Iraqi member Mohammad alawi said in a contact with (the) that his list does not negotiate with the coalition on the positions of the rule of law during their talks, adding that we negotiated on general guidelines regarding the formation of the government.

Allawi accused a coalition of law fabricating false document ومزخرفة diversion to the media, he said that what was published by the media on a document demands special بالعراقية is not true and fabricated and that the document was forged. He said we have the religious authority in Najaf by refusing to Al-Maliki to head the government, saying that the Prime Minister Iyad Allawi held a telephone call with Mr. Muqtada al-Sadr told him it by refusing to Al-Maliki.

The local media has published a document pointed out a number of demands it said the Iraqi list demands which include the position as president of the republic and the parliament and the ministries of defence and interior, in addition to the 16 others.

I have hoped for some time that Sistani would get involved and use his high religous office to nudge the parties to a solution and form a government. Like that Allawi contacted him. IMO best bet is that Mahadi gets selected and Sastani's support gives enough "cover" so defectors can leave Maliki to get to the majority needed to form. If not, then bring in the UN.
