  2. Sorry needed more coffee. I understand the correlation now, but yes they did change and the $ got stronger yesterday and is continuing to do so today.
  3. Nope it didn't. That box shows the rate, not the change. otherwise all those numbers would be listed as .0005's and such, instead of the current exchange rate. Now back to the USD/GBP I am not sure how you were correlating that to the GBP/IQD but the value did change yesterday on the USD/GBP.

  8. * Honeypaws Rumor 8/30/10 August 30, 2010 · Posted in RUMORS -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 9:44 PM [Honeypaws] Hey All! Just heard from my source who has been out of touch most of the day. From 67 different contacts, sources all over the world, some on the ground and some in high security positions, all are saying the same thing – tomorrow/Tuesday. This will be a declaration of Iraq’s new beginnings. Announcement of the new government which is believed to be in place, announcement of the Prime Minister (every reason to believe it is still Allawi), lifting of Chapter 7, and declaration of the revalue of their currency. 9:45 PM [Honeypaws] All sources honestly expected the RV would show on the screens for business early this morning. However, this apparently is going to coincide more closely with the end of the month as a lead-in to the first of September – their independence day. They are now a sovereign nation with freedom to make choices – Isn’t that one reason why we went there? We have suffered the birth pangs with Iraq; now the baby is born. 9:45 PM
  9. don't promote other sites: Critical Information We Know… August 30, 2010 · Posted in BALANCE, CHATS / POSTS, TIDBIT All, Here are a few things for you to be aware of that would lead you to believe we’re on the verge of something special: - Troops OFFICIALLY leave Iraq (SOFA deadline) August 31, 2010. - Obama speech moved from the 29th to the 31st, and being delivered tomorrow. - Obama (on the 29th) referred to Iraq as a “sovereign” nation. - Biden has flown to Iraq (yesterday) “unannounced”. - Geitner & al-Shabibbi in Jackson Hole, WY this past weekend in closed-door meetings. - Grand Ayatolla al-Sistani (Iraqi’s view him as a living deity) assassination attempt. - Misinformation IN THE NEWS abounds! All of the above that is VERIFIABLE AND IN THE NEWS WITH LINKS just leads you to know things are definitely changing…
  10. Ok , I have been reading the verbiage on the UN site I will paste below, There won't be an individual email notice attaching the new spreadsheet for scheduled changes. All users should check and download the file posted in this website. While there could be no changes for the mid-month, there might be ad-hoc changes during the month unexpectedly. Please check this site daily for possible changes. 2010 Operational Rates of Exchange Last updated 29 July 2010 for the effective date of 01 August 2010 and thereafter until further notice. At the end the "thereafter until further notice" sounds like standard verbiage to me just saying that this is the official rate until it is not ,and that 's all. not anything about them not updating the site anymore. Once again my opinion Shawn
  11. I am not Scooter but..... I went Through the spreadsheet looking for clues to your Question of why no update for the middle of August. It looks like the 1st of the month is the main update time with the 15th being a fill in, becuase they only make column headings labeled with January 1st, February 1st, and so on. then down in that column if there is a mid month update, it is noted in that Column like"14 May 550.00" Instead of just "550" if it was done on the First. Ok looking through the spreadsheet you will see that there are several months that have Zero mid month updates, like Feb, Mar, June, and July. So My opinion is that the 1st of the month is Always published and the mid month is only published as needed. As Far as the until further notice thing goes I am not sure. Shawn
  12. I agree but the thing to think about is IF you do somehting like this again after an RV you won't need to be hanging on to every post on every website to see if your life will be changed dramtically, because that will have already happened. This for me would become like any other investment that you check on occassionaly, and let it run its course. WAAAAAAYYY different IMHO. Shawn
  13. Currency traders trade on Digital platforms through Brokers to make thier trades. They only buy and sell Internationally recognized Currency. Since Iraq is not recognized internationally it cannot be traded currently. At least not how they do it. That is why it will be such a big deal when it does go international. The other thing that Forex traders use is very high leverage, some up to 400:1 so if the Dinar were actively being traded now you could buy 400x the amount you are currently holding for the same price you paid for it. That is the danger I see in coming out extremely low, is just that the rest of the investment world will jump on this and it will do nothing but bad in the long run. I have seen the central banks in several countries have to go and intervene in thier currency to try and keep it under control when things get out of hand, and even just in doing that you create issues, because if people don't beleive they can place a "fair trade" on your currency because the central bank will intervene whenever they want to, you will discourage investors, so once again, better to come out at the rate you think your currency is worth and let it take its natural course. I know everybody says that they Iraq is out to get the investors and why would they want to pay us so much.... It has so very little to do with us. We are less than 10% of the Currency in circulation. I honestly believe they have probably not hardly even spoken about that aspect of this, as there are SO MANY things that are sooooo much more important with this. Shawn
  14. Wow...So this is saying that nearly half of China's Oil contracts are with Iraq, Talk about Eggs in one BIG BASKET. Basically if you look at it like Investments, if you had one million dollars to invest, you split it up between various investments, based on security and rate of return. China has basically said that Iraq will be the main part of their portfolio and HAVE to believe that their investment is secure. 47% is not your risk percentage, that is the percentage of investment you put in the most secure place, while you take chances with smaller percentages. Anyways, WOW great post Scooter Shawn

  16. Thanks Scooter, I like the 13th of Sept personally Shawn
  17. They announced today it will be on the 31st. It was posted in the news section. Shawn
  18. That is where I am leaning. Around the middle of Sept seems most likely to me. I think starting next week we will start seeing peices ACTUALLY fall into place. Starting with the Obama Speech on the 31st. There is alot of things pointing towards Sept 1st, but I think that will be the start of the downhill ride and finish up just after Ramadan. With all the rumors flying around from so amny different sources, something is brewing but I think there are still things to be worked out behind the scenes before realeasing all of the info, so we should have anouther week of ......HUH?
  19. Scooter will have to correct me if I am wrong, but what I got from his post and the chat was that Iraq has been using the Bahrain Dinar as a currency to base its budget off of. Obviously it could not be based off the current value of the iraqi dinar(if it is infact to be RV'd) and this is a much wiser move than picking a number out of thin air, as basing it off of a similar currency that is fluctuating with the world economy gives you a real time view of how your country could perform if that is the value of your currency. I don't think he was suggesting that it needs to be invested in or anything like that, but more that this is what Iraq believes their currency is similar to. Now looking at the two countries Bahrain has 125 Mil gallons in known oil reserves ,and Iraq has 112 Bil. Now there is a HUGE difference there, but obvioulsy there are more factors that go in to the value of the currency, such as stable government, diversification and so on. Shawn
  20. Thanks for the post. I had wondered about history of this happening before.
  21. Here is another 2010-08-18 12:36:24 PM The world - Baghdad - Umaimah Younis A source close to negotiations to form a government on Wednesday, the Sadrist movement presented to the Iraqi List, the nomination of its leader, Muhammad Allawi to be prime minister, at the time ruled out the Congress from both sides that the dispute over the candidate to "break" like that which occurred with the leader of a coalition of law Nuri al-Maliki . After he was arrested by the National Coalition and the Iraqi List Hawwarathma with Maliki's bloc, began intensive contacts between the leader Iyad Allawi's secular bloc and all of the Supreme Council and the Sadrists, who spent several hours last night at the home of former prime minister. Warn observers warn that hit the atmosphere "optimistic" about the possibility of the emergence of understanding a coherent Iraqi national node to choose a candidate for prime minister, under what is said about the existence of "Vito chest" on each of Iyad Allawi, SCIRI candidate, Adel Abdul-Mahdi, and rejecting nominate a person whom the Sadrists for this post. But sources close to the negotiations to form a government and leaders on both sides say the dispute is "not up to rupture." An informed source on condition of anonymity that the meeting was at the home of Allawi was very important, it was a real dialogue in which he talked about a deal the Sadrists presented to the nomination of Mohammed Allawi, Iraq's senior leadership by the prime minister. During the past few weeks was trading name of Mohammed Allawi, a nephew of the Iraqi leader ordered the Islamists, between "compromise candidates" who can form an important scenario to resolve the crisis the government after 6 months of political vacuum. And whether the Sadrists able to meet Iran's willingness to grant custody of the office for the Iraqi list, the source said Sadr's movement has faced pressure Iran, which wants the survival of Maliki and outstanding options in front of him is to support the Iraqi candidate or candidate from the Supreme Council. Mohammed Allawi did not comment on the news that related to his candidacy, admitting at the same time he sees "some reservations" by the Sadrists on the nomination of Iyad Allawi. But Mohammed Allawi, said that the degree of understanding with the Sadrist movement is very high because the nature of the relationship with the Sadrists, are much closer than before in spite of some reservations, but not to the point break we faced with Maliki. Muhammad al-Allawi, in the end can not form a government without access to the compromise, but in the absence of these reservations have formed the government since the period of which is undeniable. He adds dialogues became more serious and they can gain access to solutions that may require the giving of certain powers or the designated centers. For his part, said Qusay al-Suhail, leader of the Sadrist movement, that the position of the current and clear about the issue of prime ministerial candidate, adding that Sadr was committed to the opinion of the National Coalition, which is a matter of choosing a candidate as prime minister the issue of compatibility. He said the opinion of the Sadrists would be "the opinion of four political parties in the arena (Iraq and the rule of law and the national and the Kurdistan Alliance). And whether there was a reservation by the leader of Sadr's movement towards the Iraqi List, said Suhail said Allawi expressed flexibility on this side and said more than once that he was willing to cede the nomination if touched on the issue of reservation nominated by political parties. Stresses Suhail continue with the Iraqi mass was due to the flexibility shown by other than the matter with the state law that insisted on adherence to Maliki and say that the new political parties claim to agree on each person to be with the consent of Allawi and Maliki himself. Suhail refused to comment on the reports that talk about a deal, "Mohamed Allawi," saying only that if Iraq went to put Mohammed Allawi Ksdrien we will not oppose it. Suhail said that the Sadr Movement has decided not to submit a candidate for prime minister because he "considers himself a centrist movement, of its responsibilities should not be a candidate for this position before." The leader of the Iraqi List, Iyad Allawi has said during a news conference held after a meeting with Sadr "This meeting is important and positive for us," he said, adding that "there are visions real is virtually identical between the two sides" and said the list will hold similar meetings with List of Ammar al-Hakim. And the leader of the Iraqi List, that "the next few days will witness intensive meetings between Iraq and the Sadrists to gain access to important and basic formulations for the purpose of forming the next government." On the suspension of the negotiations between the Iraqi and the rule of law, he stressed the former Prime Minister that "Iraq will not shirk from any agreement, which is apparent in its ideas and positions," pointing out that the Iraqi "do not know from where came the rule of law in this opinion," referring to the statement Mr. Maliki described the Iraqi as a "Sunni list." http://www.iraq-ina.com/showthis.php?type=&tnid=51982
