  1. I bet a lot of people already go without meat one night a week. How many have had cereal for dinner? Or just a salad? Maybe an omelet? I know that I do. I am not a vegetarian, but meat does affect a lot of people the wrong way. With cholesterol, fat and digestion to name a few. I just don't see the big deal about giving it a day. How many Catholics out there still eat fish or no meat on Fridays? You don't hear of anyone criticizing that old practice. Just my :twocents:

  2. There is a lot of truth here. Think about it.

While suturing a cut on the hand of a 75 year old rancher, whose hand was caught in the squeeze gate while working cattle, the doctor struck up a conversation with the old man.

Eventually the topic got around to Obama and his role as our president.

The old rancher said, 'Well, ya know, Obama is a 'Post Turtle''.

... Not being familiar with the term, the doctor asked him, what a 'post turtle' was.

The old rancher said, 'When you're driving down a country road and you come across a fence post with a turtle balanced on top, that's a 'post turtle'.

The old rancher saw the puzzled look on the doctor's face so he continued to explain. "You know he didn't get up there by himself, he doesn't belong up there, he doesn't know what to do while he's up there, he's elevated beyond his ability to function, and you just Wonder what kind of dumb person put him up there to begin with."

    Best explanation I've heard yet.

Only in America could the rich people who pay 86% of all income taxes be accused of not paying their "fair share" by people who don't pay any income taxes at all.

  3. I totally agree. I have only been invested since early 11. I tried to get my friends and family on board, they all laughed at me. Every once in a while they ask about it. They want to know how does it feel to lose thousand sof dollars. I have to remind them that I actually hold something of value that I can resell and will lose a few hundred in fees. But that I have not thrown my money at the wind.

Mind you, these are the same people who will be the first ones with their hand out when they hear anything in the news. By the time they put their hand out I will be living incognito. Yes, I will help my family and friends, but on my terms, hand up, not handout.

So, I will sit here and lurk, laugh and cry with you all. Best wishes and Godspeed!

  4. Sammie, I agree with you regarding Chapter VII's relevance to the RV. There is none, although, the release of CVII is a milestone in Iraq's progress, movement toward stability and placement for an RV. I believe CVII is the carrot and reward to doing all the right things moving towards responsibility and democracy, and the UN, IMF, and WTO work in concert to "achieve results". As someone said a couple of days ago, why would Maliki want out of CVII when at that point they would be held responsible for loans, sued in court by countries owed, and relieved of DFI protection.

When hoping that CVII sanctions are lifted, I think that we are looking for Iraq to be in a place where they could RV. It's symbolic. A happy place. Like Disneyland.

This is exactly what I am thinking, thanks KK

  5. There are some Californians that would gladly move to AZ given the opportunity.

And no, not to change AZ but keep it the way it is or improve it.

Don't lump all of us in the same pot as those in Sacramento.

My in-laws live in Prescott Valley. They are up near N. VeiwPoint and 89a.

That is my backyard. I moved here from CT 17 years ago. Some from CA, do try to change things around here, hopefully everyone here keeps putting them in their place, LOL.

  6. Randalln, I want to believe, really I do. Now if you had said by the end of September I would be hanging on. But, the end of this month is not likely. Ramadan starts this weekend, for the past ten years that people have been watching the slowly grinding political wheels, nothing happens during Ramadan.

Just because we don't agree on date, I still agree that post RV, it is our duty to help others. You can bask on the beach as long as you know you helped your family, friends and the causes you believe in, maybe donated a few cows to some 3rd world countries :-)

  7. Chris, your reply about the vote is what some people dont understaand. They dont get that voting for a third person really does more damage than good. The party has blinders on thinking that if enough people vote on a write in they will win, WRONG, it has never happened. Nice idea, but no way. Too many people out there can only think pull Reb or pull Dem, picking up a pen doesn't compute.

I am still looking for something I can tolerate about Romney. I can't stand Obama, but that is my opinion. If I dont vote, it would be voting for Obama. So I have to vote, just pulling the tab for Reb, hardly makes sense when I have a hard time getting behind him. Romney needs to start listening to the people and tell us what we want to hear.
