The Social Security Law, which was ratified last March, expands the legal coverage of social security to include all workers, and it will also expand the scope of benefits to include maternity and unemployment for the first time. The media advisor to the Minister of Labor, Kazem Al-Atwani, told Al-Sabah that the Social Security Law is the most important and will serve a wide segment of private sector workers, and it is hoped that it will be signed by the President of the Republic within the next few days.
