Baghdad jail guards foil jail break attempt

BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: Guards in al-Tasfierat jail in Baghdad foiled a attempt by three prisoners to escape from the jail, a source from the Justice Ministry said on Thursday.

"Three detainees attempted to escape late Wednesday from al-Resafa jail which belongs to al-Tasfierat prison in Baghdad," the source told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.

"The guards foiled the attempt and arrested them," he added.

"They dug the prison until the fence near Mohammad al-Qassem street, but one of the guards saw them and informed the forces," he explained.
