Actually China is number 3 out of the top 15 holders of US Debt. Number 1 is the Federal Reserve system banks and other US governmental holdings. The Fed holds $5.351 Trillion in US Debt, whereas China only holds $895.6 Billion is US Treasury Debt. BTW the Federal Reserve Banks are independent, privately owned banks.
