  1. Thanks GregHi....Well, sure as shootin'...There's a report of a 12 member Kurdish party headin' for Baghdad to discuss issues relating to the HCL...

Hi skeetdog! If it is a current delegation, I'm afraid I can't take credit for it. I know a dozen Kurdish members went to Baghdad on the 17th of Jan, but the last news I heard was Baghdad decided Not to change the exchange rate until oil prices go back up. And ever since then, he hasn't heard any further news! Hopefully now that oil is going up some they will finally get this done!

  2. THANKS YOTA FOR STAYING ON TOP OF THIS

Yes, Yota, Thank you!! I appreciate all the articles you bring! If you see one that talks about Barzani signing a 20 year contract with Turkey to sell them oil directly, could you please post it in my "what I heard" thread? I really want to make sure I see it.. You are amazing, and we appreciate you!! Although the contract may be voided if the Kurds get Baghdad to give them everything they want..

  3. Update 1-26-16

Guys, I wish I had more positive news to update everyone on, but it is what it is and I don’t Sugar coat anything. So I will tell you exactly what my Kurdish friend told me tonight at work and then I will give my opinion on what I think is happening for what it’s worth..

What my friend told me tonight:

Over the weekend my friend got 2 phone calls. One from the Kurdish Finance member that helped come up with the rate proposal and the other from the head of the Kurdish Parl security. My friend said both people said the same thing. The Kurds did meet with Baghdad on the 17th of January as planned. During the meeting when the exchange rate change was brought up for discussion, Baghdad said due to the current low price of oil, increasing the Dinars value would hurt the economy and that they would reconsider a rate change once the price of oil went back up. So this essentially stopped everything related to a rate change. My friend also told me that Barzani is fed up with Baghdad, really fed up!! According to my friend the north has reduced salaries by 50% while Baghdad only reduced their salaries by 3%. He also said in the next few days or weeks we will see where Barzani has now signed a 20 year contract with Turkey to sell oil directly to them, bypassing Baghdad all together. This is already essentially done, just waiting for the ink to dry and Baghdad is furious.

    My Opinion:

There is a TON of corruption in Baghdad. These guys are doing everything they can to keep change from happening. As a result they are making the Kurds and the rest of the world mad because they are dragging their feet. They don’t want anything to change because they know they won’t be able to pillage Iraq anymore. They are going to Bankrupt Iraq soon if either the IMF or PTB, or whoever, don’t  intervene to make them change. Could the IMF force Iraq to RV anyway? Possible, who knows.. Time will tell.

Again, Im sorry it’s not positive news, but it is what he told me. I will of course let you know if I hear more. As always take this as rumor.. Hopefully the IMF will force them to do what they need to do.. We shall see..

  4. My Kurdish friend has always said no one reads the news because it is always opinions or stories.. (Trust me... This is a hard pill for me to swallow also since I hate gurus and articles are all we have). But seeing a story with a picture that is from the Internet somewhere, should make us question everything.. JMO!!

  5. thanks greghi your giving me hope

I'm glad. I personally feel completely at ease now. I am just hanging out waiting on it to happen. I will always pass on my friends Intel that he hears whether it's good or bad. I'm not a cheerleader, I'm a realist.. But from what he has told me since Thanksgiving, it's all positive news coming from him who is generally a negative person so I know it's good! We shall see!

  6. thanks Gregp.

Can I ask you and greghi how long you think it will take to see the RV. From the news I have seen reported it appears that they are intending to devalue the dinar this year which I hope is smoke

Dinarbeliever, from my perspective the "devalue" articles are opinion pieces and smoke from people that are guessing and writing articles. My friend told me last week that he hasn't heard anything new but the new rate has been proposed (from the Kurdish point of view) to Baghdad on the 17th. It's in the final stage at this point. Even my friend said it is unlikely that they would do all this work only to implement it months later. So he thinks it will happen quickly. He said they were given 2 months to get it to Baghdad, and they did.. So I wish I knew the next timeline for implementing it. I will keep asking him if he has any new news for us..

  7. Sorry if I caused confusion. I use the same GtegHi on PD and Greg on cc so I tried to keep it the same as one of those... "Hi" is simply the beginning of my last name. I can see how it would look funny now to gregp and I'm sorry. I apologize also to dinarbeliever.. ;) I just wish this thing would hurry up and pop so we can get on with the next chapter in our lives!!!

  8. Dinarbrliever - sorry you don't buy my story.. I have been on 2 other sites for 5 or 6 years. When I first posted what my Kurdish friend told me on another site someone asked me if I was gregp from here. Because he also had some Intel involving a bank auditor... So I joined DV a couple of months ago primarily to see what gregp had to say.. I assure you, I am not gregp, however I do have a Kurdish friend that I work with that has friends in the Kurdish Parliment and even friends in Baghdad.. Possibly similar to gregp, I'm not sure. I do not lie! I hate lieing gurus, but I feel if I can provide some real info to everyone via my friend, maybe we can all get through this a little better.. So dinarbeliever, feel free to not read any further anything that I post.. For everyone else, I know that the delegation of 12 came to Baghdad on the 17th. As of last night when I talked to my friend, he had not heard any further news at this point. Obviously if i do hear anything new, I will be sure to pass it along.

  9. GregHi? Does this artocle sound promising?

    Indy

Hi Indy.. I "think" more Kurds are in Baghdad now because Parliment is now in session. The 12 members that came to Baghdad on the 17th were there for a private meeting and they mainly consisted of the finance guys that came up with the pricing index and exchange rate proposal. In other words, this article maybe referring to other Kurdish leaders that may not be related to my friends Intel... not really sure... I am on a slightly different shift at work this week, so I may not get to see my friend this week. But if I do, and he has any further info, I will post it for everyone..

  10. DId he say why they have to raise the exchange rate within 2 months?

No. And it wasn't 2 months to raise the rate, it was to submit the proposal to Baghdad, which is why they had the meeting yesterday. (So they did it in about 1 and 1/2 months). For some reason he kept saying that which led me to believe they are on some kind of timeline to get all of this going in a certain order maybe??? I also asked him if he was sure that the dinar we hold would go up in value and not be a lop type of scenario and he confirmed the dinars we hold will increase in value.. He didn't know how much or when, but he assumed once they met in Baghdad, (yesterday) things would happen quickly after that.

  11. Thanks shedagal!! I bought my 1st dinars in April of 2004, joined a couple of other sites around 2010 or 2011. I always believed in the possibility of the RV, but was a realist and some viewed me as a pessimist when I would bring up the possibility of it loping. I just tried to look at it from all sides. I have known my Kurdish friend for about 5 or 6 years now but didn't really talk to him all that much about the dinar until about 6 months ago. He is a more negative person than me, about Iraq, the Government, etc. so when he changed his tune around Thanksgiving and told me that he had gotten a call from a friend of his describing they were planning to raise the exchange rate of the dinar and they had 2 months to Get it done, it got my attention. If he changed his attitude about the possible RV that quickly, I knew he heard something for real. He had nothing to gain, as a matter of fact, in telling me what he heard, he kind of made himself look bad because he was so negative about Iraq and the whole RV idea from the start. So here we are.. I think the GOI vote is about to happen then implementation.. My friend thinks the last few chain of events will happen quickly, so we shall see!!

  12. I will say it, I am impressed with GregHi's information.  Thanks again GregHi and brokerkeith!

Thanks drj!! Just like everyone else here, just lucky to have a friend that is so well connected especially from the Kurdish side.. I don't go back to work till tomorrow night and that's when I will see my friend. If he has any more news I will relay it, but hopefully this is so close to being over that I wouldn't have time to report any news anyway before we are all at the banks.. ;)

  13. FYI,

Yota has posted several articles over the last few days confirming the Kurds are in town for meetings to discuss points of contention.

Below is a small portion of one of the articles I copied-n-pasted....

See Highlighted Section at The End to Confirm Kurds Are In Town:

Says MP Salim Shawki, a member of the legal committee of parliamentary, that "the most important priorities of the House of Representatives in the next legislative term is the legislation of the amnesty law after obtaining the recent substantial convergence of views between the various political blocs when reduced exceptions, which were hampering passed, to only seven ".

He adds Shawki told the "term" that "the Federal Court Act will occupy the second stage in the hierarchy of the concerns of the Parliament during the next chapter because it arrived at the stage of voting."He pointed out that "the coming days there will be talks between the national and Kurdish coalitions to agree on some points of contention".

As GregHi stated, you may not read about certain meetings being attended, but here is confirmation Kurds are in town for discussions.

       :peace:

    Thank you brokerkeith!!

  14. Perhaps, Greg Hi, you ARE the someone who said the Kurdistan delegation would be there!  LOL

Lol I didn't think about that.. But I'm not part of her site, even though I do enjoy reading her posts on other forums that people bring in.. Well regardless, she is correct, this is all about to be over my friends!! If I hear more from my friend I will let you know, but it may all be over before that anyway!! ;)

  16. Thanks everyone!! As far as I know everything is still on track! I'm just hoping we see a small article that says a small Kurdish delegation of 12 heads to Baghdad on the 17th. Because that's when it all really begins! How long it takes to implement after that is anyone's guess. I just want to see that small article about the 17th so everyone will know it's real. ;)
