Ransom
A while back I thought that you guys or one of you was going to go into Chase, Wells Fargo, BOA or Citibank and talk about cashing in fees and spreads. Did you guys ever do that? Or were you going to wait until the RV? What if it is a float and not a controlled float? ....Then we might not have time to negotiate for a group? Correct? Can you update us please? Thanks.

Hey Ransom - For what it is worth - I went in to a local Citibank in Southern California about a month ago or so and the bank manager / foreign currency specialist told me " No fees or spread if you deposit more than $1,000 (US value) of converted foreign currency into your Citibank account". I proceeded to ask him if it mattered which currency you exchanged, and was told that as long as it is recognized as a internationally recognized currency, it didn't matter. Now, like everyone is saying, that was before the RV and it will all change, everybody will want a slice of the pie. Hope this helps - Getrdone
Ransom
Yes thanks!. I also went into a bank yesterday where I had opened an account a month earlier. The account manager thought I was an idiot before. Yesterday he changed his attitude quite a bit. When we left my husband said,"Hmmm do you think he knows more than he is saying...I said " It sure seems like it huh." LOL we'll see i guess. Hopefully soon! I know that there have been several discussions ... maybe you are referencing another. I know that Adam won't disclose the banks ... but for me ... at $16.33/month for 3 months (or whatever package you pick) is cheap insurance against having to travel a great distance vs something in town. As your question implies ... how would we be able to benefit from a huge upswing quickly if your appointment isn't for a couple of weeks and the cash-in site is 900-1200 miles away? Regardless ... GQ2
You are gonna have a spread. What the rate comes out at & what CBI buys back at. Earlier post for banks range from 2% - 4%, Ali is going to have a lower spread, thanks to Adam.

Peace Doc31 Doc - I noticed that you were mentioning the monthly fee for the VIP - I have been considering joining as you suggest. Is there an initial fee to join, or just the monthly fee? I tried going to the link for the VIP - but i wasn't able to find the fee structure. If you could help me out here - that would be great. Thanks for all of your contributions to this site. God Bless....
