URGENT: PM Maliki orders opening all closed Baghdad streets

BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: Iraq’s Prime Minister, on his capacity as the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, has ordered the armed forces to open all the closed streets in Baghdad on Wednesday, according to an urgent Report by the semi-official al-Iraqiya TV Network.

“The Commander-in-Chief of the Iraqi Armed Forces, Nouri al-Maliki, has ordered all the military forces to open all the closed streets of Baghdad, without any exception,” the Network said.

Most of the said Baghdad streets were closed by the Iraqi authorities after Iraq’s occupation by the U.S.-led forces in 2003.
