The Iraqi Central Bank is planning to redenominate the national currency in an effort to ease transactions and allow people to carry less paper money. A plan has been made to remove three zeros from the currency and phase out the current banknotes late this year. This is all Iraqi currency, not just the "larger notes". Is this not a LOP?

Not even 1 day of Redenomination (LOP) without a RV or RI of the Iraqi Dinar wouldn't make sense. The news didn't say that because they don't know what the RV or RI rate will be. Make no mistake, IT WILL RV or RI THE SAME DAY. It would have been nice if they would of said....IT WILL RV or RI THE SAME DAY....UNKNOWN RATE. IMO

No...it's a move forward.

Because 7 years ago, they were a war torn economy. Food, housing, etc. was cheaper. That's why they made the new currency in the first place.

Well....because a new news story just came out yesterday, that Adam couldn't have known about until yesterday. It takes a little time to digest some types of news for anyone. I'm assuming you got the news also. Why didn't you post until now....after Adam? Just curious. Adam set up this site for us investors to discuss our investment! He can't help the news if it isn't always positve. IMO

I believe that one 25,000 Dinar Bill will equal 25 Dinar at the redenomination (LOP). Yes it would maintain current value before the RV. However short that period may be! I don't think "250 one-hundred dinar notes" would buy you a coke at one Dinar because that would be 25,000 cokes for a 25,000 Dinar trade in! If you meant a "one-hundred dinar note" would buy you a coke.....that would be 250 cokes for a 25,000 Dinar trade in! I don't think that will happen either. You could probably buy roughly 22 cokes before the RV. IMO

LOP with a reval makes it feasible. IMO
