BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: Following is a summary of news reports posted until 10:00 p.m. Baghdad local time Tuesday – June 22:

*Politics:

BAGHDAD - Head of the Supreme Iraqi Islamic Council (SIIC), Ammar al-Hakim, arrived in Damascus on Tuesday in an official visit to the country, according to an official statement.

BAGHDAD - Oil Minister Hussein al-Shahrestani announced on Tuesday that the Council of Ministers decided to cut power to the Green Zone, ministries, official departments and officials’ houses to save more than 1000 Megawatt to be added to the national network.

BAGHDAD - Iraqi President Jalal Talabani will raise during his participation in the quintuple summit next Monday the Arab support to Iraq file, according to the Iraqi Presidency Council’s chief-of-staff Naseer al-Aani.

NINEWA - Two women and a man were killed by a sticky bomb explosion in eastern Mosul, a police source said.

*Economy:

BAGHDAD - Iraq’s Council of Ministers agreed on Tuesday to release the oil-producing provinces’ share of money received from the oil production, according to a statement of the spokesman of the Iraqi government’s office.

MISSAN - More than 10 billion dinars have been allocated to support the electricity system in Missan, governor said on Tuesday.

KARBALA - The Council of Ministers has allocated 10 billion dinars to develop the electricity grid in Karbala, chairman of the reconstruction and strategic planning committee of the Karbala council said on Tuesday.

WASSIT - Al-Ahdab Oil Company started on Tuesday extending pipelines toward al-Nassiriya and al-Zabiediya plant in north of Kut, a media official said.

*Variety:

ANBAR - Hundreds of people on Tuesday staged a massive demonstration in central Ramadi due to electricity shortages, according to a member of the Anbar council.
