Protection of Iraqi money in US banks to be discussed by Maliki, MP

BAGHDAD/ Aswat al-Iraq: Premier Nouri al-Maliki will discuss during hisWashingtonvisit a number of important dossiers, including the protection of Iraqi funds in US banks, MP said here today.

Parliamentary Security and Defence MP Abbas al-Bayati clarified to Aswat al-Iraq today that "Maliki's visit is important due to the importance of the dossiers to be discussed between the two sides".

He added that the talks will establish a strategic long term relationship between the two countries in all fields, pointing that the most is the protection of Iraqi funds at the US banks, which as made by a US decree by president Barrack Obama.

Bayati confirmed that military and security issues and the situation in the region shall be present in the bilateral talks, in addition to convening a joint conference on investment opportunities inIraq, which shall be attended by American companies and businessmen.

Premier Maliki arrived yesterday to Washingto to meet President Obama to discuss the implementation of the Strategic Framework Agreement following American forces withdrawal at the end of this month.

The immunity of the American trainers shall be also discussed, in addition to economic, trade and educational relations.
