  1. The original pension was based on the old rate pre 1990 war with Kuwait. The value back then was $3.22 or $2.66 to 1 dinar. 500 dinar was worth a lot more then. After the 2003 war, the Iraq GOV never changed the amount to reflect the new value of the new currency. There must be a typo with the article. 125 dinar do not equal $100.00.
  2. Keep your eye on the ball. I do not recall Shabibi ever using the statement above. Lower denomination and higher value in the same sentence. This is the first clear statement from Shabibi that he plan to revalue the currency at the same time the new lower denomination are put into circulation. But all of this is just my take on the article.
  3. Sorry guys, there is a misprint in the article. The rate has been 19,000 to 21,000 VD = 1 USD. Check xe.com if you think I'm wrong.
  4. Who said this? CBI Governor? Thought is name was Shabibi.
  5. Where's the link to the article? Sound old. No current dates in the post. Where's the link???????
  6. Question to all? What other leaders of state have a direct hot line to the white house? UK Germany Russia And others Now the US just made that offer to Allawi via the VP. They did not make the offer to Maliki. Sounds to me like we (USA) are trying to let the world and Iraq know who we will recognize as the next PM. This may have something to do with the vote on Mar 7. The Iraqi people spoke that day, and Allawi was their man. Not Maliki. JMO
