  1. 4,474 US Dead, 32,227 American wounded, in Iraq since Mar 2003. Weapons of mass destruction used on folks in Kurdistan, to the tune of over 5000 killed. Women unable to hold any elected offices, vote, have rights, or be treated as a human being. Said Nassif, the person making statements in this article is a woman. In all the countries surrounding Iraq that have islamic style government, can a woman hold elected office? There is no welfare mentality here. It would be welfare if we DID NOTHING and wanted everything from them. What part of gratitude constitutes welfare. I am all for pulling troops out of Iraq and Afghanistan; their politicians are ungrateful, corrupt, and do not care about human life in any way. THEY are the welfare recipients, to the tune of $788,220,151,793, that is our taxpayer dollars. How much is the freedom of speech worth? In Iraq, the 8800 Iraqi's that have died since 2005 fighting for their country in the ISF are not the politicians making the statements. They work with us, and most I have met enjoy us there helping them. The ISF troops understand what is at risk. They have bled right next to our troops in some instances for their country. Your idea on Kuwait is crazy. How many homeowners come into their own house and rape, pillage, and sneak off with their relatives and bury a couple thousand of them in the desert. What do you think Iraq's Chapter 7 is about, it aint just borders my friend. No matter who runs things, no human being deserves an ending like that. So no it is not a "you owe me" anything mentality I am displaying. It is a "hey alot of folks died so you can say what you are saying, how about a thanks and let things run their course" mentality I am displaying. This MP clearly does not know what she is talking about. When we leave those corrupt politicians in Iraq to run things, "who will guard the guards" Kevin. I can guarantee you the Iranians want to. Our country was founded by a minority of folks who stood up and fought for their rights, not by a bunch of hand wringers who would not refresh the tree of liberty because they might destroy something. And definitely not by a bunch of corrupt, greedy, ingratiating, self righteous, pompous bureacrats who dont know the meaning of sacrifice, which as of late seems to describe politicians world wide.
  2. After we "destroyed" that country and removed the family who brought shame to it, who threw folks off of three stories buildings in front of men, women and children, who killed innocent people because they did not agree with his ideas, whos sons would rape random women because they could, who took everything form the people while those same people were only allowed their third grade education and dirt farming existence, who pillaged another country, condoned the raping and pillaging of Kuwait, murdered untold thousands and left them in a desert somewhere in a hole. You know you are right, we had bad intel. We should have never allowed this kind of injustice to people in the first place. So for those who forget in Iraq's current government how many American Sons and Daughters paid to remove that brutal dictator, I agree they are ungrateful. We could have tore it up real bad, left it in ruins, and let Al Qaeda between the Rivers fill in. They were fighting for it for a while, and they were murdering the iraqis too, leaving them on the side roads bound, beaten, and full of bullet holes, missing their heads, having their jaw tore out while they were conscious, you name it. These same MP would never of had the guts, or the chance, to demand that Al Qaeda leave, or any of the other one-hundred or so groups that rose up out of the ashes of that dictator that we stayed behind to fight. Unless you know what you are talking about, not some tabloid press or some mysterious nobody popping up saying there were no weapons, don't say it. Things go on in this world that you or I have no idea about. When it suits the current politics, the story folks want you to believe to sway your "slave" mentality is what wins the day. Keep up the stellar research, definitely paying dividends for you.
  3. Someone brought up a point yesterday about the Turkish lira and how it was redenominated and revalued simultaneously in, I believe, 2005. After doing some reading on it and compared to some stuff I found in 2 IMF reports I read and posted on the 28th of June, the Turkish Lira model does seem very plausible. I want an RV bad, got my eye on a farm, but the more reading I do on this, I feel I am gonna have to get that farm through hard work and continuing my education now .
  4. Sorry Solarcloud, wasn't trying to discourage you at all. I don't think any of this is discouraging though. They are moving forward in a good way (at least the CBI is) and they are trying to bring sound monetary principals with it. Couple this with the fact that they are working toward accession into the WTO sometime in 2011 and it wont be to long and they will have a valuable currency.
  5. Well, LoL give me some feedback, what do you all think of this. I know it is three months since 2 of these reports have been issued, and in light of what is out recently in the news what do you think?
  6. This is from the third report. This report is from June 2011. There continues to be a feeling that progress on Iraq/Kuwait issues, including borders and compensation as well as missing persons, is key in order to lift remaining Chapter VII measures and allow Iraq to fully regain its international standing. Most Council members appear keen to continue monitoring progress on these issues throughout the year. From Page 14 of Second Report, 24. Staff supports the CBI’s policy of managing the exchange rate of the Iraqi dinar to keep inflation low. A stable exchange rate continues to provide a solid anchor for the public’s expectations in an otherwise highly uncertain environment. Over time, rising oil revenues could put upward pressure on the real exchange rate, which would warrant allowing greater exchange rate flexibility. Staff also welcomes the authorities’ continued commitment to safeguard the independence of the CBI, which is critical for maintaining confidence in the Iraqi dinar.
  7. If these have been posted, I apologize now. I searched for the web sites on here and did not find them, so I thought they would be thought provoking. GOI request for successor to DFI http://www.imf.org/e...2011/cr1175.pdf Iraq: Second Review Under the Stand-By Arrangement, Requestsfor Waiver of Applicability, Extension of the Arrangement, and Rephasingof Access—Staff Report; Press Release on the Executive Board Discussion; andStatement by the Executive Director for Iraq. http://www.imf.org/e...2011/cr1175.pdf For all that are looking to dig through info, I thought I would put this out as I am still reading it myself. Again if already posted I am sorry. Meant to throw this in there too.... http://www.securitycouncilreport.org/site/pp.aspx?c=glKWLeMTIsG&b=7497365&printmode=1 This is from the second report dated in Mar 2011 pg 10 #15 15. The CBI will continue to aim at keeping inflation low, predominantly by maintaining a stable exchange rate. The low level and the relative stability of inflation do not suggest any significant over- or undervaluation of the Iraqi dinar. Also, a stable exchange rate continues to provide a solid anchor for the public’s expectations in an otherwise highly uncertain environment and in an economy with a very low level of financial intermediation. I hope they have had a huge change of heart.
  8. I do believe that this will closely follow the standard set by the Germans after WW2 with the policies and revaluation they used to bring value to the mark and get their economy rolling. If you get a chance, look at the history for that specific currency. I think it closely resembles what is happening here with the dinar and would be a good way to gauge how progress is being made.
  9. WaycoolJr, I appreciate your effort to help. I think this will be a different situation though. I think this is different than what happened with Russia, Venezuela, and Iran. For one, we never invaded these countries and installed new governments in them. This definitely has not been a get rich quick scheme for me as I bought mine from some Iraqis on Qwest when they first flew the darn things into Iraq. But I have been looking at this from the perspective of what happened with W. Germany after WW2. We rebuilt them, helped them transition to a democracy, and why, to counteract what happened in the neighbor, E. Germany. We were in a cold war with Communism. If you look at all the underpinnings with Iraq, we are much in the same situation here, a cold war, except it is with a different ideology mixed with communist influences. So on the one hand, no I don't think we will be rich quick. Kuwait was quick. They got help from the world, but we pretty much left their govt. intact. Not to mention the place is so small that recovering infrastructure, housing, and other things did not take long. I mean they have a pop. of 2,595, 656 according to the CIA World Factbook. So no this probably wont be like Kuwait, but the people in the MOF in the Iraqi Govt are looking to raise the value of their currency. It will happen, no matter what folks think. It may happen tomorrow, or twenty years from now. Besides, "rich folks" who haven't wasted money on this paper should be doing other things than coming here. I do appreciate all the views though. I usually don't comment, but I do watch all the time. Have a great day.
  10. I am beginning to believe this whole "removal" of three zeroes piece is just a translation problem for them and us. If you ever worked with interpreters in Iraq, you would know that the majority of them tried their best to translate, but sometimes their phrases and ours did not match, so they would display the same difficulty explaining the idea behind their phrasing. Also, I read somewhere that he appeared to be under great duress while speaking at this engagement. The only duress he displays is one of an educated man who speaks Arabic all day trying to phrase his words in English right and carefully, because as he explained, the press are tearing up everything he says about their currency policy. I think we are still good for a revaluation, can't wait for that day to happen.
  11. You know, to put it plainly, your post is ridiculous. Stop with the racist thing, really. I see no place in the post where the man posted anything about race. This country has been what it is because of people that were willing to help others. I agree we are in a mess right now, but we collectively as a nation have got to get past the racism thing when discussing politics. For generations folks genuinely have not liked what other folks were doing politically, and it usually had nothing to do with ones race. Just because one is white, and speaks out about what is going on, does not mean they have a sheet in their closet. Helping out in this country has never meant working to pay for someone else's way, I believe that started in the 50's. What we really need is for all the folks in politics to go home, and I mean all of them, any connected in any way with what is currently going on, and for normal folks like you Trerumph, common human beings, people from the streets, hiways and biways to go be the senators, president and congress of this country. That is the only way this thing will get fixed, I promise you that. Politics as usual has got to go. You either get one or the other version of the same poison with what we currently have.
  12. One thing I do find encouraging though is more and more we are finding these glitches with the IQD being posted on bank sites. I do think it is encouraging in the fact that these folks in the banks are spending time setting up IQD, a currency that is not internationally recognized, on their forex sites. I do believe this was a mistake, and I thought that from the outset, the banks are savvy and will not offer the same buy/ sell price even if they are trying to get a jump on the market. Look at how many folks were talking about flying to Kuwait to unload. They know there are many that are impatient for their investment to finally pay off, and I fear they are going to make a ton off people who are in need or are impatient. So when the banks finally do go live with this, I am going to hold on to this for as long as I can (or as long as it looks favorable) and ride the coaster in to the platform. One thing about roller-coasters, if you jump off to early you risk serious injury. Don't be the first to trade your currency, you may regret it in the long run, your investment of dollars, years and emotions may suffer injury, too. It will RV, we just have to remain patient, have temperance, and be steadfast. For once, and I mean once, it would be nice to see the banks lose a little. And by the way, none of this is really happening to benefit the Iraqi people. It would be like saying Chase is giving out free credit cards to people with 0% interest here in America, for our benefit because they are benevolent. This is all happening to benefit investors, stockholders in countries if you will, and that does not include us either. So hold it as long as you can, for a favorable rate. Ok I am done, getting off my stump.
  13. MissyFaye8, definitely when. Will take some time, but it will happen. Relax, come on in to the site, and meet some of the folks here. Participate in some chat and read some of the posts from folks here, you will start to see who to listen to and who not to.
  14. I wanted to pull this up once more for the new folks here. This is a list of sights I have compiled through my own research, as well as the research of Scooter and Who_dat_gurl while trolling in the forums. It really helped me understand the RV, and all the items at play. If ya need more info, post here and I will start lookin for it, but not rate/ date stuff, no one will know that til it has happened.
  15. Ok if i run across more info, I will start a new post for us newbies . Note verbale dated 28 October 2010 from the Permanent Mission of Iraq to the United Nations addressed to the President of the Security Council http://www.iamb.info...of_Iraq_to_UNSC Third report of the Secretary-General pursuant to paragraph 3 of resolution 1905 (2009) http://www.iamb.info...of_UNSG_to_UNSC
  16. One more for the road, info is on pg 471 to 478. http://www.state.gov...tion/137937.pdf Copy and paste link in browser, Iraq is on pg 471 to 478, but pay particular attention to pg 477.
  17. I totally agree as well as want to say thanks for the info back in Oct, I just sighted it as part of what I would recommend for new folks, cause it has helped me understand we are waiting for the turtle to cross the finish line
  18. Also meant to say this post was for the new folks trying to catch up to speed with the rest of the old timers on here. A majority of the stuff here I believe has been brought forth by other folks, so if it has again I apologize. Ok no more posting to my own post
  19. Here were the grandaddy's of all my diggin'. They kind of anchor stuff together. I could not find where i saved on Comp during first post, so here ya go, these are Iraq's Letters of intent to the IMF. http://www.imf.org/external/np/loi/2004/irq/01/ http://www.imf.org/external/np/loi/2007/irq/022307.pdf http://www.imf.org/external/np/loi/2007/irq/071707.pdf http://www.imf.org/external/np/loi/2010/irq/020810.pdf http://www.imf.org/external/np/loi/2010/irq/091810.pdf
  20. Hey all, this is stuff I looked at and studied to better understand the RV. It is easy to believe a lot of the stuff coming out right now, because we all deep down want an RV. Sit down and put the facts together. Don't follow blindly after someone cause they throw out who they know or what they do. And definitely don't get discouraged because you believe in a LOP, it ain't happening! And definitely definitely dont listen to pumpers or the stinkin' moles and shrews that have popped in the last few days here. Each one of us is capable of finding this info out. Lets get better informed from the sources and not from the other sites. I am in no way bashing anyone, 'cause frankly I really do enjoy some of the giggin' and prodding that goes on from time to time. And heck, where would this investment be without some of these characters? When all is said and done, many of us are gonna look back and laugh at a lot of the things said and done on here. Just be sure to never be ashamed of what you say on here. Once it is out there, ya never get it back. BTW, the RV will happen, be patient. I know a lot have probably looked at this stuff before, but i thought i would compile a list of sites for folks that i have looked at to understand all that is happening. Have fun and sorry this is so long. Here it is: IRAQ INFO OFINTEREST TO ME http://www.army.mil/...rrency-economy/ Soldiers not getting US dollars from finance offices when getting their advance pays to BUY STUFF IN IRAQ for local economy in Iraq to be stimulated. 21. Found this on Yahoo. First post so sorry if it is up already. Iraq entices investors to bid for power profits Iraq says it will help investors make a profit with power plants to meet electricity demands <br style="line-height: 1.22em; "> Email Print Topics: International On Saturday December 18, 2010, 12:45 pm ESTBAGHDAD (AP) -- Iraq is asking local and international investors to compete to build and own four power plants to meet the nation's growing electricity demands. Acting Electricity Minister Hussain al-Shahristani promised Saturday to help the winner make a profit from the deal by removing potential governmental or legal obstacles. At issue are plans for Iraq to give investors 22 gas fired turbines in exchange for building, maintaining and operating power plants. The electricity would then be sold to the Iraqi government to distribute across the country. Al-Shahristani made his appeal to 30 local and foreign investment companies who gathered in Baghdad. Electricity shortages across Iraq spurred deadly riots last summer. http://finance.yahoo.com/news/Iraq-entices-investors-to-bid-apf-2360920036.html?x=0
  22. What is amazing to me in all this is how the Bible is quite literally coming true before our eyes. It was always easy to say we shouldn't take it so literally, but ten years ago no one would have thought all this would be taking place either. One thing I would say though is this, the times we live in have woke many to the perilous situation our country is in. Do not go back to sleep my friends and compatriots when this thing RV's. Stay active and vigilant in all processes in this country. I think a lot of folks are counting on us to go away with our new found wealth when this is over. Don't let it be so for our future generation sake. I pray that this is the beginning of a new American renaissance, not the ending of a problem for the powers that be. God Bless and see ya after RV!
  23. The only thing I could add to this post would be this, Please for your son or daughter or family members sake remember NOT to share info on the deployment they are going on. Our quest for info into this subject is great, but please don't share whether they are or aren't going on deployment for RV or border security. There are many things I would love to get to the bottom of, but one never knows the folks that are trolling these sites and what little jewels of troop movements and deployment info they are trying to pull from you. Let it be. Please. For the sake of the 20000 family members on their way to risk life and limb for your investment, please don't share the info if ya have it about the troop deployment. It could cost you and your family a member, and no RV anywhere could replace that. I have been holding my dinar since I bought them in Iraq in 2004, and I can hold on to them and never know about why 20000 of my fellow countrymen are going over there. It will not change an RV date and it will not change the rate I can cash them in at. I don't say this to bash anyone, I try not to post unless I have something to contribute, and if this is all I do contribute so be it. You all have a good day and say a prayer for those there and the ones headed there if ya get a chance to. The risk is still very real for them.
