Shafaq News / The Iranian Minister of Energy, Reza Ardakanian, announced, on Saturday, that it had obtained the necessary licenses to provide 125 million dollars from Iran's assets in Iraq to buy 16 million doses of an anti-Corona virus vaccine.
The ministry's website quoted Ardakanian as saying: Approval was obtained to transfer $ 125 million from Iran's funds deposited in the Iraqi Commercial Bank to a Swiss bank to purchase 16 million doses of the vaccines basket of the WHO’s Covacs program.
He noted that it is expected that the administrative procedures for this purpose will end until the end of this week and that the vaccines will reach the Iranian Ministry of Health soon.
It is noteworthy that Iran's assets deposited in Iraq constitute the majority of gas and electricity export receivables.
