The Central Bank said in a statement: “The Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq, Mustafa Ghaleb Makhif, received the Indian Ambassador to Iraq Prashant Bissai. During the meeting, they discussed strengthening bilateral relations, especially economic, and providing banking services to the Iraqi community in India for the purpose of treatment, study, trade and others, as well as exchanging banking experiences. He added that "the efforts of the Central Bank of Iraq are focused on strengthening its relations with its counterparts in various countries, and international financial and banking institutions, in the interest of the Iraqi banking sector. The Governor stressed "the importance of achieving the exchange of experiences in the field of electronic payment and banking technologies between the two countries, and that India is an advanced country in this field."
