Nominated President of the Kurdistan region, Massoud Barzani, on Tuesday, the commander of Air Force Lt. Gen. Zebari said that "Barzani raise the new name of the candidate to the President of the Iraqi Council of Ministers commander of the armed forces, Haider al-Abadi."

 It is noteworthy that Lt. Gen. Anwar Hama Amin served as commander of the Air Force since 2008 and until now. 

The local media quoted, on Monday evening, (June 29, 2015), a spokesman for the Office of the Iraqi Prime Minister Saad al-Hadithi, the general commander of the armed forces, Haider al-Abadi, issued an order to refer the Army Chief of Staff Babacar Zebari team to retire.
