This has been modified from another source concerning windfalls, but it is my plan I intend to follow. Sorry about any to any repetition to previous posts.
I will keep quiet and not tell anyone I actually have the money. I have told folks about the investment, but all have laughed.
2. Contact my lawyer & accountant immediately to weigh legal options regarding keeping bank accounts and dividing the windfall. Above all else, I plan to tithe first.
3. I have not decided on the bank but with a small bank, I plan to go straight to the VP or upper management. Larger, national banks, have their Private Banking or equivalent division for customers with great wealth. They may have more options when it comes to banking, and have a better grasp of the disclosure and security procedures within their bank.
4. I plan to plan to send some to get it out of my system and then invest.
5. Any recipients of my gifts will sign confidentiality agreements regarding the disclosure of the gift for at least five years.
6. I plan to diversify my portfolio, with no risky investments. I will add to my retirement plan and set up trust for my sons available for them at age 30.
7. I may form a Blind Trust with my attorneys help to put the money in the name of the trust so that I will maintain anonymity.
8. I plan to be a smart shopper. I may have enough money to buy a little town, but still will have to manage that town. I'm thinking there additional expenses involved in buying an acre of land, a beach house (utilities, taxes) or a armada of boats at the dock. (taxes, tariffs, maintenance). I will consider the purchase, sleep on it, pray.
Here is the thing: I really did not earn this money, I got it at an improbable investment. I won't be an idiot about getting rich. This is just like anything else in life my life I will spend a little time planning, get some help when needed, and use moderation.
