  2. You know, I probably get dozens of these kinds of chain emails ... But for some reason this one REALLY hit home today. I guess I'm just an old marshmallow ... Delta, THANK YOU for YOUR time, for taking the time to post this, and post all the other INFORMATIVE (or funny, or ...) items that you do! Have a GREAT week! Sniff. 'Ol Bill the Cat
  3. Oh, really? This smoke and mirrors circus regarding the (security) ministers position has really gotten old. I think the GOI has been seated for months. See the articles below pulled from DD. * Defense calls on China to submit proposals to arm the Iraqi army September 8th, 2011 06:08 am · Alsumaria News / Baghdad Said the Iraqi Defence Ministry, on Wednesday, seeking to build a serious relationship with China in all fields, especially in arming the Iraqi army, Daihayaha to submit an offer to arm the Iraqi army because of its credibility in this area and at competitive prices, while the Chinese Ambassador in Baghdad, expressed confidence the development of bilateral relations between the the two countries in cultural and military after the visit of Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki to Beijing. He said Iraqi Minister of Defense Agency Saadoun al-Dulaimi said in an interview for “Alsumaria News”, on the sidelines of his meeting with Chinese ambassador in Baghdad, Zhang Yi, “Iraq seeks all means to build a serious relationship with China in various fields, especially the military, cultural and economic,” asserting that “China respects the relationship and support her friends sincerely. “ For his part, said a spokesman for the Ministry of Defence Major General Mohammed al-Askari said that “Iraq has links azalea with China in the field of armament and infrastructure extends to the development of many of Alsnov and weapons,” adding that “China is taking now firmly in the field of armament, advanced technologies and compete with leading countries in the this area. “ He said the military in an interview for “Alsumaria News”, that “the defense ministry called for the Chinese side to provide performances like other countries that wish to supply Iraq with weapons, to ensure competition and access to the required quality of military equipment at affordable prices,” stressing that the ministry “is interested in the commitment of processors Baltoukitat specific processing weapons. “ On his part, Chinese ambassador in Baghdad, Zhang Yi, in an interview for “Alsumaria News”, on the margin of dumping “confident the development of bilateral relations between the two countries in all fields, especially in cultural and military after the visit of Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki to Beijing.” The Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki, visited China in July, in the context of Iraq sought to document his relationship with her in all areas in the interest of the two countries. Maliki has called for during the visit of Chinese companies to work in Iraq, and to participate in the process of building, rebuilding, and activate the work of the Joint Economic Committee between the two countries, pointing out that Iraq has succeeded in creating the right climate for investment and enable the development of the legal and legislative, as called for the Chinese leadership to contribute to the exit from Iraq Chapter VII. And contribute to China’s significant role in the development of the fields of Iraqi oil, as obtained on four decades in Basra, Maysan and Wasit, and signed with the Iraqi Ministry of Electricity, in the twenty-fifth of last April, signed a one billion dollar in the second phase of the original contract with a Chinese company to double production of energy electric thermal plant Zubaydiah province of Wasit. The Iraq and China have agreed on 26 February, to develop economic and trade cooperation during a meeting with Iraqi President Jalal Talabani, a Chinese government delegation headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Jay Jones. Noteworthy that China is now the third strongest and largest producer of weapons in the world after the United States and Russia, so Iraq is trying all means to build a serious relationship with it in different directions, both in the military, or cultural or economic. And here's an article released two hours later ... * Zobaie demand for the rule of law in resolving the file to speed up the security ministries September 8th, 2011 08:01 am · Thursday 8 September 2011 Student member of the Iraqi state law Talal Zobaie need to speed up the security minister’s name, especially after the Iraqi offer a number of candidates for the Ministry of Defence. Zobaie said in a statement to the news agency public opinion (and babysit) on Thursday: “The need to resolve a security ministries has become an urgent necessity after the submission of the Iraqi List, a list of candidates with about ten.” He pointed out that the list of candidates included people the advantage of efficient, professional and experienced ” . Zobaie said: “There is consensus within the political blocs to spend the need to speed up the resolution of this file and not to delay it longer.” Explaining that there are benefits and electoral blocs of political entitlements of waiting for resolution of the security ministries. “ The security ministries are still managed by proxy due to failure to reach a final agreement on a candidate to fill the existing Iraqi Ministry of Defense. ... and by proxy I'm assuming this is supposed to mean Maliki? Did Maliki name al-Dulaimi by proxy, or is he just manning the desk? Smoke and Mirrors. GO RV! Ol' Bill the Cat
  4. OK, so my Exxon Mobil example was extreme and illogical - I was actually only trying to make a VERY simplistic point, but maybe I should have expounded further. I'm tired and have no desire to engage in the LOP/No-LOP argument that has been argued 1000x already. I don't believe the U.S. government would have gone to war over oil at the expense of 1000's of U.S. lives, and billions if not trillions of U.S. dollars, without KNOWING they would reap a significant pay day. (But then again, why should I expect differently from the incompetent politico's that have run this country into the ground in the last decade or so ? Maybe I really am insane ...). Personally, I think we should have made a glass desert out of the entire Middle East say 40 years ago, and we might all be moving into ocean-front property with an oil well in the back yard by now ... (YES, another far too simplistic a statement - and certainly not meant to be warm and fuzzy or politically correct. I'm going to get hammered for this, I know ...). Look at Nagasaki today ... and look at the value of the YEN to the dollar, and we rebuilt them! Can it LOP? Absolutely. Do I think it's going to? NO. I'll take an RV at .30, but would love one around $ 1.55 - just to make a statement. Thank you to all for your opinions, and we all know what they say about those ... mine included. Now, please RV? GO RV? GO RV!!! AAACCCKKK! Bill the Cat
  5. OK, let's put this in even simpler English. If Iraq LOP's and then RV's - Exxon-Mobil (or a country like CHINA) will just stroke a quick check and BUY THE ENTIRE DAMN COUNTRY, as their current market capitalization is then greater than ALL IRAQI CURRENCY IN CIRCULATION after said LOP - even with an RV at an astronomical number (double digits astronomical)! ... NO LOP! I don't know why this is even continuing to be discussed, as it's not truly viable option and does nothing for anyone. Smoke and Mirrors via media .... Do you really believe everything you see on the news as it's spoon fed to you? And NO, I haven't been dipping into the Kool Aid - I've just done enough homework to formulate my own opinion at this point. I wouldn't have invested in such a speculative investment if I didn't see the potential for significant returns. I love reading the rumors and hype - but that's all the vast majority of it is. NO ONE IS GOING TO KNOW BEFORE IT HAPPENS, and this is the reason for all the ongoing distortion in the media. Look through the forest and see the damn trees! Look at the more factual, realistic stories released by NON-MALIKI controlled media as to the progress being made - and the RV is happening right before our eyes! All we are waiting on is for SHAB'S (or the IMF) to push the damn button! GO RV! Let's get this damn show on the road! AAACCCKKKK!!! Bill the Cat
  6. NO, the crack may have been good, and hopefully you washed it down with a BIG dose of KOOL AID - but the new CBI site has been rumored for some time now. You are also correct about the "three days of no auctions", as this has been rumored as well. They just had 5 days of no auctions - along with the CBI site going down. I'd say this gives them a PERFECT opportunity to RV ... AAACCKKK!! Ol' Bill the Cat
  7. This has been posted on several times since the 29th. While the EID holiday makes sense, it really did not account for the lack of data for the 30th-31st. It's also rather coincidental that the CBI was mostly down over the last few days, as I don't remember this happening before to this extent (where the site couldn't even be found). It has always been theorized that the RV would occur over a holiday and that the CBI site would go down. Add to that the increase in information/misinformation coming out of the CBI, and the rumor mill with all the GURU's and their postings - and things may prove interesting. I'll believe it when I see the LARGE increase to all my bank balances, but until that time - it sure is fun to dream about! Everyone have a GREAT Labor Day, and GO RV! AAACCKKK!!! 'Ol Bill the Cat
  8. Sorry, guys if this question has been posted and/or addressed - as I have been off-site for a bit. Does anyone know why the CBI site is only showing rates and auction results thru 8/29? I know there have been times in the past they didn't update the site for a few days. Does this have to do with the EID holiday after Ramadan? It seems like the "CASH PORTION" of the auction is also much higher than normal for 8/28-8/29 as well, and this seems to coincide with a pattern from other dates (7/2010 -10/2010 approx., 6/30, etc.) that we were "assured" the RV was about to happen. Part of me basically thinks that the CBI can tell us whatever the heck they want regarding their auction data, etc. given their strategy of misinformation, and there may well be an "alternate CBI" site in use. Just thought I would pose the question. Thanks, and everyone have a GREAT Labor Day weekend! GO RV! AAACCKKK! Ol' Bill the Cat
  9. DRV: I am not a particularly religious person, but I am a person of faith and certainly would never criticize someone of more or different faith than I - but I thought I would share this small poem with you. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during your time of loss. It sounds like your Aunt was very special to you, and I'm sure you were to her as well. Bill the Cat God Saw You Getting Tired God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be so he put his arms around you and whispered, "Come to Me" With tearful eyes we watched you and saw you pass away and although we love you dearly we could not make you stay. A Golden heart stopped beating hard working hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us He only takes the BEST.
  10. We all tend to become a bit jaded and skeptical over time. Some just choose to be quite vocal about it, and of course - every post by a newbie HAS to be a PUMP, right? Thank you for taking the time to post this under rumors. Regardless, it's still nice to people's first hand accounts of things that they have experienced. It's up to the reader to make their own decision as to what they choose to believe, or not. The criticism really isn't necessary however. Didn't Momma teach some folks "if they ain't got nothing nice to say, don't say it at all"? Hell, Opus taught me that, and we all know he walks funny and has a really big schnoz ... (grin). Have a great weekend, and go RV. Ol' Bill the Cat
  11. Very well said, my friend. A toast to you, and I'm right there with you. Me, I hope to enjoy my life - but also help many, many people with miracles previously unattainable, and teach many a man to "fish" and in turn, PAY IT FORWARD. Ol' Bill the Cat
  12. As was stated previously, as long as we are not given a specific time period to cash in - I would say consider liquidating only as much as you need to facilitate the retirement of debt and have immediate liquidity, and then "dollar cost average" your future conversions, cashing in notes as needed going forward. I would seriously consider holding Swiss Francs, Silver and Real Estate. I remember reading a post by someone who seemed to be quite knowledgeable, wherein they discussed parking your dinar with a large investment firm in a currency account - therefore converting your physical dinar into "electronic" dinar - and then it wouldn't matter if it was large or small denominations (correct??). If I can find this previous discussion I will repost. Bill the Cat
  13. I don't know if the Soros bet was specifically related to our rating with Moody's, but I have heard several people comment that he "won" his bet and with this it would appear so ... You didn't actually think he was going to place a LOSING bet for a cool BILL now did you? Ol' Bill the Cat U.S. credit rating downgraded By JOSH BOAK & CARRIE BUDOFF BROWN - POLITICO - 8/5/11 8:18 PM EDT Updated: 8/5/11 9:31 PM EDT Standard and Poor’s on Friday downgraded the nation’s top-notch triple-A credit rating, the first downgrade in U.S. history and a dramatic vote of no-confidence in the world’s largest economy and its political leadership. “We have lowered our long-term sovereign credit rating on the United States of America to ‘AA+’ from ‘AAA,’” S&P said in a statement. “The downgrade reflects our view that the effectiveness, stability, and predictability of American policymaking and political institutions have weakened at a time of ongoing fiscal and economic challenges to a degree more than we envisioned when we assigned a negative outlook to the rating on April 18, 2011.” The ratings agency put forth a blistering view of Washington partisanship, adding that “we have changed our view of the difficulties in bridging the gulf between the political parties over fiscal policy.” One lawmaker offered an equally biting retort. Rep. Barney Frank (D-Mass.) angrily denounced the ratings downgrade and said the credit agency has a “terrible record.” “These are some of the people who have the worst records of incompetence and irresponsibility around,” he said on MSNBC’s “Rachel Maddow Show.” “I would urge people: Pay no attention to these people.” Frank, the top Democrat on the House Financial Services Committee, also said S&P was “trying to justify their reputation” after failing to spot problems in the nation’s financial system before the economic crisis of 2008. S&P had notified the White House earlier Friday that it planned the downgrade, a senior administration official told POLITICO. The White House challenged the agency’s analysis and said it was off by at least $2 trillion dollars. S&P agreed to withhold a final decision and take another look, the official said. "A judgment flawed by a $2 trillion error speaks for itself” a Treasury spokesman told reporters in a conference call after S&P’s downgrade. S&P officials had spent time at the Treasury Department this week, and administration officials were prepared for an announcement to be made after the market close on Friday. President Barack Obama and congressional leaders had hoped this week’s deal to raise the debt ceiling would stave off any downgrading of the U.S. credit rating – but Standard and Poor’s had left open the door to a downgrade if the final deal didn’t reach budget cuts of $4 trillion. The final deal would cut at least $2.1 trillion over 10 years. Rumors of a downgrade filtered through a volatile stock market, causing the Dow Jones Industrial average to swing by 416 points as it teetered between losses and gains to close the day up slightly by 0.54 percent. The possibility of a downgrade overwhelmed the initial surge caused by a government report showing the economy had added 117,000 jobs in July, beating analyst expectations. With U.S. household net worth totaling about $58 trillion and the national debt slightly more than $14 trillion, the country has the resources to honor its debt, indicating that a downgrade would be a commentary on the sharp political divisions splitting Washington. 14. Thank you, QuietLearner for taking the time to post this. I enjoy your posts, and the intelligent conclusions/postulations typically found therein. Have a great day, and GO RV! Ol' Bill needs a new flea collar, and a new alley kitten to scratch on ... Bill the Cat
  15. OK, I'm game .... An extremely dapper, white haired gentleman walked into a jewelry store one Friday evening with a BEAUTIFUL young gal at his side. He told the jeweler he was looking for a "special" ring for his "special" friend. The jeweler looked through his stock and brought out a lovely $5,000 ring. The old man said, 'No, I'd really like to see something MUCH more special.' With that, the young ladies eyes lit up and she began to get a just a bit excited. At that point, the jeweler excused himself, went back to his safe and brought out a ring from his EXCLUSIVE collection. He said, 'Now here is an absolutely stunning ring - 4 carat, Asscher cut, VS-1 clarity, F in color - a TRULY magnificent piece - and this ring can be purchased for only $ 95,000". NOW the young lady's eyes sparkled, her whole body trembled, and she was moist with excitement. The old man seeing her reaction said, 'We'll take it.' Princess about comes unglued here ... The jeweler asked how payment would be made, and the old man stated, 'by check. I know you need to make sure my check is good, so I'll write it now and you can call the bank Monday to verify the funds, and I'll pick the ring up Monday afternoon,' he said. A handshake sealed the deal. The couple left the store, and the manager was so excited he closed early. Monday morning, the jeweler phoned the old man. 'There's no money in your account!!!' 'Yeah, I know,' said the old man ... ... ‘But let me tell you about my weekend!' Bill the Cat * this joke, as part of a handwritten note, placed in a cute card - scored me a date with a seriously attractive young lady.
