New new U.S. ambassador to Iraq, James Jeffrey, his country's commitment to change the nature of their relations with Iraq as part of the strategic framework agreement.

This came at a ceremony at the Iraqi Embassy in Washington yesterday to welcome Jeffrey.

He welcomed the Iraqi ambassador to the United States, Samir Sumaida'ie American counterpart, wishing him success in the performance of his duties. Intends to Jeffrey, who left Washington yesterday on his way to Baghdad, delivered his credentials to Iraqi President Jalal Talabani to be formally adopted as U.S. ambassador to Iraq.

Ambassador Jeffrey: The «change experienced by Iraq during the past five years thanks to the sacrifices of the Iraqi people and Government», noting that «the United States committed to changing the nature of their relations with Iraq under the framework agreement strategic containing items important for cooperation in the areas of education, culture, science and technology».

Jeffrey also explained in a statement to transfer site »Radio Sawa» force would protect the American embassy in Baghdad after the withdrawal of combat troops from Iraq, but will rely mainly on the Iraqi army and security services.

It should be noted that Jeffrey served as ambassador to Turkey and vice chairman of the U.S. Mission in Baghdad between 2004 and 2005 before he was appointed charge d'affaires in Baghdad.

Jeffrey enjoys extensive experience in the Middle East, where also served in Kuwait and Tunisia, as well as other European countries.
