From Dinar Land : The long waited air campaign against ISIL headquarters in Syria finally materialized with the backing of 5 regional countries which mainly are Sunnis. Vietnam1969 said ISIL was expecting the strike but not to the extent of severity, there was still an element of surprise. Pentagon said airstrikes were precise in order to avoid civilian casualties. The airstrikes will continue but the intensity will be less as ISIL expected to use civilians as human shields and try to hide their military hardware. The strikes will have resounding impact on ISIL and their supporters. The strikes were welcome by Iraqi security forces and Kurdistan peshmerga, boosting their morale to continue to fight ISIL. US has conducted 200 airstrikes in Iraq but not defeating ISIL yet. Extrememarine59 said US airstrikes in Syria killed estimated tens and maybe hundreds of terrorists. Airstrikes were conducted on a group known as Khorasan, an al qaeda affiliate who publicly threatened to kill Americans and other Westerners. Captl1 confirmed Jordan is involved in airstrikes against ISIL in Syria. Jordan has a long border with Syria and terrorists frequently try to infiltrate into Jordanian territory. Jordan is a strong US ally in is targeted by extremists. Iraqi air forces conducted aistrikes against ISIL killing four and injuring at least ten in area 25 km southwest of Kirkuk. Anti terrorism unit bombed ISIL positions in northern Babel province killing five queen bees and injuring scores of worker bees. Men armed with automatic weapons went on a shooting spree in Eastern Baghdad, three civilians were killed in the random shooting. A car bomb exploded in eastern Baghdad killing at least two and injuring eight civilians. Intelligence source said the bomb was dignated remotely. PM Abadi as the Supreme Commander of Armed Forces ordered two generals to go on retirement as a move meant to diversify the armed forces leadership according to military analysis. “Government Reform” is a phrase being heard from the main street to government officials and representatives. Corruption is deeply engraved and bribery is a way of life in every level of society from top to bottom which are not unusual in Middle East or emerging economies but corruption carries its dangerous side effects such as awarding a project to the wrong people or companies that may hurt the development of infrastructure. In democracy when people are caught in corruption, they are brought to justice in a spectacular and transparent way. That is why it’s gaining momentum in Iraqi government. A politician who remains anonymous said it may take years to make a dent but you have to start somewhere. The building of infrastructure in Iraq is going regardless of security issue according to its five year plan for 2013-2017. Some plans will be revised in according to the situation currently in the areas. Funding is and will always be available for housing projects as it is the cornerstone of economy in the coming stages and provides employment to hundreds of thousands of Iraqis on a continuous basis. In spite of the security situation Iraq is receiving an increase inquiry of companies interested in investing in Iraq. International banks are also encouraged to establish branches in Iraq as they will attract more investors. Gymrat76541 hopes they approve 2014 budget very soon, as the acting Minister of Treasury Mohammed al-Sudani said that approving spending for the last three months of 2014 will help in preparing 2015 budget. It will also help in allocating funds for the security forces. He expects to get positive responses from the parliament. From Dinar Land : Guess words are faster than bombs as ISIL urged it’s followers to kill Americans, Frenchmen and the citizens of any country that fights them. Chess thinks ISIL spokeman Adnani is delutional as he addressed Pres. Obama by likening him to Pres. George W. Bush when US invaded Iraq. French Minister of Interior for calling for a show of force to fight ISIS barbarism. Adnani also condemns Saudi Arabia for agreeing to train free Syrian army on their territory. He also addressed the Kurds and saying ISIL does not fight Kurds, only the unbelievers among them. The statement came after ISIL overran dozens of Kurdish villages in northern Syria forcing more than 100,000 civilians to flee to Turkey. Dawa party parliament member Ali al-Badri said they are holding Commanding General of Armed Forces Haider Abadi responsible for the massacre of 300 soldiers killed by ISIS using chlorine gas. He further said Abadi didn’t move quick enough to rescue the soldiers. No one in the government confirmed ISIS used chlorine gas nor 300 soldiers were killed in the attack. Salim al-Jabouri will hold a special meeting with different independent (non government) organizations to discuss their relationship with members of parliament. This special session will be held next Monday. Nannab reported Ministry of Health conducted a successful campaign to vaccinate as many children as possible in all provinces against polio. Baghdad province said it has started preparing its 2015 projected budget. The budget is for 1.21T dinars including finishing twelve strategic projects that are expected to overlap from 2014. Tamimi said he expects the security situation becoming under control by beginning of next year. From Dinar Land : Captl1 reported France conducted its first airstrike against ISIS today. French jets destroyed an ISIS logistics depot in northeastern Iraq. France says other operations will follow in the coming days. France is the first foreign country to add military muscle to US airstrikes against ISIS. Pres. Hollande said France will participate in the fight against ISIL in Iraq but will not bomb targets in Syria where ISIL headquarter is. Observers predict that Britain will follow suit after Scotland ordeal. A-J516 heard security forces at Beiji Refinery foiled another attack by ISIL, destroying two of ISIL’s vehicles and sending 5 worker bees to their heaven. The Spokeman of the joint forces, Saad Maan said the attack killed 24 and injuring 90 civilians. Ministry of Justice warned that this attack was to free terrorists from prison and ordered increased security there as ISIL is planning to storm the prison. Religious authority warned against making the foreign military assistance a gateway for Iraqi security forces and the volunteers, joining them loose their focus on being the first and foremost combat team in fighting ISIL. Top Cleric Abdul Mahdi al-Karbalani said Iraq must remain independent, united, and focus on regaining all territories from ISIL occupation. Sunni and Shiite religious leaders urged Iraqis to remain united and put the country’s best interest before their personal agenda. ISIL terrorists have vacated many of its positions and abandoned their tanks and armored vehicles in oil rich Deir al-Zour province in anticipation of US airstrikes. The terroristsl mingle with civilians which make it difficult for airstrikes to hit target without hurting civilians, which ISIL may use as propaganda against US airstrikes as killing the muslim randomly. US Commanders said this will not deter them to bomb terrorists as gymrat76541 is the best person to conduct the airstrikes with the technology exists to pinpoint selected targets. Japan’s FM said Japan offered Iraq millions of dollars in humanitarian assistance aimed at helping displaced people. Japan’s investments in Iraq is to renovate and build the whole Iraqi shoreline at the tip of the gulf. Ministry of Public Works said they will continue to work in repairing and rebuilding the roads, bridges and overpasses in Baghdad. There is no lack of funds but security is the issue at times to prevent crews to work. PM Abadi arrived in Sulaimaniyah Province for a crucial and important meeting with former KRG president Talabani. Abadi is facing challenges to unify Iraq and please every sector and political bloc. His spokesman said Abadi will work tirelessly to bring Sunnis, Kurds, and Shiites to fight against ISIL and regain occupied areas, cities, and towns. A spokesman for PM Abadi said GOI and KRG are about to enter into the most comprehensive talks to resolve all major issues especially about the oil exportation from Kurdistan region. The goal is to keep the country united and provide the region with its financial needs. Similar talks with Sunni leaders are to follow where Sunnis will gain more decision making in their internal affairs and sharing the wealth which will weaken the ISIL grip especially in Anbar, Nineveh, and Diyala provinces. This is what the new government is planning to achieve in spite of objections of some powerful Shiite parties and blocs. From Rumor Land : Aggiedad77 says 2014 budget will reach parliament on the 10/10, but he thinks it will be sooner than later. Pepperoni on pizza says Iraq does nothing fast despite the outcries from everyone in the media to do so.
