Theyve had a week and all the time leading up to this. Its not like it is a surprise they needed to elect a president. This feels like Talibani or his wife screwing this up. Oh well so much for Wednesday Preacher Man: Good Morning, everyone! Looking for the sunshine to break through the clouds, we have some very important steps, to take, within the next few days, these steps would be easier to take, if we had, a little bit of luck on our side.I so pray we are at the end of this ride, it is time, the clock does not re-winding, It is time... Phillyman: Humbled again by our beliefs and Iraqi time tables. But, who knows? There will probably be an article in an hour stating who the president is. KJWayne: Bgad (news). A source parliamentary request for the Kurdistan Alliance, a deadline for 24 hours to resolve their candidate for the presidency. KJ Preacher Man: The head of the National Alliance, Ibrahim al-Jaafari, the presidency of the Republic of the share of the Kurdistan Alliance. Jaafari said in a press statement, seen by the Agency for News News (et) that "the Presidency of the Republic in accordance with the consensus of the blocks as the share of the Kurds resolve the Speaker of the component of the Sunni and Shiite ministers of the component. The Jubouri that "the delay was to allow for a greater chance of agreement on the Presidency of the Republic, in addition to the importance of expediting the approval of the budget for the current year, which was delayed for several months." The Council of Representatives of Iraq, on Wednesday (July 23, 2014), held its fourth voting on a candidate the post of President of the Republic, President of the Council, headed by Salim al-236 and the presence of Vice. Preaacher Man: A friend of mine ,,DBYH, posted this on PD, I thought it was a very good summation: I would think their recent coaching from the British in parliamentary procedure may be a part of these delays. the crazy little trick of over 100 candidates ... that has seemed to throw a monkey wrench in the process. Even Hakim said hey guys, you know better... Just withdraw your name now.. This is akurd position. Sol wallets were already saying there was going to be a surprise etc. better to wait a day than to have some snake in the grass nip you. Plus the day is not over. Perhaps we can work on the budget while we effort for tomorrow's vote... Luckylady: We should all be use to this by now. I will change the date on my resignation letter......again. Rissas Dad: Tlar and Revbo, riddle me this? The Jubouri that "the delay was to allow for a greater chance of agreement on the Presidency of the Republic, in addition to the importance of expediting the approval of the budget for the current year, which was delayed for several months." Why is Jabouri so driven to get the budget done that he is willing to postpone the vote on the Presidency? Hold on while I put my RV goggles on........ok. Why does it appear that he wants the POR and the budget to be done at the same time. Perhaps even voted on at the same time? Very interesting wouldnt you say? RV goggles off........well there's always thurday or next tuesday. RDiddy: Great to see they've moved on to addressing the budget while the Kurds get it together! Blue Duck: Ya ReVbo, it sure seems like Talibani's tactics and it's a small delay but as long as they get the right guy in there then it will worth it! Virtue parliamentary reveal the exclusion of a number of candidates for the presidency 23-07-2014 10:39 AM Baghdad (news) .. uncovered mass virtue representative for the Presidency of the Council of Representatives to exclude a number of candidates for the presidency, because they are non-Mistovon the legal requirements for the nomination. - said MP Jamal Muhammadawi Assistant Secretary General of the block in a statement received by the Agency (news): The 'presidency House of Representatives obliged to declare the names of candidates for the post of President of the Republic in front of the council members before the vote on them at today's meeting ', noting' it has decided to convene a meeting of leaders of political blocs to discuss the names of candidates applying for this office '. added Muhammadawi that 'a number of candidates will be excluded according to the rules and limitations law which was prepared for this purpose, including sending the names of candidates to the bodies of accountability, justice and fairness, as well as other conditions should undergo a candidate to test the eligibility to hold office. " He Muhammadawi that 'the country is passing through the phase of serious history had to speed up the consensus on the positions and form a new government based on the people experienced, efficient and highly professional qualifies them to take up their positions and their duties as required'. http://www.ikhnews.com/index.php?page=article&id=127028 Ralph: BREAKING NEWS. A special parliamentary session to elect the President of the republic held today. 23/07/2014 14:11:00 BAGHDAD / Nina /--A special session held by the House of Representatives for the election of the president of the republic with presence of 236 deputies this afternoon. It is scheduled that during this hearing the election of the president and his two deputies would take place. / End http://www.ninanews.com/english/News_Details.asp?ar95_VQ=HFJDJG Buttercup: Oh praise God. Let it be so. I am running out of Dramamine! Tlar: rissas dad, I take a stab at this one. The country is in deep do do with a non functioning government under assault from ISIS and no budget to even pay their bills. Projects are at a standstill and will remain so until they get a budget and the problems of ISIS will not even begun to be fixed until they get a functioning government everybody can stand behind and support. Jubouri is an Iraqi patriot with a sense of responsibility and he is trying his best to solve these two problems, getting a government and a budget as quickly as humanly possible. There are many insulated fat cat politicians who really don't give a XXXX about the people who are self serving and don't really care how long it takes to fix anything, sitting in parliament that he is prodding along as fast as he can. The SOL and Maliki are the primest of examples of people who are only there for self interest and would love to stall the fix as long as possible. Control to them is more important than the welfare of their country. That's why they must go. It is the same Shiite they have done for eight years. Short of shooting these kinds of people Jubouri has to follow the rules but he is expediting it as fast as possible. Revbo and countrygal (sorry Revbo for putting you in the same sentence) both made my point of why the presidency is more important and to get done now as the rallying point for the fix and what I believe will also initiate the RV along with the budget being fixed and passed. tlar Rissas Dad: Thanks Tlar and Revbo. If I were Jabouri I would mandate a few rule changes for Parliament, lets say just for the next 3 weeks as follows: -No arms or security permitted inside chambers. -Any MP not in attendance will be fined 6 months pay. -No conversing between MPs of other blocs. -All doors will be locked from the outside. Breaks will be to a set schedule and no one will be allowed to leave the premises. These doors will be locked as well. -Finally, all shoes must be removed before entering chambers. Fluffy house shoes will be provided to all MPs. -Pacifiers will be mandatory for all State of Law MPs. Mally: Yesterday I stopped and bought shaving razor blades and a frozen pizza on the way home. Went throught the self checkout lane at the grocery store. I put a 20 in the machine and couldnt figure out for the life of me why the machine wasnt giving me my change and letting me leave. After waiting and trying everything I had to go get help with a long line waiting for my machine. The lady pointed out I owed 5 more dollars. I told her no my bill is 5 dollars and I put a 20 in. I forgot the razor blades were in the bag and my bill was 25.08 not 5.08. I think this ride is killing all our brain cells. PPR: Just quit shaving until the RV. Rip Van Winkle. Before the articles being posted I have never seen movement with purpose in the parliament. Heck, even getting hourly updates from the news on parliament's schedule change seems quite unusual. Cool to see delays in hours and not weeks. BlueyesinLevis: Like sand through the hourglass..so are the days of our lives.
