Sara Johnson
State of Law Alliance strives to withdraw trust from MP Iyad Allawi - MP 6/14/2011 3:12 PM BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: The State of Law Alliance is striving to withdraw the Parliamentary trust from the Chairman of al-Iraqiya Coalition and Legislature, Iyad Allawi, due to his non-attendance of the Parliament’s sessions, the State of Law’s MP, Haitham al-Jibouri said on Tuesday. “The State of Law is striving to collect signatures to withdraw the trust from the Chairman of al-Iraqiya Coalition, Iyad Allawi, due to his non-attendance of the Parliament’s sessions and attacks against the political process,” Jibouri told Aswat al-Iraq news agency. Jibouri called on Allawi to “present his resignation from the Parliament, due to his non-attendance of its sessions, but for one session only, when he stayed for few minutes only.” “Al-Iraqiya bloc holds 10 cabinet ministries, as well as the post of Deputy Prime-Minister for Services Affairs,” he said, charging that “al-Iraqiya did not present any services for the citizens, despite fact that the Deputy Prime-Minister enjoys full authorities,” confirming the “presence of an attempt by the Chairman of the National Coalition, Ibrahim al-Jaafari and the Sadrist Trend to pacify the conflict between the State of Law and the Iraqi Coalitions.” http://en.aswataliraq.info/Default1.aspx?page=article_page&id=143151&l=1
