  1. Try following this link : http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=ar&tl=en&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.arabsys.net%2Fj%2Fconvert.htm And it is the first thing on the top! Cheers R12
  2. Now, why are You getting upset, Sir? If You carefully read my post again, I am stating the fact - actual celebration that was going on here in their camp. And I even asked for some intel from other people here in country, if anybody knows anything about the reason - why would they celebrate!? And You, Sir come out of the blue - no, they are not celebrating the RV... And even after being corrected by some of the members here - that nobody mentioned any RV, You continue to try and make your point. So, just go ahead and make a point. What are You trying to say, Sir? That You are a person "in-the-know" who works closely with their military forces? (think OPSEC, Sir, and don't even talk about that!) Well in that case, this post is NOT for You, Sir! This is for other good members of this forum, who try to contribute with their intel, their rumors, and their opinnions, so the rest of us who are not so connected and knowledgeable (as You might be...), can find out how close or how far from actual RV/RI we are. And since I started this post, I would appreciate it if You Sir go ahead with Your bussiness, and let us continue speculating about this exciting event. No offence taken on my side, and I think You shouldn't be offended, either (because You started the argument for no obvious reason). Thank You, R12

  4. Oh, OK, So let's say that if it did RV, the Iraqi Air Force, would be well disciplined and trained professional military unit, and they definitely would not celebrate an event that would bring their whole country out of deep sh#t, they are in... Is that what You are trying to say, Sir? C'mon, You have been in country too long, go home, take an R&R or something... Have a nice rainy night, Sir... R12
  5. No, definitely not, because they already celebrated the Mohammad's B'day on Friday (and it is not an official holliday here - Iraqi shops were open). Go figure...
  6. Yeah, Right, and get shot for a measly $1,000.00.... R U crazy!? I don't want to be a dead millioner Cheers R12
  7. Sincerely - I was thinking about it, but it is off-limit for us. I guess we'll have to wait 'till morning to find out what's up... R12
  8. This evening around 18:30, while going to work (night shift), something very interesting happened here on our Base. From the direction of the Iraqi Air-Force base (here at the VBC), I heard a crowd of people screaming, yelling, celebrating something. And it must have been a large crowd, because their camp is almost a half a mile down the road from ours... and I was wandering - did Maliki or Shabibi announce something tonight (I believe somebody here on the forum mentioned yesterday that he was supposed to give a speach tonight)??? Does anybody else (here in Iraq) know anything about the similar celebration(s)? R12
  9. Everybody You mentioned here is getting paid in US dollars, so they wouldn't know! You have to check with somebody who works/associates with the Iraqi citizens who get paid by their local employers. Cheers R12
  10. Is it possible that you can post a copy of this KBR/Halliburton inter-company e-mail/inter-company memo?? Gawd that'd be the sweetest Icing on an already sweet cake!! Document Document Document!!! It should be KBR-Kellogg, Brown & Root, the construction and engineering division of Halliburton. My logic would dictate that Enorrste will make contact with this caller on or right after 2/28 to confirm or deny this suppostion and inform us in order to know the status of the dinar's true value one way or the other at that time. Please let me know if I am missing anything in this logical deductive thought process. You can scratch that one! That company pays their people in $ (dollars) US. So, NO, there wouldn't be any e-mail nor memo! Cheers
  11. And something weird happened today - Military Financial office here on the base did not sell dinar today (this morning)! Their explanation - we run out of dinar... Very unusual, if you ask me... Maybe they did run out (the last minute buyers/investors), or maybe they know something we don't... We'll see
  12. Hey whisky runner, seems like you are getting high on your own supply What are you trying to say? Doesn't make any sense... Cheers
  13. Hey, I am at the VBC as well, and Yes - the North bank is legit. I opened the account last month (as soon as they opened up). They have branches at the few neighbouring countries (Lebanon, UAE- Abu Dhabi, Amman- Jordan...), and they should have the internet banking access within the next 3-6 months (as per managers explanation). You can PM me if you need any other info or help. Good Luck! R12
  14. What are You talking about?!? You got it backwards! "Today, one dinar is worth $.00117. By simple multiplication, we can determine that a 25,000 dinar note is worth 25,000 x $.00117 = $29.25" Because 1 dinar is worth .000856 !!!! Cheers
