amounting to 1.47 billion dollars (0.4 billion dinars)

    $ 1.47 billion USD=0.4 billion IQD, therefore, 1 IQD=1.47 USD/ 0.4 IQD=

3.7 USD. Is this the rate of 3.7 USD that CBI wants to get the rate back to what it was? Hopefully, that number " 1.47 billions USD=0.4 billion dinars " wasn't an error. And from the original article, it really showed the numbers " 1.47 " and " 0.4 ".

Come on iraq, whom are you trying to fool? The government said " NOT READY ", yeah yeah yeah and then, suddenly BOOM BOOM RV SURPRISES dinar investors. I prefer keep a close attention to what he does, not what he says because CBI won't announce the date and the rate ahead of time because it is supposed to be a secret.

Then, how come the rate is still 0.00068 USD? Come on iraq, if you want to be called the highest economic growth among the Arab Gulf stated, then you have to rv your currency at the highest rate, too =3+ bucks. Then, what are you waiting for? This is the right time to do it. Just push the rv button and we all are happy as dinar holders and ordinary iraq citizens to have a higher purchasing power.

Remember, no one really  knows what will happen, or when. They're simply stating their opinions based on what they perceive to be happening in Iraq... :twothumbs:RON

** Frank26   [Firefly boots-on-the-ground Iraqi TV update] FIREFLY: ...They're saying that Iraq can return to the previous dollar exchange rate... Frank:  Man this is happening fast!  So now they're talking about the RI? FIREFLY: ...because the current exchange rate is hurting Iraqi citizens... Frank: ..the education is louder and stronger and it is fast every day but more importantly it is from the CBI governor of Iraq praise God.

If the CBI were saying that iraq can return to previous rate, the ordinary iraqi citizens only pay attention to the process of exchanging old dinar for a new lower denoms. Only iraqi importers or exporters and businessmen will pay attention for a rate change when the RV/RI happens one day. I wish i can watch and listen ( in english subtitle ) on youtube what they talked on Iraqi TV.

Al-Zubaidi is just a regular citizen now just like you and me giving his opinion on Facebook just like you and me….

OH, he has nothing to do with the Dinar exchange rate just like you and me….

Hope I was helpful with some of your questions….

Thanks for your clarification DoD. You had been helpful enough.

" The latter in the oil sector, which means the ability to restore the exchange rate of the dollar against the dinar to what it was.”

Al- zubaidi was just former minister of interior. By the way, what is the job of minister of interior? Has he still been a former minister of interior until right now? What is his current job position right now? How come he is allowed to talk about " restore the rate to what it was "? Is he a part of CBI's employee or something? Finally, Let's just wait and see if Al-zubaidi really really has the ability to restore the rate to what it was.

Thanks for bringing the article over Luigi.

The article talks nothing about an RV, it speaks of removing the zeros. Forgot the RV and ask questions about raising the zeros and adding value to the currency…

If i say if the CBI really remove 3 zeros from the exchange rate someday, then the iqd will become a stronger currency. For example, right now 1 IQD=0.00068 USD, after delete 3 zeros 1 IQD=0.68 USD. So, from 1 IQd=0.00068 USD to 1 IQD=0.68 USD isn't called revaluation? Therefore, won't remove 3 zeros point to rv?

I kept waiting to see if you would ask the question if the CBI governor asked for this discussion. Did the CBI governor give any guidance for the discussion. What was the response from the CBI governor after he received the results from the discussion.

I guess my questions are a lot different from yours….

I like your questions DoD. But i have a doubt that the CBI governor will discuss about " rv the iqd " and announce the date and the rate openly to the publics.

  11. What took the cbi too long to rv the iqd? What is holding up the rv?

    1.) The corruption? Or

2.) waiting to appoint the new PM ( whoever he is )  after recount? Or

3.) waiting for the price of oil to go up above $100/barrel? Or

4.) Waiting for Al kazemi to become a new PM for a second term? Or

5.) waiting for Shabibi to be appointed again to become a governor of CBI ( is it possible? )? Or

6.) Waiting for malaki and his friends to be put behind bars ( for the rest of their lives ) or death sentences for the corruptions they had been doing it? Or

7.) Waiting until the lives of all ordinary iraqi citizens become prosperous?

On the last page of the Future of Iraq Summary Document (The Bush-Cheney Plan) that was declassified in 2012, it states that the ultimate goal (besides the restoration of Iraq's infrastructure) is to restore the IQD back to the pre-Saddam rate of $3.33 (also known as the Golden Dinar).

This doesn't mean it was to happen all at once. CBI Governor Shabibi  wrote the plan of lifting the three zeros (whatever that really means - now we're not sure). Remember there were 11 denomination notes printed for the New IQD - the 6 largest were to be initially used until such time as the rate was significantly changed to warrant the use of the small denomination notes.

I hope this gives a bit of hope ans encourgement..! :salute: RON

Thanks Ron. Actually,  it is up to CBI to decide the rate. The dinar holders just hope for a better rate than the current rate 1,460. Now, we just have to wait a little bit longer and see who is going to be the next new PM after recount.

There is no need for a RV/RI at this time.

Iraq citizens don't need RV because when this baby pops one day, the iraqi citizens can only exchange their old dinars for a new lower denoms with a higher purchasing power in the country of iraq. Only dinar holders can exchange dinar for dollars out of iraqi country when the rv comes one day.

Thanks 64jaguar. You are so right. It is safer to put money in the bank just enough for a small few daily transaction.
