  1. Diamond...you're killing me how you seem to feel in touch with every soldier at Fort Hood. The largest populated Army post in the nation has plenty of soldiers that don't agree with you. There are also Muslim chaplains in all branches of service and have been for YEARS.
  2. No disrespect, but you need to educate yourself. The Quran, Torah & Old Testament Bible have similar parallels with Abraham as a central figure. Muslims are not the only ones guilty of not condemning extremism, we are guilty as well. Faux News takes an extremist approach every day, every hour and every minute to be extreme as they can be whether it's true or false. When you only watch one news channel and consider only one point of view...guess what? That makes you an extremist too because you're either extremely to the left or extremely to the right!
  3. Diamond...thank you for your impressive service. 20 years Army for myself...Bronze Star with "V" Device for valor. I understand your point, as an open-minded Christian I have read some the Quran and Torah as well. They are parallel with the Old Testament of the Bible and all three share Abraham as a central figure. People have to educate themselves as well, pick up a book and read...anything beyond watching t.v. and accepting an opinion as fact. As Americans, we have lost the ability to be objective and to think for ourselves...it's a shame honestly. On another note, thank you for your Vietnam service as well. My father served two tours in Vietnam and retire 32 years later.
  4. I don't need to ask any soldier about it because I am one. And what I'm telling you is that endangering my fellow comrades-in-arms just to make HIS point is not very responsible. It's always easy for those that have never been there, never will to participate in the cheerleading. No apologies needed for your rant, but we have to make strategic decisions based on more than just our emotions. I appreciate your thought, but no the President is not a muslim extremist...just a victim of GOP character assassination. Kinda like I was born in Germany as the child of an Army officer, I have a State Department birth certificate...am I German now? No. I have to disagree with your point, your argument is not sound. We are not in the middle east to protect our laws, we are in the middle east to protect our interests...big difference. How can we protect "our" laws in another country? That doesn't make sense. We shouldn't stop the burning, that pastor should stop the burning because there's a price that could be paid due to all the media interest showing it around the world. If it didn't have any of this attention, then that's on him...but it does and THAT's my issue. Those type of images are what galvanizes rouge nations against us and turns common folks into militias and Taliban sympathizers. As a military tactician, I'm saying strategically & tactically that he is doing our troops no favors whatsoever. If so much as a hair is moved out of place on a soldier's head because of this guy, it's on him and I hope his conscious can deal with it.
  5. This action will definitely stir up the hornets nest and further endanger our troops. Remember you've already got some that volunteer to die for their causes anyway. Do you not think this would further infuriate them and in their minds justify their cause? This will certainly be justification for them to further calling for jihad and will be the best recruitment tool they could ever have. Al-Jazeera will have images of this showing around the world in no time and the results will be on our evening news. And for what?! Just so some home grown religious extremist can make a point.
  6. It amazes me how we have our own extremists that seem to forget that this country belongs to everyone regardless of what side they are on. That everyone has a point of view and you can say I'm "taking my country back by any means necessary" when it belongs to everyone. Now you're got this nut in Gainesville, FL that is going to rile up the hornets nest just to make a point. What is the point of agitating of the entire muslim world burning their equivalent of the bible? It's just as insulting to them as we are infuriated about when we see our flag being burned or desecrated at home or overseas on the news. This move DEFINITELY endangers our troops in areas of combat and non-combat operations, particularly Iraq & Afghanistan. I don't understand how someone could be SO selfish as to care less about the collateral damage that comes with them making their point. If you ask me, this extremist behavior is no better or worse than the extremists that threaten our very existence as Americans both foreign & domestic. I sincerely hope that someone's son or daughter is not put in further harm's way because of this idiot!
  7. This pisses me off...bet my money on the gunman actually being a member of Iraqi forces. Wouldn't be the first time...seems the only ones we can trust are our own fellow soldiers.
  8. Personally I don't care if it's allowed or not allowed here as long as it's consistent with other things that I believe shouldn't be allowed such as POLITICS. Partisanship is huge on this site and all I'm trying to find out is good info about the investment. Just my dinar's worth...two cents would be overly generous until after the RV at this point!
  9. Ruve...I'm assuming you've been there? Because I have...and the only reason they want us there is for THEIR interests. It's not because they like us, they want to continue to pimp us and sit on their a**es and do nothing. I've seen oil literally oozing out of the ground over there, so I have no doubt they will do just fine without us when they get in gear. A lot of what I read is true regardless of the source and for others quoting Fox News...I don't know why you love a station who's second owner is no other than Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal. He has the second largest stake in News Corp and also financially backs the building of the mosque at Ground Zero. Of course you don't believe me...so look it up for yourself. I don't care if you check sources on the left wing, right wing, up wing or down wing...it's still true. Thanks to those that know how to be objective...go RV!
  10. I concur with you, the only reason I am here is to stay abreast of the investment progress. Yet more and more the site in inundated with irrelevant posts and the common response is if you don't like it don't read it. Which would be all good but you have to filter through the BS to get to the real information...I mean the site IS dinarvets...DINAR!
  11. That's funny because I jumped into my hot tub time machine and saw the same thing! LOL:rolleyes:
  12. By the way, maybe you noticed the gun trucks in my profile pic. I've been holding dinars since '04 before you could safely by them from the comfort of your lazy boy with your laptop & WiFi service. I was a gun truck company commander running supply missions in the Anbar Province while you were home chilla-axing so I have earned the right to be proud of my military service...but if you personally know more about combat than me PLEASE let me know. Otherwise stand down on a subject you have NO first hand knowledge of...if you know so much about combat you know every war is different and each experience is different. You would be exercising great wisdom not to go there...your call.
  13. Well Bulldawg...I am proud be a combat veteran because even in the Army there is a distinction between soldiers that have a combat patch and those that don't. Ask your friends whether that's true or not as well if you'd like. Secondly, I am fourth generation military and every generation was a combat veteran as well. Service members will tell you they were in combat, they likely will not get into the details with you and THAT is the difference my friend. I'd hardly call it a boast, more like it's a fact. The comment was made in correlation to the fact that I don't take anyone getting killed lightly even in jest and MAYBE that's why I didn't care for your "joke". Now do you get it? And if you don't it's cool too...we have the right to agree to disagree just as I have the right to not care for the joke. As I said, it wouldn't matter what president's name you replaced it with...I still would not care for it especially when it's about a sitting POTUS. You got what you wanted anyway, the fire was stoked so have a nice day.
  14. I am first and foremost an American, but I'm also African American. However have you ever considered that your daughter might call herself "black" because no matter how hard she might try to pass herself off as white society would constantly insist that she's not? Both in action and in words. Maybe she didn't really make that choice, maybe her life experiences both good & bad are the driving factors.
  15. Clearly you missed the part where I said a have a witty & dry sense of humor so obviously I recognized it was a joke. But everyone has the option to think a joke is funny or not to. I found it in poor taste and called you on it...so deal with it and enjoy your fire! Hopefully there's no cross at the base of that fire by the way (this is a joke too). I stand by my opinion that it was an unpatriotic gesture, no different than threatening the president using a punchline. A subliminal message trapped in the bottle known as a "joke". And for the record, I like my high horse because I earned it serving this great nation literally with my life for over 20 years. If you have done so as well, get on your high horse too and we'll ride off with differing opinions into the sunset. In the meantime, it's just an opinion so don't get your panties all twisted up in a bunch!
  16. My sources have told me that I will actually be able to see in the future a week behind where I'm currently at, but I'm not allowed to discuss it until that time actually catches up with me presently! LOL:blink:
  17. As a combat veteran who has served in recent years under presidents I liked and one I absolutely hated...I can honestly say I never wanted to see any of them DEAD even in the most heated debates. I have seen enough death in recent years fighting for our country under those Commander-In-Chiefs and personally find it alarming AND unpatriotic to make any reference to wanting a sitting or prior president to DIE! I have a witty & dry sense of humor normally, but I guess I'll just have to be the "killjoy" on this one! Fire extinguished.
  18. Thanks to everyone for the great replies! I plan to check my own sources still in theater to see if there is any intel to be gathered they might know of and post it to VIP as well.
  19. I'm a fellow dinar investor and Army officer. I don't really know what I'm doing, but I believe in my investment and hope to learn from you guys. I've been following this forum as a guest off & on and decided to join VIP today. From what I've read in the last 30 minutes, I feel encouraged and that I'm spending my $9.95 well for "intel". I risked life and limb while in Iraq to get from my base in the Anbar province to Balad via convoy to purchase dinars from a broker so I intend to ride this thing out. I was concerned about the RV and not having a "receipt" from a U.S. Treasury registered broker:rolleyes:, so I sold my dinars to a broker only to turn right around and buy them back registered & legit WITH a receipt now! I lost about $200 by doing so...but who cares given the potential return?!
