  2. Right... they sold their oil and imported a vastly lower economic amount in other goods.  Keep in mind, when Iraq sells their oil, it is sold for US Dollars (since the OPEC agreement)!  I suspect that you will now form a very misguided conjecture that those 'stored' US Dollars will be used to cash out all of the investors.

I seem to be spewing too much honesty, that's all.  I don't care much for facile arguments on this forum; I care about the TRUTH.  So, you repeatedly making tangential remarks without adding any valuable insight to the discussion makes you seem like the coward.  I would respect and cherish it if you actually added at least 'something' to the argument.  At this point, you are acting like nothing more than a sideline cheerleader.  You may be much better served to continue reading rather than posting.  Remember, ad hominem attacks never make you appear intelligent.  Princess!

Again couldn't careless what you respect or cherish....your jumping in the middle of something that's been going on for years...heres an idea coward...if you don't like what I have to say...try the ignore button or just sit on your hands :banhammer:

Central Bank Governor promises bright future for Iraqis

    By Adel Kadhem

    Azzaman, July 9, 2013

Iraq’s financial capabilities are stronger than any challenges the country might be facing, said Deputy Governor of the Iraqi Central Bank Abdulbasit Turki.

“The near future will be a surprise … our potentials are greater than any challenges we are going to face,” Turki said.

Turki made the remarks during a celebration marking the 10th founding anniversary or Iraq’s Commercial Bank.

Turki took over the Central Bank’s administration almost 10 months ago, following a period in which the bank’s former leadership was alleged to have pursued policies detrimental to the country’s economy and the exchange rate of its national currency, the dinar.

Iraqi Central Bank’s coffers are reported to be brimming with hard cash with reserves estimated at more than $70 billion.

Turki said the short period in which he has been at the helm of the country’s most influential financial institution has provide him with evidence that Iraq will overcome its economic difficulties with great leaps forward in the near future.

He did not elaborate, but hinted that his bank was negotiating with international banking institutions to open branches in the country and at the same time encourage foreign investment.

“We have met delegations from some of the world’s largest banks who are willing to start operating in Iraq,” he said.

Turki said his institution wants to turn Iraq into an arena for investment, particularly by foreign firms and entrepreneurs to rebuild its infrastructure.

“Iraq is open to all investors willing to invest in it and reconstruct its institutions,” he said.

The high value of the dinar

    07/09/2013 12:00 AM

    Baghdad - Mostafa Hashemi

said economic expert d. Peace Sumaisem: that the Iraqi dinar is witnessing a remarkable increase in value, especially in recent times, and after the withdrawal of Iraq from Chapter VII. Added Sumaisem told (morning): that there are several countries want to buy the dinar because it represents the currency of financial cover strongest in the region as well to being represents one of the aspects of investment for foreign investors, noting that there are expectations of higher value of the dinar :eyebrows:

to rates close to the standard which makes it desirable in global markets. explained Sumaisem the global currency markets is going according to the principle of expectation of higher currency or decline, and on the dinar, there are projections indicate to increase the value of the dinar in the global markets, He Astdrki that the fluctuation in the exchange rate within the country significantly affect the value of the dinar abroad. It is worth mentioning that there is a website  American trading buying and selling Iraqi dinar since 2004.

After the exit of Chapter VII sanctions on Iraq, international banking organizations are looking to invest in Iraq. The Iraqi central bank has recently declared that presently Iraq possesses high volume of foreign reserves, which is around 76 billion dollars and in addition to that bank owes 30tons gold bullon.

Treasury Adviser Helal Al Ta’an, stated that this reserve will help raise the value of the Iraqi currency, compared with foreign exchange and thus contribute to the reduction of prices of goods and commodities.

The currency reserves of the Central Bank is supporting the Iraqi currency in and out of Iraq, and increased oil imports might contribute directly to increasing the reserve and give more support to the Iraqi currency.

Economist Majid Al Souri remarked, “The investment of surplus reserve is a deliberate economic policy of the country.” the parliamentary Financial Committee member Ahmed Al Masari criticized laws and banking regulations followed in Iraq, confirmed that the Parliament is determined to enact laws regulating banking in the future.

The central bank declared that earlier the foreign reserves and gold were used to be managed in global banks. But after the exit of Chapter VII, the bank got more freedom and thus liberal decisions of the bank will bring future economic successes.

  9. Research "removing zeros" or "lopping zeros" on google.......you will find your real answer. The CBI is talking about the same process as all the other countries that removed zeros. The giveaway should be when they have referenced those countries that lopped and have specifically stated a 1000 to 1 ratio for exchanging old for.new......

Regardless of what you favorite.gurus tell you, its NOT what we want.....

Lol....look at you baby boy....ALL the great news as of late....including Turki talking good stuff....and you make a beeline for the lop debate.....you are one funny dude!

    Heard you moved to Florida?

  10. This article isn't too comforting to me either. I just don't see them saying they will raise the zeros from the nominal rate, this would cause a run on the dinar. They won't announce anything about that until it is done. All these articles are politicians wanting their names in the news when something good does happen. It's all political jibber jabber.

Check out the article from the man Turki himself...

  11. Why do you think the CBI and the GOI wants to promote the IQD in investment company dealings to support dedollarization and promote the strengthening of the national currency and economy. They also said “increase its value and enhance confidence.

Because they know the value is about to be raised and the program rate removed after sanctions left them in a really bad spot for decades.....one of the biggest parts to this is to instill confidence in daily banking amongst Iraqi citizens who have never used a bank.....timo they won't hand over there dollars until the dinar has value....

Turki is telling you what we all have been waiting to here....its ok to be excited!

  12. if there is a rv, there wont be a problem of removing usd.  Ill gladly help

This is a great article.  Do you hear the sound of all that money pouring into Iraq?  Big rv, little rv, whatever......they can do something, and it sounds like its going to be soon.

You know I'm with you there....my point exactly. ..they will gladly give up the USD after the RV!

    Definitely getting interesting finally....

  13. Because right now they are dependent on the US dollar for daily purchases , they need to go back to the way it was before the wars and make the dinar strong !! Lower the demand for the US dollar in your country put more faith in your own currency !!

That's kinda far fetched imo....after the RV....they will have plenty of faith in the Dinar

In your scenario...every Iraqi would then become stinkin rich right front m the get go.....if they hold USD and the RV happens they then turn their USD into dinar.....they get their purchasing power back

All of this is pure speculation and know one knows how this will end....just try not to state your opinion as fact....there are not facts....just speculation

  14. No, no I see it. I am just saying this could happen, Just fun debate. I am here cause I think there will be a middle road where all do well - they will RV low, as Adam says, say .10 to .25 and we do well, cash in window, then when that's closed, they raise rate much higher to a dollar. This way investors are satisfied, foreign investment continues, there are no overnight millionaires and Iraq can handle that rate as a fiat currency.

    That's the picture I see.

I can definitely see it that way.....I still see it a little bigger but hey...I like to dream :)

especially when I read an article like this......

  15. think you're right

    This is a tough one.

Iraqis are being paid in dinar. Stands to reason they have thousands stashed away or used on a regular basis, along with US dollars. Soooo....even a slow rise will increase value of their stashed dinar - so they will keep them, and become become millionaires later....LOL ( I don't believe the millionaire thing)

Of course, this problem can be avoided by a cash-in window of a year, say - then they really raise the rate. So prob come out with .10 or .50 cents, make everybody cash in (including us) then raise it to a dollar.

Problem with your reasoning is this:  they CAN RD the currency and THEN raise it to $4.00 and be the most powerful currency in the ME.

    Unfortunately.

    Argue me this.

Im not arguing anything...just stating my opinion and my belief....if I thought like you I sure surely wouldnt frequent this site....

There is no doubt your scenario is a possible scenario....however I just dont see it going down like that....way to much big $$$ headed there and way to much at stake......ever really consider why there is no msm coverage?

Lot more going on than meets the eye....but hey by all means if you dont see it...knock yourself out waisting your time :banhammer:
