Basra plans to establish an industrial city

Basra, June 17 (AKnews) - "Basra province will implement some projects financed by Basra's budget at a cost of more than 50 billion Iraqi dinars in many service areas," Basra governor announced on Thursday.

"Many projects will be implemented and financed by the budget of Basra province at a cost of more than 50 billion Iraqi dinars in many service areas and the first project is to establish an industrial city for 40 billion dinars that includes industrial parks of various sizes and will be distributed on the industrial sector," Shiltagh Abboud said.

"The other project is an irrigation project that starts from Kuteiban river at the Iranian border and then to the FAW and the value of this project is more than ten billion Iraqi dinars and there is another project that is importing 200 electricity generators from an Iraqi company in Diyala province."

About his recent visit to Amman and London, Shiltagh abboud said that he "agreed with the mayor of London municipality to send a British company that takes control and a Jordanian delegation consisting of 70 members that will reach Basra on the 26th of this month to discuss investment opportunities in Basra (550 km south of the Iraqi capital Baghdad).
