In my humble old opinion  Iraq has already set up the most advanced digital banking system ever conceived  , Basel 3 ,maybe 4 .    Several weeks ago , Biden "allowed " Iraq to purchase electric power from Iran for the next couple of months ,extending some kind of embargo against Iran . This was concurrent with Biden condemning Iran bigtime . What can be taken from that? My take is that the US wants to keep Iraq happy .  With USD allegedly evaporating from Iraq on the first of the year , IQD must become a viable currency. Otherwise , Iraqis will rise up , starvation makes you do that .

  Previously ,most of the USD auctioned off by the CBI was sold directly back to the cbi to allegedly strengthen foreign reserves . I have tracked the currency auctions for years , and I can tell you in the past the cbi was  extremely careless in the innerweb stuff they put out for the world to see . The dates they posted for the auctions included dates like  23/ 14/ 20 , and many more like this . They did no editing on what they were putting out there  , for no other reason other than they didn't give a shite . As dead Med said , no rv without the termination of the auctions

   Yep . US still holds the purse strings , but this will come to an end , per the Strategic Framework Agreement , if the US will still  honor this agreement . As far as the electronic platform  ,I am of the belief that even the lower denoms will be included on this platform.. The printing of lower denoms is too massive of a secret to hold , as the printing and distribution would involve hundreds of people . An image of a lower denom would already  have been leaked

Screwball , Thanks for the tip . I compared major  currency charts , and they all have the same pattern more or less . The IQD /USD chart is absolutely insane , indicating to me that something is up .

Ok , went down a rabbit hole that I can't get back to , but a  UK forex site declares that it will be a volatile week regarding the value of the IQD .

  For what it's worth ,  Oanda  shows the IQD trading in the right direction , the buy being more rate  than the ask rate and below the 1300 official rate . Hang tight ,crazy diamonds .

When we invaded Iraq in2003 , we rendered their currency valueless ,wiping out the savings and operating cash of most Iraqis .Did they then go out with whatever resources they had and purchase the new IQD and stuff them under their mattrasses ? The new IQD was worthless and unwieldy , taking 2 wheelbarrows full of IQD to purchase 1 wheelbarrow . Knowing Iraqis the way I do , if anything is under their mattrasses it is gold . Don't forget how expensive the new IQD was to produce ,with their gold threads , anagrams , heavy paper ,oxblood ,etc, ,making them "uncounterfeitable ". It is safe to assume that the new IQD was printed in a limited edition.  All of us IQD holders heard about this via word of mouth ,and relatively speaking there is not that many of us  . I do believe that most IQD are held in the foreign reserves of countries . Hang tough , you crazy diamonds .

According to forex , there is 0 .0000 movement today regarding iqd/usd . This happens on weekends , but normally not during the week . Other countries show slight movement today.

It does make some sense that the IQD would come out at a rate high enough to  prohibit speculation .
