k98nights
Iraq’s U.S. arms purchase priced at $13 billion Saturday, January 8th 2011 10:08 AM Erbil, Jan.8 (AKnews)- The deputy Iraqi defense minister said under a contract between Iraq and the U.S., the former will purchase armaments priced at 13,000,000,000 U.S. Dollars from the latter till 2013. Speaking to AKnews Friday, Mohammed ‘Askari said the armaments include warplanes, tanks, armored vehicles, helicopters, naval ships and ammunition. The official said currently the contract is underway and sorts of weaponry have reached Iraq. The U.S. forces are now training the Iraqi forces to operate the armaments. ‘Asked if the arming can provoke concerns for the neighbors, the deputy defense minister said the arming is not to confront any neighbors for “the Iraqi army does not have the ability to confront any country right now.” Nevertheless, he stressed Iraq has the right to arm his forces. ‘Askari believed Iraq needs to double the U.S. purchase volume to “fully arm and empower” the Iraqi forces to safeguard the interior and borders’ security. DannoMo
Depends on the terms of the agreement to pay but yes, I agree, and that there is anecdotal evidence that shipments have occurred, well, as has been said by so many IMMINENT!
