  1. Maliki vows to end all outstanding issues with Kuwait Baghdad, November 23 (Rn) - Iraqi Prime Minister Prime Minister-designate Nuri al-Maliki, on Tuesday, to end all pending issues between Iraq and Kuwait, calling on the UN Security Council and the United Nations to play a role in the resolution of those files. Maliki said in a statement received by the agency Kurdistan News (Rn), during a meeting with Representative of the Secretary General of the United Nations in Iraq, Ad Melkert and Coordinator of the Secretary General of the United Nations the issue of missing Kuwaitis, Gennady Tarasov said that "Iraq is fully prepared to do everything asked of it in a file of Kuwaiti missing persons and investigate any information that could lead to find their remains, "noting that" the search for them and a humanitarian obligation and a religious commitment, regardless of whoever he with the State of Kuwait. " Kuwait is demanding the Iraqi government to deal more seriously to uncover the remains of 370 Kuwaitis missing in Iraq since the nineties of the last century, while stressing that the Iraqi government to investigate ongoing operations for the missing Kuwaitis. He made it clear that "Iraq is committed to resolving all outstanding issues and overcome the effects of the brutal invasion suffered by the State of Kuwait by the former regime and as soon as possible," calling "the United Nations and the Security Council to play a more active role in the acceleration Butti this file to resolve all outstanding issues." The former Iraqi president Saddam Hussein ordered the invasion of Kuwait in 1990, on the impact of the imposition of sanctions on Iraq from the international community and put Iraq under Chapter VII, which makes it a country threatens global security. The Iraqi government is seeking to emerge from Chapter VII, which is in operation, with still a lot of files stuck between Iraq and Kuwait, most notably the missing file and the debt of Iraq which requires the completion of their obligations as a condition of his release from the seventh item. http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&ie=UTF-8&sl=ar&tl=en&u=http://www.aknews.com/ar/aknews/3&prev=_t&rurl=translate.google.com
  2. I didnt mean to make you lose your religion. And how does it make me a low life individual? All I was asking was your opinion pops. And you should not judge people. YOU BIG DUMMY!!
  3. Rev. Dan Opinion I think it will be announced on the 21st/22ND but will be about the 25 to the 28th before it goes into effect. They will stop selling the Dinar upon the announcement and the dealers will have to account for what they still hold immediately. They where not given a extention from the IMF they may have gotten one from the courts in country but the IMF told them NO MORE EXTENTIONS.YOU CAN POST THIS IF YOU LIKE I AM JUST TOO BUSY TODAY. well pops whats your opinion now?
  4. If you remove 3 zeros from the currency you at the same time remove 3 zeros from the rate and exchange and it revenue neutral. If you have a 25,000 dinar note it is worth 25,000/1170 = $21.37. If you delete 3 zeros from the 25,000 it loses no value and is still worth $21.37 as a 25 dinar note. What has happened is that the 25,000 dinar note has been divided by 1000. and 24,975 dinar have been taken out of circulation although no value of the money supply has been lost. However at the same time the 24,975 dinar is removed from circulation, the rate is also change from 1170 rate to 1.170 rate. Before $21.37 X 1170 = 25,000 dinar. After the removal of the zeros the rate would be $21.37 X 1.170 = 25 dinar. The exchange with the 25,000 note was 1/1170 = .00086 exchange. With the lopped 25 dinar note the exchange will be 1/1.170 = .86 exchange. Before the lop if one had a 25,000 dinar note the exchange would be .00086, the rate 1170 and the value $21.37. After the lop one's 25,000 note will be reduced to 25 dinar with a exchange of .86, a rate of 1.170 and the same value of $21.37. A lop is revenue neutral as the CBI has explained many times. It is impossible to lop the currency 3 zeros and maintain the same value without also at the same time changing the rate and exchange by 3 zeros. Its why a lop is used to reduce the currency in circulation. Because at the same time the rate and exchange are also changed to reflect the lop making the action revenue neutral while the convenience of use of the currency is enhanced.

  6. The currency was issued following the aftermath of the fall of the Saddam administration in the year 2003. Before the golf war, it was on record that the Kuwait’s Dinar was traded to equal $3.55 of the US dollar. During the invasion of Saddam, the Kuwait Dinar dropped to an astonishing low rate of 6 pennies to the Dollar. People with sound predictions and predictions bought the currency, and raked in huge profits when the price stepped up a year later to its value prior to the war. Before the Second World War, the Iraqi Dinar was sold between a range of $.33 to $3.35. So, the possibilities are obvious. That is to say that, even if there is shift to just one penny, you will still profit for sure. In a speech, G.W. Bush stated: “We also want to leave the Iraqi people with a strong Dinar”. The 15th of October 2003 ushered in the creation of the New Iraqi Dinar. Ever since that time, the international demand for the new currency has steadily been on the increase. Strong Asset Base: Iraq, being the second largest producer of oil in the world, has reserves of over $10 trillion quoting the current market value. Consequently, the US government is spending billions in creating a vibrant Iraq capital economy. Pepsi is also taking advantage of the inherent opportunities in the oil-rich nation and is starting commercial business in the country. No doubt, the economy is fast recovering! Communications Infrastructures too are not left out as AT&T, Motorola and Lockheed Martin are waxing stronger in their operations. The American University training too is on-going in Iraq. General Electric is also raking huge profits from its operations. Given that the strength of a country’s currency is a function of the economic status, indications are that the Iraqi Dinar will be waxing stronger. Right now, over 400,000 jobs have been created for the Iraqis by American programs. In addition to the local firms currently stationed there, big firms from all over the world are trouping into the country to help build a new Iraq. As a way of stabilizing the financial system and make it of high international standards, financial entities such as the World Trade Organization (WTO) and IMF (International Monetary Fund), with other banking organizations like the World Bank are working tirelessly with the Government of Iraq. Once this aim is achieved, the value of the Iraqi Dinar will be outstanding. The belief is that with a boost in the Iraqi currency, more investors and currency traders will be lured into the financial market, so that there will be a financial market that is free-flowing. The presence of improved infrastructure, enhanced security, viable domestic and foreign investment boosts the chance of Iraq to continue to grow and flourish. With total commitment and success on the part of the people, government, the nation’s currency will appreciate in value. Iraq is reputed for a top quality crude oil that is affordable. Compared with the prices of other oil producing nations, the cost of oil production is very affordable because, there are only a few impurities or problems associated with the crude oil drilling process. Therefore, the profit margin of oil production in the country is highest compared to what obtains in other surrounding oil-producing regions. Once the economy is stabilized, the GDP rate will increase, so high that no other oil-producing regions will surpass the country. Iraqi Dinar Revaluation ~ Projections for the Future Economists and financial experts are of the view that the Iraq economy will rise back to greatness so that the currency will approach a value of three Dinars to a dollar. They are of the opinion that the Iraqi economy will approach enviable heights by the year 2013. As at now, the value of a million Iraqi Dinars is not up to one thousand US dollars. History has it that the worth of one million Iraqi Dinars was once equal to 3 million US dollars. It is remarkable that Iraq possesses huge deposits of crude oil despite the fact that vast areas of the land have not been geologically discovered with the latest sophisticated seismic technology. Currently, Iraq boasts of at least 115 billion barrels of crude oil reserves according to the surveys done in the past. Nevertheless, the Iraqi government has publicized its claims that the country has massive reserves of petroleum which could be the largest on the planet. Financial analysts believe that even if the equivalent value of an Iraqi Dinar is equal to $0.26 (US Dollar), the lowest valued currency in the Mainstream Middle Eastern Countries, then a million Dinars will be equal to 260 thousand US Dollars. According to studies in late 2003, the Iraqi economy has been recovering so that there is a steady rise in natural resources conversion. Consequently, there has been a steady increase in the value of the currency. It is also worthy of note that there is a worldwide shortage of oil leading to soaring prices of crude oil in the global market. Currently, currencies in the oil-rich Middle Eastern countries surpass the Iraqi Dinar in value. The Chinese and Indian economies are waxing stronger and will continue to do so. Therefore, there is bound to be increase in the demand for oil and in addition, the value of the currencies. As a result, there are indications that the Iraqi currency will increase in value so that its value will need to be re-evaluated to commiserate with the economic growth of the country. From the look of things, CBI is taking part in a study to find out how the value on the Dinar can be raised.

  9. Iraq's Oil Patch Opens the Spigot Foreign companies are sending in expatriate managers, hiring Iraqi engineers and laborers and building massive base camps in the desert in southern Iraq, where the country's reserves and production are concentrated. Freshly imported rigs have started drilling new wells and repairing dozens more older wells near Basra, which is both an oil and port town. Shiny new restaurants and car dealerships are popping up around town—and vanity license plates are fetching north of $10,000. It's part of the first wave of foreign-controlled drilling in Iraq since former President Saddam Hussein nationalized the oil industry in the 1970s. Royal Dutch Shell PLC said last month that it had boosted production at the Majnoon field near here to 70,000 barrels per day, up from 45,000 barrels. Iraqi officials now expect a consortium led by BP PLC and China National Petroleum Corp. to meet a 10% production-increase target at the nearby Rumaila field this month, lifting daily output by 100,000 barrels, to over 1.1 million. That's three years ahead of schedule. http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052702303467004575574142765620652.html?ru=MKTW&mod=MKTW Looks like the money is starting to flow.

  11. By Karim al-Hamdani Azzaman, November 15, 2010 While Iraqis complain of power outages that may last up to 20 hours a day, the Electricity Ministry says consumers must pay half a billion dollars (530 billion dinars) to cover unpaid bills. “The sum of money that we need to collect is 530 billion dinars,” said the ministry’s information officer. Musaab al-Modaris said the ministry has started charging consumers in light of latest rates. The new rates increase progressively. The more electricity is consumed the higher the charge. But consumers are complaining and many say they would object paying. “The ministry should first regularize and increase power supplies before imposing heavy charges,” one Baghdad resident, refusing to be named, said. However, Modaris said the ministry was determined to collect the money and urged consumers to pay. “The the citizens must pay their electricity bills and cooperate with collectors. The money is needed to do the necessary repairs to the national grid and new units,” he said. He declined to comment on power cuts and when the ministry thought they would come to an end. http://www.azzaman.com/english/index.asp?fname=news\2010-11-15\kurd.htm

  19. One of the reasons why it has taken so long to put together a new Iraqi government is because no one trusts Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki. All of the major parties have accused him of autocratic tendencies and abusing his power. The premier’s use of the security forces for his own political ends in Diyala province is a perfect example. continued http://musingsoniraq.blogspot.com/2010/11/why-no-one-trusts-maliki-example-of.html
