A soldier returning after World War II picked up the phone as soon as he found one that worked to call his mom who lived in Texas and tell her that he was coming home and she was so excitied. After the excitement subsided a little he said mom i am bringing someone home that has had a ruff time, the war has messed him up he is missing one leg, one arm, and one eye and really needs to feel loved right now. He noticed there was silence and his mom finally spoke up and said i really can't say that i approve of this but ok..

A few days later she got a call from the Army saying her son had jumped out of a 5 story window and committed sucide. They said his personal belongings should arrive anytime and her son would be about a week to process and ship. His mother recieved his belongings the next day and while going thru his things she came across a letter that said to mom open when you recieve this.

The letter said this::::Dear Mom at first you were so excited when i said i was coming home but when i said something to you about the man with one arm, one leg, one eye missing and he really needed some love and understanding you hestitated and said you really didn't approve well i am that man. When i got off the phone with you i began to cry because in your voice i seen that i was not welcome there any more. You see i left my home to go fight for our country and a land mine messed me up and by talking to you i seen that i have no home anymore. I could not bare to live knowing i had no home to be welcomed to and a mother who really didn't want someone in her house that was crippled. Remember i love you, your son chuck.
