  1. Man in center holding child is Mr. Benito Mussolini ( yep.....the bad guy...A disgrace for this Country...Got shot by insurgents on my exact birthday just 12 years before I was born....April 29, 1945...That order was given by the head of Northern Italy insurgents Sandro Pertini who in 1978 became President of the Republic until 1985....Thanks Universe I was spared the fascism experience....I'm grateful)...Friends and ally with Germany's Adolf Hitler and the Japanese in 2nd World War against everybody else ( smart, huh)...... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Benito_Mussolini Worth noting that in that obscure period Italy applied racial laws against Jewish - Italian People and consequent deportation to concentration camps just to make buddy Adolf happy.....Jewish People could not work anymore and kids could not go to school anymore....All that in addition to the repression against all those who were opposing fascism at various levels ( intellectuals, teachers, writers, journalists etc) of course.....One of the saddest episodes in the history of my country.... One of the last still living survivors of that camp tragedy, Liliana Segre ( a young girl at the time) was appointed Senator for life some years ago and she's still talking about all that in schools and universities about her experience of discrimination, hate etc....Great individual https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liliana_Segre Best president we ever had https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sandro_Pertini Sandro Pertini, Italian President With Common Touch, Dies at 93 By Clyde Haberman, Special To the New York Times Feb. 26, 1990 https://www.nytimes.com/1990/02/26/obituaries/sandro-pertini-italian-president-with-common-touch-dies-at-93.html
  2. As music has no boundaries of any kind ( or at least it should not) ...In the past he'd get invited many times to the Italian Communist party (biggest communist party in Western Europe in the past) yearly Nat'l celebration ...I'm Italian...I know and remember...I might even have gotten to see him here in Trento once a long time ago...maybe mid-70's...But not totally sure I believe this one is his dedication to jazz giant Duke Ellington
  3. Fascist dictator Benito Mussolini's son He married Italian actress Sophia Loren's sister Maria...His daughter Alessandra became a member of the European Parliament and then a member of the Italian Parliament as a congresswoman in the party of Silvio Berlusconi....She has gotten out of Politics in the last years ( Thank you Lord)...She'd still get much pissed whenever participating in talk shows if any other show guest would talk badly / criticize about her Granddad Benito and / or Fascism in general.....Tragicomical reaction.....She still thinks GrandDad was a great man....Family ties are family ties....Ok Good pianist / keyboardist Percussionist is Tullio De Piscopo who later would become Pino Daniele's drummer https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Romano_Mussolini
  4. Loving this one... Awesome drum work by Ian Paice (called "little Ian" in order to not confuse him with vocalist Gillan) Their best album to me is "Deep Purple In Rock" 1970 ( which I spinnned here countless times)
  5. All next songs are performed by the classic / epic somehow DP lineup ( Deep Purple In Rock, Fireball, Machine Head, Made In Japan-live, Who Do We Think We Are albums...Probably I forgot some.... ) Ritchie Blackmore – guitar Jon Lord (RIP) – keyboards, organ Ian Paice – drums, percussion Ian Gillan – lead vocals Roger Glover – bass This lineup then crumbled after a few years mainly because there was a bad fight going on for quite some time between vocalist Ian Gillan and Ritchie Blackmore ( acknowledged by many as a great guitarist but also known for being crazy like a horse) They had gotten to the point of beating each other up in a few occasions........Usually started by Blackmore
  6. Written by American composer and musician Joe South for recording artist Billy Joe Royal Track recorded 1968 by first DP lineup : Rod Evans – lead vocals Ritchie Blackmore – guitar Jon Lord (RIP) – organ, backing vocals Nick Simper – bass, backing vocals Ian Paice – drums Later Rod Evans would be replaced by Ian Gillan and Nick Simper by Roger Glover and that will be the steady and classic DP lineup for many years and many albums before changing again..... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deep_Purple
  7. Before joining Gino Vannelli, drummer Vinnie Colaiuta used to play with Frank Zappa ( if I'm not mistaken....)
  8. In most ( if not all) of these tracks ... drummer is stunning US Vinnie Colaiuta....

  16. 34, 735 Palestinians killed and 78,108 injured ( lots of them women and children) already since Oct. 7 but evidently that is not enough yet......Almost 70% of housing destroyed....Ok...... They keep ordering People to move south then move north then move east, then west.....They want them to disappear for good actually...Again I call it a genocide.... That's great for those Israelis ( not all) calling themselves the "elected" people......
