  1. NWGUY: that is the single most intelligent and probable thought I've seen on this forum since I've been reading this crap.
  2. http://www.uniraq.org/FileLib/misc/Record%20of%20UNSC%20meeting%20on%20Iraq_19%20Jul%202011.pdf - ****, I think they extended it?
  3. I'm not sure if they voted to extended (don't think so) or to end it (I sure as hell hope so)
  4. perhaps this well help: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_Nations_Security_Council_Resolution_1936
  5. Hello everyone - can someone point me to some documents that outline how the USD oil sales end up as Dinar and why the CBI has these currency auctions? Who are these banks that buy from the CBI from these currency auctions? I have read the the dinar is "pegged" on the USD but not really sure what this means (I can find this on my own). I have also read that banks in Iraq (maybe just the CBI) aren't using fractional reserve banking for loans (perhaps this is wrong?) Anyways, I just would like to find some information that flows all of this out so I can understand the oil >>USD >> dinar flow Thanks!
  6. Hi Doc! Love your posts. However, I do have one question. I've noticed you've mentioned Shabibi saying something to the effect of releasing a rate once the Iraqi Government is seated. Can you point us to a link with this or recall when/where he said this? I've been digging around but cannot find anything. Looks like we're very close to that very event if so. I believe that if Shabibi did in fact say this then he fully intends to do so! Which is, of course, what we've all been waiting for . Thanks for your time Doc! Keep up the good work (:
  7. Crud - I didn't even notice the date - oh well, we'll see... GO RV!!!
  8. Here is something postive too! GO RV!!!!!
  9. LINK: http://www.iraqdirectory.com/DisplayNews.aspx?id=1593 ARTICLE: Baker Jaber AL Zubaidi: Iraqi Dinar Value should be Raised Al-Sabah - [6/29/2006] The Ministry of Finance together with the Central Bank are studying a proposal to raise the value of the Iraqi dinar in order to return it to previous levels where one Iraqi dinar was valued at 3.33 US dollars. This was pre 1980 before Iraq became involved in three destructive wars that at one time led to the currency's value dropping to a level of 3,000 Iraqi dinars to one US dollar. The proposal has the support and approval of the World Bank. A statement by B.J. AL Zubaidi, the Minister of Finance, in which he said that he had suggested to the Chairman of the Central Bank, Dr. Sinan AL Shibibi, that three zeros be taken from the Iraqi Dinar in order to raise its value so that one Dinar be equal to a Dollar. He explained that the financial authorities were set on holding a meeting next month to discuss the matter. The meeting is to be attended by experts and specialists from the Ministry of Finance, the Iraqi Central Bank and the Commercial Bank . The new Minister confirmed that 2007 would see the preparation of a qualitative budget, the first of its kind in Iraq history, and that the new program would pinpoint economic indicators. ME: Alright, DO IT!!!! GO RV!!!!!
  10. LINK: http://online.wsj.com/article/BT-CO-20101129-715762.html LONDON (Dow Jones)--One of the priorities of the new Iraqi government, which is now under formation, is to enact a long-awaited hydrocarbon law in order to reassure international oil companies that signed huge oil deals with Iraq, a government spokesman said Monday. "Among the next government's priorities will be the approval of the oil and gas law through parliament," Ali Al Dabbagh told an Iraqi petroleum conference in London. Dabbagh said the new law would also be designed to resolve an impasse between the central government and that of the semi-autonomous region of Kurdistan in northern Iraq. He said oil contracts signed by the Kurdistan Regional Government with global companies need to be consistent with the new law. "Enacting the law would give a legal environment that reassures international oil companies and it should also bring oil contracts signed by the Kurdistan region in line with the central government's measures," he said. The law was initiated by the outgoing government of Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki more than two years ago but it never moved past being debated. ME: I realize this is slightly old news but I'm wondering about if this is the law the Biden had mentioned it outstanding on Larry King? Wasn't that in regards to profit sharing to the Iraqi Citizen??
  11. Someone mentioned that he/she thought TerryK was already committed... I got a kick out of that. He should just stop, its pointless. We're almost done anyways it seems.
  12. Sonny1, I believe Mr. Spock would say "His logic is sound."
  13. Ah, I see - excellent replies, thank you very much - I greatly appreciate your responses. GO RV!
  14. Hello everyone & welcome to my first post. I've been invested since this summer. I've read many posts and lately have been checking many times a day. It seems more good news has been popping up than any other time since 2003? Anyways, I have one question.... Can someone explain why the RV would occur prior to the lifting of Chapter 7 or would it RV after the Chapter 7 release? In my thinking, if Chapter 7 is released, Iraq will have access to their foreign assets (which I've heard but don't know what they are, perhaps random Saddam-scattered bank accounts or something?). Perhaps a currency thats not pegged on the dollar is a requirement (if so, anyone have a link to prove this?). Anyways, thats about it - thanks for your time - GO RV!!! parlous
