Nuance Comm (NUAN) missed earnings today, stock lost 9% after hour trading at $16.26, Captl1 thinks it might be a good catch at $15.00 Companies working on potential Ebola treatments, like Tekmira Pharma (TKMR) soared as FDA allows limited use of Ebola drug since last Monday, the stock went as high as $26.05 today and settled at $23.80. Sarepta Therapeutics (SRPT) is up 7.4% today, closing at $22.66. Another one to watch is Glaxosmithkline (GSK) will soon start a clinical trial for an experimental Ebola vaccine, animal tests have been encouraging. Siga Technologies (SIGA) is a bio defense drug developer’s experimental drug, ST-383 aims to prevent Ebola virus from entering host cells, effectively ending its replication cycle. The drug is being tested on animals. SIGA gained 4.76% after trading, closing at $1.76. SIGA plunged to its 52 week low of $1.62 today after a Delaware court ruled the company must pay a lump sum in damages to PharmAthene for the value of its lost profits from SIGA’s smallpox vaccine Tecovirimat. Iraq’s PM Maliki refusing calls to resign, he is hanging on by the hair of his chiny chin chin. In fiery, surprise speech, he accuses Iraq’s new president of violating the constitution. Iraq’s new president named deputy parliament speaker Abadi to new prime minister. US says it fully supports the new Iraqi president. Wiljor watched CNN this afternoon to hear Pres. Obama’s speech at Martha Vineyard this afternoon, saying he has spoken to UK, France and other countries to help with humanitarian aid to help the stranded Yazidis out of the mountain. He added the military advances is to protect American citizens. He called and commanded Pres. Massoum, House Speaker Jabouri for the nomination of the new PM, Haider Abadi. It is important step for Iraq to form a new government that unites Iraq from different communities. He also asked them to form a new cabinet as soon as possible to include all Iraqis and for Iraqis. He further added the only lasting solution for Iraq is to form an inclusive government to represent all interest and fight against ISIS. Pres. Obama has pledged support to new Iraqi government. In his speech, he didn’t mention Maliki at all. That shows that Maliki is out J Vietnam1969 reported several airstrikes conducted by US military and Iraqi air force in the weekend which did a lot of damage in ISIL beehives and putting to sleep scores of worker bees. US and British transport airplanes delivered supplies to the Yazidis. Littlesam cries when she hears security sources said about 20,000 Yazidis have been rescued from the mountain to safer areas near the Iraqi Syrian borders. US and Iraqi sources said that all stranded people will be rescued very soon by creating a safe passage protected by Sandfly who is ready to fire Tbomb at any time. Iraqi government sent arms and ammunition to Kurdistan, the US is also expected to do the same. Iraqi President Fuad Massoum named Haider al Abadi for the position of PM. Abadi was the first deputy of the speaker of the house, the move was welcomed by the US and a sign of change in the hope of forming an inclusive government. French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius arrived to Erbil where he offered his country’s humanitarian aid to the thousands of displaced people that took refuge in Kurdistan region. He hinted French military assistance if the security council passed such a resolution. KRG said oil production has not been affected by the recent events. ISIL has killed more than 500 men, women and children which some of them were buried alive. More than 300 women were kidnapped to be sold as slaves. Both accounts were confirmed by Iraqi minister of human rights. Iraqi people are eager to see the political maneuvering among the politicians in the process of electing the Prime Minister. We only can hope and pray this is the dawning of new Iraq J The news in the weekend has been a crazy roller coaster sending all of us into the twister and turner like rubber… is he, is he not.. Abadi, Abadi not, Maliki, Maliki not. Well.. the news just settled down on Monday morning and Abadi has officially been appointed as the new Prime Minister and he has 30 days to seat his ministers. We never know what Iraq has been whipping in the kitchen…Abadi could have worked behind the closed doors, seating his ministers and now a matter of him, the magician pulling it from the hat.. we could have a fully seated government in two days and rv train comes to the station.. I am dreaming of home sweet home J From rumor land : Chattels says the new PM has 30 days to form his cabinet for approval by the Iraqi parliament with an absolute majority. Mt. Goat says PM is elected, we wait for the oath of office to be administered and the public announcement. This will be our sign that rv is just around the corner. Steve1 believes his sources telling him Maliki is history. Bluwolf says once it is evidently acknowledge through Gazette and rv is our new reality. Poppy3 says Turki will remain at least for a transition period of the new GOI. Tlar says Iraq is in compliance with IMF Article VIII which means they are going international with their currency. Millionday says Haider al Abadi is forming new government. This will move forward to be stability quickly. The UN is happy and stating that Pres. Massoum has done his job naming the PM to form the next government. Doc thinks the likelihood of a significant rv is virtually zero. ISIS artillery was used against Kurdish forces defending Erbil, near US personnel. US warplanes returned at night, conducted 2 separate air strikes against ISI target in northwest Erbil. Wiljor wonders if US airstrikes be targeting US supplied weapons in Iraq paid by our tax money? US Humvees, Mrap transportations, machine guns, artillery are in hands of ISIL as Iraqi army retreated. US saw same problem in Afghanistan with US armed mujahedeen gear. US pilots likely to avoid casualties striking from a distance against ISIL. Reinman gives thumbs up to Grand Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani, stated it is time for politicians not to cling to their posts and it will be a grave mistake if they did at this crucial time in Iraq’s history. He added leaders must choose PM that will end the security crisis. He also said ISIL targets all Iraqis including Sunnis. The only way out is a united government that represents all Iraqis and the process must start immediately. UNSC Ban Ki Moon asked international community to help by standing against ISIS and exert all efforts to cut off their financing and recruiting efforts. The Kurds need modern weaponry and supplies of ammunition which probably Americans will help. Exxon Mobil said their operations in the south is unaffected, same with Gulf Keystone Petroleum (GKP) said its operations in Kurdistan region is safe and well protected. Merchants in Baghdad area said there is ample supplies of food. Turkey’s Ministry of Energy is confident that oil flow from Kurdistan region will continue to Ceyhan port. Five tankers with capacity of 1M barrels are loaded in Ceyhan. GOI and KRG still need to resolve the issue. Iraqis have expressed their relief and hope after America provided humanitarian aid and conducted air strikes against ISIL. From rumor land : Tlar says Sunday we should see two step process. The first is declaration of the biggest bloc NA and second a nominee for PM. Depending on how it turns out, we will probably see a new government. Bear5642 says his source indicated Maliki is out. Poppy3 says they have done the best job ever of painting ISIS much worse than they are so this charade of war will be cleared up very fast.
