Iraq close to set on Premiership candidate llll

Iraq’s Premiership candidate will be decided upon within days, President Jalal Talabani told Al Hayat Newspaper.

Prime Minister Nuri Al Maliki is the largest party in the National Alliance and they are close to announcing their final decision, President Talabani said.

Talabani ruled out US-Iranian agreement on Iraqi issues, he noted however that each of the US and Iran favor Al Maliki separately.

Surpassing Al Maliki in this stage is difficult for many reasons, he said adding that Al Maliki’s stand towards the Kurdistani paper is acceptable.

Iraqi President reiterated that Kurds will not cede presidency.
