Anyone who thinks our problems began with President Obama should not be calling anyone an idiot! Makes you seem a little uniformed or partisan. Anyone who makes the following statements has to be questioned as to the sanity and/or intentions of these comments. His three main goals are to control ENERGY, PUBLIC EDUCATION, and NATIONAL HEALTHCARE by the Federal government. He doesn't care about the auto or financial services industries, but got them as an early bonus. Someone please explain to me how the auto industry is under government control? Did we nationalize the auto industry without everyone noticing? Do the following manufacturers building cars in the United States have to report to our government: Ford, Toyota, BMW, Mercedes Benz, Nissan, Hyundai, Kia, Kenworth, Peterbilt. No, they don't. You see, when you claim that Obama "Nationalized" or "Socialized" the auto industry, you're simply responding to the Fox News dog whistle. It's not even close to being the truth. When an industry is "Nationalized" that means that the government takes control of "all means of production". This is clearly not the case. Obviously the same can be said for the financial services industry. Have you seen the recent profits posted by the big 6 banks, who by the way control about 60% of US GDP. They appear to be working as capitalist enterprises quite well for their shareholders and executive management. Also, someone please explain how mandating that individuals buy a product from a private/public insurance company is "government control'? Seems to me he's more in the pocket of the insurance industry than the federal government. Maybe he can have Newt explain it to us, since he was all for the "mandate" back in the 90's as on option to Hillarious care........ Oh, wait, he's flipped on that flop now. Sarah Palin is sincere and intelligent, but needs to really be seriously boning up on facts and info if she is to be a serious candidate in the future. I'll save the cheesy comments about Mrs Palin for later in the debate, but if she is so intelligent, why would she need to be "seriously boning up on facts and info"????? If she is so intelligent, wouldn't she already know the basic facts? Is Mr. Krauthammer insane or dumb? No, he's a very intelligent man who makes some very valid points on occaision. For example: 9. The current level of spending is irresponsible and outrageous. I agree, but does Mr. Krauthammer think we all believe overspending only started in 2009 after President Obama was inaugurated? Or after January 2007 when the Democrats took control of congress? Maybe he should check out Medicare Part D and see what it has been doing to our annual deficits since it was passed before these two dates. So we've determined that he's not insane or dumb, so what could his intentions be? Maybe to completely misinform the public via Fox News to keep the status quo in Washington. Fox wins either way. They either get 4 more years of Obama bashing (and big ratings from the right) or they get unprecidented access to the federal governement / White House if the Republican wins (they're going to want something for all this free advertising!). I'm sure you all remember what you heard about it on Fox News, but none of you bothered to research the loan that was given to Petrobras. Was the Obama Administration involved in this loan? NO! From the Export Import Bank's own website regarding the FACTS of the loan there is the following quote: It is notable that the Bank's bipartisan Board of Directors unanimously approved the preliminary commitment to Petrobras on April 14, 2009, before any Obama appointees joined the Bank. In fact, at the time the Bank's Board consisted of three Republicans and two Democrats, all of whom were appointed by President George W. Bush. But, but, but.... they're giving a bunch of monehy to Brazillian company! NO, they are not. From the same site: The Bank has established a $2 billion financing opportunity for Petrobras to use solely for the purchase of American-made goods and services. So far, Ex-Im has approved $300 million to finance Petrobras' purchase of U.S. oil and gas equipment and services. The funds go to American exporters as payment for their sales to the Petrobras. If Petrobras fails to award contracts to U.S. companies for the remaining amount, it will not access those dollars. But, but, but........ they still shouldn't be using our tax dollars for this. For supposedly espousing the Constitution and Democracy, some of these Wisconsin Tea Partiers should be watched very closely. Sounds like they'd like to rig the recall of Governor Scott Walker. Agree, it's a little early, but the primary begins in about 60 days. Too late now for any more additions to the field, so this is it. This batch of flawed candidates is what we have to choose from to run in the general election. These clips took me about 30 seconds each to find on google or you tube. Remember, the President's team is is the same team that took Hillarious and the Clinton machine out of the Democratic primary (most powerful Democratic operation and most liked Democratic family in the last 40 - 50 years) and then beat the Republican machine of Karl Rove and the RNC (which had held the White House for the last 8 years and congress since 1994). What do you think it's going to look like when the current administration and it's election machine get fired up come June or July. They are going to destroy this group.

And yet you (and a lot of others) bash Obama at every turn, so one may tend to think you (and them) are "stuck in one way of thinking". And maybe when you always want to bash Obama even when he's done the right thing or when you want to defend the Obama bashers when they are indefensible, you should suffer some negatives. Sheriff Joe is an great American, but he is way out of his depth on this one. He has no jurisdiciton on this issue. Plus it would be interesting to see if he is doing this on taxpayer paid phones, faxes and his "company time". If he's wasting the dollars of Maricopa County taxpayers to chase a unicorn, he should be removed from office. Is he taking vacation days to go to Florida for this Tea Party rally? I wish more Americans had the nads to implore their member of Congress to try and fix our country. No more symbolic votes on "in God We Trust" which did nothing, no more votes on "abortion restrictions" (there have been at least 7 so far this year), no more votes on DOMA. Nothing! Bring the Senate and the House together and let's come up with a plan to fix the issues in this country. Cut some spending, raise some taxes, end some loopholes, invest in our country, get our kids educated for the next big boom, and get us off of fossil fuels. These two sentences right here are the perfect argument against tax cuts to create jobs. You can cut corporate and business tax rates to zero if you want, but if that corporation or business doesn't have any buyers for their products, they are not going to hire. Doesn't matter how low their taxes are, doesn't matter how many regulations they clean off the books to allow them to operate freely, and it doesn't matter what you do with repatriation of funds. If there is no one to buy their products due to massive unemployment and lack of consumer spending, guess what, they aren't going to create jobs. A company isn't going to hire just because their taxes (an expense) goes down, it's only going to hire if there is demand for their product that exceeds their current production capacity. As you said, they are not just going to spend money to to hire someone to do nothing. Look at it this way. If company A makes widgets made of copper. If the price of copper goes down, that company doesn't just hire more people because their expenses went down. Same thing with taxes. If company A's taxes go down, they pocket the additional profit or pay dividends with it, just like they would if they received a reduction in the price of copper. It could actually be argued that higher business taxes, like we had in the 50's and 60's would increase hiring. With higher tax rates, businesses would need more write offs to avoid the higher taxes. What would that entail? Modernizing factories, upgrading systems and software, capital expenditures...... all of these things require parts and labor to implement. Thus driving higher employment for those companies providing these items or services. edited for spelling.

Well I won't get into the debate about Fox News, because I don't have the time. But as for your other statements, maybe you should go read the post that generated this response. If you will read that, you'll see where the prior poster said "Obama Supporter" in response to my earlier post. So yes, I agree there are a lot of people on this site that make dismissive statements and call names. And are these people "like me" too or are they held to a different standard because they share your views or political affiliation? I'm also tired of all the people on this site that look down their noses at anyone that doesn't toe the right wing, media fueled mantra that all the problems we are facing are the result of the current administration. So when they take shots at me, I'm going to stand up, defend myself, and maybe take a few shots back. That's the American way. I know you may find this shocking, but there are also some people out there that can think for themselves but have different views than the majority of this site. That doesn't make them liberals, socialists, freeloaders or what ever names that side can conjur up. So when you're ready to hold both sides accountable for the same level of courtesy and decorum, please let me know.
