  1. REMEMBER, no one really knows what will happen, or when. They're simply stating their opinions based on what they perceive to be happening in Iraq... So, take everything with a grain of salt .... RON Pimpy Looks like the momentum is in favor of Iraq and this new government. All the things we've been speaking about over the last couple days seem to be happening quickly...We got a 3-year budget now in the hands of the representatives. It looks like we have an agreement between Kurdistan and the federal government of Iraq. All seems well so far in Iraq. Frank26 Article: "The Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq appoints "Al-Haimus" as his deputy" THEY'RE BRINGING IN MANY NEW DEPUTY GOVERNORS BECAUSE IT'S A NEW MONETARY REFORM PLAN. Quote: "Al-Haimus had worked as general manager of the Trade Bank of Iraq (TBI) and head of the Securities Commission." THE MONETARY REFORM IS SECURE. MarkZ We do have some news coming out of Iraq.Article: “The Central bank of Iraq is preparing a lending strategy and recommends a plan to attract deposits” Why is this important? Because you have to have a workable currency to be loaning money…right? Not a currency that is worthless. Nader From The Mid East News Article: "Fifth Baghdad International Dialogue Conference -US Ambassador...Quote: 'Iraq can reach energy self-sufficiency in 10 years. Some say in less time...approximately half of Iraq's population is under 20...they want the skills necessary to compete in an increasingly connected global economy...they want a strong economy including a vibrant private sector that produces jobs...The United States is committed to help Iraq build its economic foundation'..."
  2. REMEMBER, no one really knows what will happen, or when. They're simply stating their opinions based on what they perceive to be happening in Iraq... So, take everything with a grain of salt .... RON Clare Article: "Taif Sami announces the completion of the "2023 budget" and sends it to the Council of Ministers for a vote" Clare Article: "Adviser to the Prime Minister: Approval of the budget in a special session of the Council of Ministers tomorrow" Quote: "Adviser to the Prime Minister Diaa Al-Nasseri announced that the draft budget law for the current year 2023 will be approved in a special session of the Council of Ministers tomorrow, Monday." It did happen today..!! Nader From The Mid East Everybody's asking me if they can send money to Iraq with Apple Pay or a cash app. Tell you the truth I didn't try it and didn't try it in any country. I gotta try it to see. I never sent money with cash app to another country or Apple...We're gonna try tonight and I'll let you know...I know I can send money with Western Union. I can send money bank transfer. Yes, I can do that. Apps I've never tried so I gotta try it...Give me a couple days and I'll let you know. I know it's [dinar] international for sure. My friend told me and I saw 2 articles too. Clare Article: "The Cabinet approved the draft budget law for the years 2023, 2024 and 2025" Quote: "...in its regular session chaired by the Prime Minister, Muhammad Shia'a Al-Sudani, and refers it to the House of Representatives." Frank26 Question: "What will the REER be?" That's the Real Effective Exchange Rate of the Iraqi dinar and it's no 1300 to 1. That's ridiculous. So what is the REER? When we went there in 2003 every dinar was $3.22. Wrong Frankie Boy, check your history. $3.22 was pre-Saddam. When you add inflation factors to it 2 decades later 1 to 1 is an insult. At least catch up to the Middle East - $3.40...somewhere in that ballpark... Sandy Ingram Article: "Iraq's central FX receivers rose to $96 ben, prime minister says" We already know the Iraqi government has over 85 billion U.S. dollars in foreign currency reserves...Iraq uses the U.S. Federal Reserve as a piggy bank. MarkZ & Militia Man Militia Man: ...There is always some good news out there. One of the things that caught my eyes is a recent visit from the Ayatollah Al Sistani. He had a few words to say about the Iraqi currency. He was basically reassuring the citizens that they can now trade it and sell around the world with other currencies...I know there are people with contracts that do business with the country of Iraq and are excited. MarkZ: I have contractors over there that work building infrastructure and they are excited. Militiaman: They should be…Some of the contracts I know have a 30 day timeline and some have a 7 day timeline. I know of one with a 30 day timeline that ends about Mar 20th…a week from today. So we will see how that works. [post 1 of 3] MarkZ & Militia Man MarkZ: I have one contractor who got a partial payment on a 7 day contract. Militia Man: The one I know got a partial payout as well. With expectation of the final payment on the 20th of March. MarkZ: To me this is huge. The partial payment was NOT at the current rate of the dinar. I am confident that the numbers are changing and they know what they are. [post 2 of 3] 3-13-2023 Newshound/Intel Gurus MarkZ & Militia Man Militia Man: I believe that too …and they are de-dollarizing…and will only use the dinar. They have been talking about that for weeks...On Mar 6th they sent out messages to their citizens reminding them that their currency is going to be stronger. What they mean by “stronger” is still to be determined , and they are talking about releasing the lower notes that will mirror the denominations of other countries…and you would need a stronger dinar to warrant that. That’s a big thing. [post 3 of 3] Pimpy Nothing in this world would make me happier than to wake up tomorrow and find out that they did change the rate to $3 or whatever the hell it is that people keep saying...and me be wrong...I'd come on here...apologizing, telling everybody how wrong I was... Militia Man At this stage of the game we're in a good place... Frank26 IMO now we're down to a matter of days. It is not soon. It is not next week. I think it is this week. [for a new rate and new small category note articles] ...this is amazing what's happened with this monetary reform... Sunday Midnight - I forgot to post..! Frank26 Question: "If you were to purchase dinar would you buy the 25K note or 50K notes and what year or does it matter?" It doesn't really matter. I suppose it matters for someone that has a limited amount and they're looking for diversification. For example if you have a 50K note - you've got to exchange that 50k note but if you have two 25k notes you can exchange one and hold onto the other one. Pimpy [Reply to Nader's post from 3-11-2023 yesterday] As far as the Iraq dinar being stronger than the US dollar - not right now. But eventually they'll get there I absolutely believe that. Not right away but not too far away neither... Sandy Ingram Article: "Iraq: Government orders audit of official's funds" Iraq is considered one of the most corrupt countries in the world. It ranks 157th out of 180 nations on the Transparency International 2021 Corruption Index. The fact Iraq is now ordering the officials bank accounts to be audited is a big step towards stopping the flow of corruption and increasing the value of the currency. Frank26 Article: "Kuwaiti dinar first and US dollar tenth: the 10 most powerful currencies in the world" THEY TELL THE IRAQI CITIZENS THIS BECAUSE IT'S PART OF THE MONETARY REFORM EDUCATION & THE NATIONAL CURRENCY IS ABOUT TO BECOME POWERFUL! [NOTE: See the world's most valuable currency list in Guru Clare's post from yesterday below] Breitling Q? : Iraq, what are they looking at? ...using the yuan, the euro and other currencies. They know the US dollar supply is going to retract. So they have to add value to the currency...every one is still fighting for the US dollar. The US dollar is going to be king...this is a massive game-changer because they have to do it [Change the value of the dinar]. Pimpy Article: "Kuwait Dinar First and US dollar Tenth: The 10 Strongest Coins in the World" What I think is cool...you have the Kuwait dinar, Bahrami dinar, the Jordanian dinar - so if dinar is part of your currency name it looks pretty promising. I can already hear you guys, 'There's no reason why Iraq can't be up there!" Well there's plenty of reason why it can't be up there but if we're just being honest...there's no reason why they couldn't be up here. I'm not saying it's going to happen overnight. It's going to happen over time...in increments. But there's no reason for them not to be on this list other than the fact that they're corrupt and they can't get their crap together.
  3. Obama Pulls Rug from Iraq PM, Rushes Arms to Kurds Monday, 11 Aug 2014 @ 08:02 PM President Barack Obama on Monday pulled the plug on U.S. support for Iraq's controversial Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki as Washington rushed arms to Kurds trying to hold back rampaging extremists. Obama, who reluctantly last week launched U.S. air strikes in a country where he ended the U.S. war, voiced hope that a new prime minister would begin to ease the sectarian divisions that have fueled the crisis. Obama said that he as well as Vice President Joe Biden called prime minister-designate Haidar al-Abadi, an erstwhile ally of Maliki who was tasked by President Fuad Masum with forming a new government. Stressing his position that there is "no American military solution" to the Iraq crisis, Obama called Abadi's nomination "a promising step." "The only lasting solution is for Iraqis to come together and form an inclusive government," Obama said, after criticism that Maliki has ruled divisively to advance Iraq's Shiite majority. "This new leadership has a difficult task to regain the confidence of its citizens by governing inclusively and taking steps to demonstrate its resolve," he told the press during his vacation in Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts. Maliki has called the selection of Abadi, a member of his party and fellow Shiite, a violation of the Iraqi constitution carried out with U.S. support. U.S. officials have scarcely hidden their displeasure with Maliki, who initially enjoyed Washington's support, although the State Department said it would still treat Maliki as prime minister until a new government is formed. Obama — who did not mention Maliki by name once in his remarks — said he "pledged our support" to Abadi in his telephone call and called on the designated prime minister "to form a new cabinet as quickly as possible." "I urge all Iraqi political leaders to work peacefully through the political process in the days ahead," Obama said. Obama, who built his career on opposing the 2003 U.S. invasion of Iraq, had long resisted a larger U.S. military role even as Sunni Muslim extremists from the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) movement raced across the country from war-torn Syria. But as the guerrillas neared the Iraqi Kurdish capital of Arbil, he last week authorized the use of force to protect U.S. personnel in the once tranquil city and to save members of the Yazidi minority who, according to Obama, faced genocide as Islamic State members kill non-Sunni Muslims. Obama said that the United States has "stepped up military advice and assistance" to Iraqi and Kurdish forces. State Department spokeswoman Marie Harf said that the United States was rushing weapons to Kurdish forces, known as the peshmerga, from stockpiles. The weapons flow could further strain the self-governing Kurdish region's relationship with the central government. The United States has previously insisted on respecting Iraq's territorial integrity and routing arms through Baghdad. Harf insisted that, in the crisis, the United States was working "very closely" with both sides and that there was an "unprecedented level of cooperation" between Iraqi forces and the peshmerga. The U.S. military confirmed that it had carried out another air strike late Sunday against an Islamic State convoy it said was preparing to attack Kurdish forces protecting their capital Arbil. But Obama has ruled out sending back ground troops and has said that it is up to Iraq's government, not the United States, to defeat ISIL. Lieutenant General William Mayville, speaking to reporters at the Pentagon, said there would be no mission creep. "There are no plans to expand the current air campaign beyond the current self-defense activities," he said. http://www.newsmax.com/Headline/Iraq-unrest-politics-US/2014/08/11/id/588158/?ns_mail_uid=29920036&ns_mail_job=1581176_08122014&s=al&dkt_nbr=9kfuozgq
