  1. The comments here about family tree are much more entertaining than the rumor! What a stitch!!!
  2. January 17th, 2011 08:01 am · Posted in NEWS Opinion of Iraqi List member: Appointing security ministers may require more time; Possibly after Arab Summit Posted: January 17, 2011 by CURRENCY NEWSHOUND – Just Hopin in Iraqi Dinar/Politics Appointing ministers security after the Arab summit Posted 17/01/2011 06:30 AM BAGHDAD (Agencies): MP for the Iraqi List, Ahmed Orabi, the process of resolving the security ministries will take more time up to more than two months, expecting that the process of selecting the ministers of defense, interior and national security will be resolved after the Arab summit to be held in Baghdad next March. And denied a member of the National Alliance MP a coalition of state law, Kamal-Saadi said the recent visit of Vice-President of the United States to interfere in the framework of resolving the Ministries of Defense and the Interior This is an internal matter and the United States files related to the withdrawal of its troops from Iraq by end of 2011, as well as the implementation of the security agreement and the Arab Summit Conference to be held in Baghdad early next spring. For his part, MP for the coalition forces Kurdistan Bakr flesh Friend leaders of political blocs responsibility for the delay in agreement on the names of their candidates for the ministries of security, stressing that resolving the file bags, security needs to be agreement of the political blocs and yet stand in the way of resolving this file indicated in the beginning it had been agreed the selection of independent personalities of the ministries of security, but change it later. For his part, MP from the coalition, the Iraqi Yassin al-Obeidi was no problem in delaying the choice of ministers of security for the precision and the public interest. In turn, confirmed the mass of the Liberal MP representing the Sadrist movement in the House of Representatives rejected Uploader Jabbar mass of candidates for the Ministry of Interior are the National Alliance and Adnan al-Asadi, Aqeel Turaihi and any person having the relationship with the rule of law. In addition, said a member of the National Alliance MP for a coalition of law Abbas al-Bayati, it was too early to resolve the selection of candidates for the ministries of security in a time perspective, because al-Maliki needs more time to Iqrralakttiar appropriate ministries. And demanded a parliamentary circles of the need to complete the cabinet reshuffle, the new government firmly in the selection of candidates for bags, security and vacant ministries such as planning, trade and electricity. http://bit.ly/i2QAEO
  3. Perhaps one of the mods could contact this guy and get some type of explanation for this apparent stunt; not so much because he is a pain in the butt on DV, (which he is) but because of the inconvenience to the bank or credit union that is trying to conduct a legitimate day of business. This does not speak well for DV or it's members who fly off and go make calls based on someone's statement.
  4. Just remove this and spare the folks in Cheyenne any more calls!!!
  5. The info that Adam's CBI contact had a year ago was incorrect (at least it never panned out); and just so you know, there has been LITTLE to no info passed on to this site since that time from any CBI contact! I was here then and well before that and remember all the hoopla over the CBI contact info. Not being ugly, just saying. Someone correct me if I am mistaken on this.
  6. Here is a novel idea ... why don't we forget making any rules and assumptions about someone's intent or where they got their "intel", and just have people take their own responsibility for what THEY read and what THEY do with the information they get? I don't need someone to manage for ME what is posted on these forums!
  7. Thank you ... this was from Neno, right? Read his posts and you know English is not a first language. But that said, the grammar and spelling on here are atrocious much of the time!!! I mean, I seen it with my own eyes!!! LOL
  8. Wish we would train our own people in border control!
  9. Oh come on ... don't you know if we all just believe and stay positive this will happen very soon???
  10. From what I understand, these "bank rates" would not be showing up as a public rate yet, but only somewhere in their system if this is indeed true!
  11. There is a bank story rumor on another site indicating that 2 high ranking military officers have converted IQD to USD at $5 ... apparently then wired the money home!
  12. I cannot bring myself to comment beyond what you see here!!!
  13. Yeah ... was more fun to follow the Nolies this year, eh? If the large notes become worthless, no doubt there will be a press release, and we will get wind of it rather quickly. We just won't be able to do anything about it regarless of when it occurs. My guess is that if you had a couple mil in the large notes, Ali would be hard pressed to exchange them for 50's, even if you wanted them and were willing to pay what most likely woiuld be a healthy sum. Anyone out there know about that or has tried it?
  14. So, brother, why would you assume from what I have written here that I am living in fear and going through life with nothing to believe in? These are very legitimate questions in the midst of a great deal of hype, none of which has panned out yet in our favor. I have not lost a minute of sleep over this thing and do not plan to start doing so now.
  15. The armored car theory would be fine if you were talking about a loooong haul. Supposedly Iraq's are miffed about the large number of small denoms they are having to carry, but this will be short-lived. My thinking is the large notes will soon be called in with a time limit, while the IQD value staysat 1170. AFTER the deadline, which we can do nothing about unless you are invested in an Iraqi bank, the RV will occur and the Iraqi's will then see why they had a bit of inconvenience with the small bills!!!
  16. Give me some feedback here ... and not a lot of raggin' for bringing this up! 1. We were told some time ago that the small denoms and the large ones would exist side by side as the RV was implemented 2. Several rumors and chats are now saying this is happening, and we should be very happy, right? 3. We are being told that the large 000 notes are becoming scarce 4. Rumors also abound that IQD is to be kept in country whether large or small denoms My questions: 1. Did we as dinar holders make a quantum leap that when small and large denoms were "side by side" that that would only occur ALONG WITH the RV (We are NOT seeing this happen) 2. We are apparently seeing large denoms removed WITHOUT an RV, and most of us do not have the option of exchanging them for lower denoms, right? 3. Did we so want this RV to happen that we did not see the POSSIBILITY that removing the 000's as Shabibi has discussed would be for Iraqi's for the most part, and that the 000's might then no longer be legal tender? I know, I know, you will say what about govt's??? Although governments may have the actual dinar in vaults, they will be able to use them electronically in a way that may not be afforded folks like you and me IF indeed the large denoms are no longer consider official currency. Govt's supposedly were never going to the bank to cash in. 4. The advantage to Iraqi's in an RV will be greater buying power, not to become wealthy by exchanging dinar for dinar, so it does not matter whether they have a large bill or small bills ... they could easily use large bills for big ticket items and small ones for groceries and clothes, etc. ... which leads me to at least CONSIDER that seeing large and small denoms used side by side, removing the 000's from circulation and NO RV means they plan on retiring the large notes altogether and forever and THEN doing the RV. 5. The Iraqi's would have their increased buying power, the IQD would have international status with a respectable rate, and what we hold in our grubby little fingers would cost Iraq NOTHING, because all those large bills that BoA now displays in their currency book would have stamped across them in bold print ... DO NOT EXCHANGE!!! I have seen that on other currencies in their little book! What think ye?
  17. Oh, geeesh .... Adam would tell you himself he is not the last word!!! I had this same thought earlier this morning after I read a rumor that soldiers were turning in their large bills for smaller ones ... and those large bills then being shredded!!!! Now you want THAT to be a rumor with no truth to it, because if THAT is true, then we BE HAD BAD!!!
  18. A lot of folks have had erroneous info, not just Okie ... and while I can't speak to intent for all the gurus, I do NOT believe that most are trying to stir things up, that they are playing games. Their info has come from govt people, financial folks of all stripes, from various ME countries as well as the USA. Some info has been opinion based on articles (and we all know many of the articles were intended to mislead), so how accurate can a synopsis of those articles be? Ever notice how often "IMO" appears in much of the "intel"? It is OPINION! Many people read and have a lot of trust in DD, and he stated a few days ago that at one point he was told by a former VP of the USA that it was happening ... it didn't happen as thought. There is just a LOT we do not know, which means opinion and speculation is about the best we are going to get! Stay low, be cool, watch and wait!
  19. Ancient Mesopatamia, where Iraq emerged from, has the oldest civilization on the planet. They had the first written language, the first to use upper level mathmatics, the first government, and the most educated race of people the world has ever known. Iraq and Turkey have the oldest libraries on earth. They are far from being barbaric. These are the cultures that are studied in advance university classes. I know they seem old fashioned to us, but do not be fooled, these people know exactly what they are doing. Don't be fooled by their descent from the oldest civilization. They are barbarians, pure and simple, culturally, relationally and spiritually. I don't give a rat's arse about their written language, and puleeze don't insult us all by saying they are the most educated race of people in the world. And finally I am really unimpressed that "advanced" university classes hold their culture up as any standard to be studdied, much less emulated. When you lop off someone's head as a matted of common legal practice you are a BARBARIAN!!! Don't make excuses for them.Read more: http://dinarvets.com/forums/index.php?app=forums&module=post&section=post&do=reply_post&f=5&t=48369&qpid=327307#ixzz19zjkeCEx
  20. And we think we can negotiate with and befriend these people ... you know, bring them into civil democracies!!! Little has changed with these people in a 1000 years ... their dress, their customs, their camels and goats, their multiple wives, their barbaric laws ... nothing
  21. Med's chat is out ... the one he promised yesterday ... on another site!
  22. There can be quite a difference between the buy and sell with currency. I found that to be true trying to exchange some CAD here in Florida. That was cash though. But I suspect if this RV ever occurs this will not be the case due to competition and the dollar amounts that hopefully will result. The buy and sell on the Forex is not generally distant from one another, right?
  23. This cannot be current ... or else it is a re-run of sotts, because Utah has put this out before that the dinar is a scam. sorts, sorry ... LOL
