  1. Heard about this yesterday and after some basic research can say with 95% certainty that this is bogus. It loosely references facts from an assassination attempt on Maliki in 2006.
  2. djcrzyc - you don't want to know the answer to that.. dinardummy- and I am just calling you that because it is your name since a can of soda and a loaf of bread is about 6000 dinars, let's say that the poorest Iraqi makes at least 5000 dinar per day (basic survival) 5000 dinar per day x20 days per month = 100,000 dinars per month 100,000 dinars per month x12 months = 1,200,000 dinars per year minimum If it RV's 1:1 with the USD tomorrow, every poor person in Iraq will instantly be wealthy. They might not keep it in the bank but they WILL be wealthy. Now, again, the problem with that is Iraq need someone to rebuild the country. The poor are the ones doing it now. When everyone becomes rich, who will do it?
  3. Unfortunately, there have been instances of RD in other countries where the borders were closed and citizens were given a fixed time to exchange old bills for new... We would be sol if this happened. I have a question: Let's assume the average Iraqi has millions of dinars since a loaf of bread costs 3000 iqd. If it RV's tomorrow, who will work the next day? The country needs people to rebuild but everyone will be rich.. How will that work?
  4. Wait... At&t loses the iphone in july... Verizon iphone coming this fall
  5. dwayne919 - Thank you for sharing some real intel from your son. God bless him and all of our troops!
  6. If the dealers "knows" that an RV is coming next week, THEN WHY WOULD THEY SELL YOU ANY DINARS TODAY AND NOT HOLD EVERY DINAR THEY HAVE??? Hmmm.. should I sell this guy a million dinars for $1000, or wait til next week and sell them to the bank for a $1,000,000........tough choice! Oh boy, lot of dreamin going on here...
  7. EVERBANK.COM seems to be the only one... this is an informative link on the subject: http://economics.about.com/b/2007/11/07/foreign-dollar-accounts-at-us-banks-a-readers-question.htm

  10. what's the source of this info?
  11. wouldn't there have to be alot of "smaller dinar bill" movement to the banks all over Iraq to get ready for the masses right before an RV? wouldn't someone working at a bank see this and leak it to the international press? wouldn't Maliki start throwing "trial balloons" out there about an upcoming RV to drive as much International investment as possible leading up to the RV?
  12. http://news.google.com/news?hl=en&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&hs=gvS&q=iraqi%20dinar&oq=&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=wn of all the stories on this page there are only 2 from credible sources... 1. army.mil (actual army site) 2. nyt.com the others, could just be someone sitting in their garage making stuff up as they go

    Chase

are you talking about an account specifially dealing with EFT (your Warka acct) or your regular US savings/checking acct? I don't think Chase would halt any US operations for an RV (but Warka would...)
  14. what documents and what is the source of this info?
  15. I have been actively following this forum for several weeks and believe me I want an RV as badly as everyone here! That being said, we should all pause for a minute and examine the difference between facts and propaganda. To that point, I just have a few comments: 1. Adam, you have done a great job with this site and your book was very useful to see the "Big Picture" of this investment 2. A good rule for this forum should be, if someone is going to post a "fact" include a link so others can look it up and verify. 3. If you are honest with yourselves, stories of "Hillarious endorsing the dinar" and "Trump buying 30 million worth" are not proven "facts"... 4. CNN, FoxNews, CNBC, MSNBC, NBC, Reuters, AP, etc... are news organizations that report facts (disregard their political bias, but they will not report things that are blatantly made up simply because if their competition proves they do, they will lose all credibility) 5. Sources like "Black Hills Today" which did the "Hillarious endorses story" and, conveniently enough, the "Trump buys Dinars" story is a source I personally have never heard of (and I work in media). Just because it is spidered on Google News does not make it a real news outlet.
  16. "The Iraqi parliament had increased the salaries of it representatives from 23.5 million Iraqi dinars per month to 36 million dinars, or about 30 thousand U.S dollars. Each representative also receives two additional sums annually, each valued at one hundred thousand dollars, bringing the declared income of each representative to a total of 560 thousand dollars per year. If the representative is not re-elected for a second term, then he or she would continue to receive their salary for an additional period of four years, before retiring with a monthly salary of six thousand dollars." WOW, What a salary!! - http://www.daralhayat.com/portalarticlendah/103738
  17. CONTINGENCY OPERATING LOCATION BASRA, Iraq -- U.S. currency may soon become difficult to find in Iraq as part of an effort to protect Soldiers and increase the value of the Iraqi dinar. Sgt. Brittany A. Raimer, a dispersing manager with the 368th Finance Management Company, 36th Sustainment Brigade, 13th Sustainment Command (Expeditionary), said eliminating the use of U.S. currency on the battlefield will help to stimulate the economy of Iraq. "One of the main focuses of finance is to ultimately eliminate U.S. currency from the battlefield," said Raimer, a Lake Charles, La., native. "Our government is implementing the use of the Iraqi dinar, to both undermine the dependency the Iraqi nationals have on American currency and to back the Dinar, greatly increasing its weight on the market." The use of electronic fund transfers to pay vendors and contractors, and urging servicemembers to rely on the Eagle Cash Card, rather than cash, are two major changes that have been implemented in Iraq to eliminate the use of cash, said Raimer. "The Eagle Cash Card enables personnel to have a direct link to the bank account without the hassle of hard cash," said Raimer. "The stored value card has been instrumental in effectively moving toward a cashless battlefield." Sgt. Toni M. Guillery, a dispersing agent with the 368th, said the Eagle Cash Card is designed to help prevent servicemembers from losing money or being robbed while in country. "Carrying a single card is better than carrying a wad of money in your pocket, but one concern that I do have is ... on the kiosks, you have to use a pin number in order to access the money, but when you go to vendors, you do not," said Guillery. "If you (fill the card) up to the max, and you lose that card, and somebody picks it up and finds it and they are a dishonest person, they can go and spend that money." Guillery said the unit only disburses U.S. currency to servicemembers who are about to go on mid-tour leave or re-deploy. Guillery said the unit disburses less than $10,000 in U.S. currency per month, but disburses more than ع.د351,000,000 (IQD), the equivalent of roughly $300,000, per month. The current exchange rate is ع.د1,170 to $1, said Guillery. Raimer said the transition away from the U.S. dollar has aided the progression of the banking industry in Iraq. Raimer said, "the progression (away from U.S. currency) has greatly supported the modernization of the banking system, thus improving and instilling trust in the local economy." ** This article is from the official site of the US Army - here is the link: http://www.army.mil/-news/2010/02/03/33906-use-of-us-dollar-in-iraq-being-reduced-to-stimulate-local-currency-economy/ Go RV!
