A statement by the ministry, seen by "Economy News", stated that "the Minister of Planning, Khaled Batal Al-Najm, chaired, today, a meeting of the Supreme Steering Committee of the Decentralization and Local Governance Support Program in Iraq, funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, with an amount of (18.5) million euros." . The statement added, "The meeting was attended by the supervisor of the supreme coordinating body between the governorates, Aqil Khazali, and representatives of the German Cooperation Agency (GIZ), in addition to the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Planning, Maher Hammad Johan, and a number of general managers in the ministry." The minister stressed, according to the statement, "the importance of this program in developing the capabilities of local governments in the governorates, and the inclusion of districts and sub-districts with small projects, to move the wheel of development in them by creating job opportunities for youth, and involving local communities in the planning and implementation process for those projects." He pointed out, "The ministry's endeavor to build a wide database on the reality of development in all governorates, and work to strengthen administrative decentralization in the process of implementing development policies that are prepared and followed up by the Ministry of Planning and the federal ministries." He stressed "the ministry's keenness and interest in developing and improving the level of cooperation with international development organizations and agencies, in a way that contributes to addressing development gaps in the districts and sub-districts." For their part, representatives of the German Agency for Development, Amer Ghraoui and Aida Atto, presented a brief paper on the implementation of small projects in the governorates during the last period. A meeting in Finance to discuss the implementation of the white paper projects Economie| 04:12 - 13/06/2021 Baghdad - Mawazine News The opinion committee in the Ministry of Finance held, on Sunday, a meeting headed by its Minister, Ali Allawi, to discuss the implementation of the white paper projects. The ministry stated in a statement that Mawazine News received a copy of it, that "the meeting discussed a number of paragraphs, foremost of which is discussing the implementation of the items of the projects that came in the financial and economic reform plan (the white paper) and following up on the extent of the commitment of the implementing agencies to the projects listed within the framework of the executive plan of the paper." . Allawi stressed, "the necessity of proceeding according to the prescribed path and within the specific timings and schedules approved by the reform paper, and the concerted efforts of the ministries along with the private sector and coordination with all parties and supporting parties to ensure the full achievement of the goals and projects." Allawi stressed finding appropriate solutions towards overcoming all difficulties that impede the implementation of plans and projects with the aim of accelerating the achievement of the goals of the White Paper aimed at correcting the national economic path and achieving sustainable and comprehensive economic development. The meeting dealt with discussing a number of issues and procedures related to the work of the ministry's departments and bodies and taking appropriate decisions in their regard.
