if he (and no one else) is elected. Option 1 gives the people freedom, but no guarantee of being elected. Option 2 holds their hope of freedom captive and he has the power to change that. Unfortunately, the culture there is not freedom, so I am guessing we will see #2 played out.
  6. Why is he now 'med' instead of 'sfmedic'? Is that because it was proven that he was never in the special forces?
  7. Thanks k98 for keeping us connected with the dinar community. I know that there is a lot of garbage out there, but that is the investors job to choose who to listen to. You have helped by giving information that we can look through and choose from.
  8. This post clarified what the LOP would look like in my eyes. I was confused as to where the LOP would stop. The only denomination I have a question about now is the 500 dinar note. Is that now the most valuable or the least valuable?
  9. I enjoyed reading your posts and chats. Have a good break.
  10. I think that the Dinar will start to gain value when 1. There is a stable government 2. There is a stable environment (min. terrorism) 3. ISX grows in international credibility 4. Oil exports benefit the nation of Iraq, not outside nations or individuals. Right now none of these exist.
  11. If an RV were to happen, this security seems necessary. They would likely have a tremendous amount of cash, or access to cash on hand. You cannot be too safe in those circumstances. However, I think some of you are right. All Ali or any other Dinar seller has to do is post this article and he sells more Dinar. He is a businessman. If he felt that an RV was coming soon, would he not then hold the rest of the Dinar for his own benefit?
  12. With the 3 zero's coming off of the currency, does that mean that a 500 dinar note is now worth .5 or is that going to be the highest denomination? Any idea?
  13. Thank you. The word "investment" typically implies that there will be a maturing time for your money. I am holding on to it with the vision of a long term investment and the hope of a shorter term one.
  14. I just wanted to post a couple of thoughts I had to see what other people think. I have no inside information, but just a knowledge of a system that Iraq is trying to start. I want the RV/RI to happen ASAP just as much as anyone, but common sense is stopping me from getting to excited right now. Let me know what you think of each thought. 1. Since Shabibi now has control of the RV decision, we cannot look at a politically driven RV. Shabibi is not up for election or re-election, so he has nothing to gain or lose politically by giving the RV. In fact, it would be wise to wait until after the election to see who gets power, then implement the RV or withhold the RV based on that. 2. After the election, and before the elected officials take office is often a time of quick action politically. Outgoing politicians often try to push their agendas on their way out the door because they have nothing to lose. They will not have the power, however, to influence an RV. 3. After the newly elected officials take office, they are motivated by a fresh campaign full of promises and passion. They will immediately start to push for change. This happens with nearly all newly elected officials. Watch for the RV at this point. IMO, this is the best possible fit in the near future. God bless
