Martin Dempsey confirmed the possibility of resorting the international coalition to use ground forces to liberate the areas controlled by elements of the terrorist organization in Iraq and Syria. He said in a press statement: "We are confident that we offer assistance to Iraqis to prevent the fall of Baghdad," noting that "Iraqi forces have taken defensive measures in the vicinity of the capital, Baghdad, and we do not believe that there is the possibility of the fall of Baghdad."
