This is getting out of control. Fishing Charter boat captains are out of work...

    PD41

Just before the weekend, the National Park Serviceinformed charter boat captains in Florida that the Florida Bay was "closed" due to the shutdown. Until government funding is restored, the fishing boats are prohibited from taking anglers into 1,100 square-miles of open ocean. Fishing is also prohibited at Biscayne National Park during the shutdown.

The Park Service will also have rangers on duty to police the ban... of access to an ocean. The government will probably use more personnel and spend more resources to attempt to close the ocean, than it would in its normal course of business.

This is governing by temper-tantrum. It is on par with the government's ham-fisted attempts to close the DC WWII Memorial, an open-air public monument that is normally accessible 24 hours a day. By accessible I mean, you walk up to it. When you have finished reflecting, you then walk away from it.

At least that Memorial is an actual structure, with some kind of perimeter that can be fenced off. Florida Bay is the ocean. How, pray tell, do you "close" 1,100 square miles of ocean? Why would one even need to do so?

Apparently, according to an anonymous Park Service ranger, “We’ve been told to make life as difficult for people as we can. It’s disgusting.”

Centuries ago, King Canute famously failed to command the ocean tide to stop. His display was actually a means to educate his subjects on the limits of royal power. Today, however, our President actually believes he has the power to control the oceans.

  3. SWEET !!!!

Let throw a saddle on the dam thing and ride it.

Sounds like a RC Plane running wide open. Easy to bring it down with a BOLO. What a waste of money. It'll run out of gas before long. Great entertainment to say the least! Looks like HollyWood to me. Can you imagine that thing running down main street? No match for a F150. What a farce.

  4. Adam, Respect to ya Brother. Not sure if you posted to me or Divemaster. Slay says the UN needs to stay the hell out of our business. I'm not knocking the Government whatsoever. Hell, I worked for them all my life. The current Administration? Different story. Worst in US History. The President of color was supposed to unite the Country. What the crap happened? Our current administration is a damn joke with nothing in mind but a vacation.

Kerry signs UN arms treaty, senators threaten to block it

Sept. 24, 2013: President Obama walks past Secretary of State John Kerry during a meeting at U.N. headquarters in New York.AP

Secretary of State John Kerry on Wednesday signed a controversial U.N. treaty on arms regulation, riling U.S. lawmakers who vow the Senate will not ratify the agreement.

As he signed the document, Kerry called the treaty a "significant step" in addressing illegal gun sales, while claiming it would also protect gun rights.

"This is about keeping weapons out of the hands of terrorists and rogue actors. This is about reducing the risk of international transfers of conventional arms that will be used to carry out the world's worst crimes. This is about keeping Americans safe and keeping America strong," he said. "This treaty will not diminish anyone's freedom. In fact, the treaty recognizes the freedom of both individuals and states to obtain, possess, and use arms for legitimate purposes."

U.S. lawmakers, though, have long claimed the treaty could lead to new gun control measures. They note the U.S. Senate has final say on whether to approve the agreement.

Sen. Bob Corker, R-Tenn., in a letter to President Obama, urged his administration not to take any action to implement the treaty without the consent of the Senate.

He claimed the treaty raises "fundamental issues" concerning "individual rights protected by the Second Amendment of the United States Constitution."

The National Rifle Association blasted the plan, claiming it would impose an "invasive registration scheme" by requiring importing countries to give exporting countries information on "end users."

"The Obama administration is once again demonstrating its contempt for our fundamental, individual Right to Keep and Bear Arms," Chris Cox, executive director of the NRA's Institute for Legislative Action, said in a statement. "These are blatant attacks on the constitutional rights and liberties of every law-abiding American. The NRA will continue to fight this assault on our fundamental freedom."

Sen. Jim Inhofe, R-Okla., one of the most vocal opponents of the treaty, also sent a letter to Kerry declaring the treaty "dead in the water," since a majority of senators has gone on record against the agreement.

"The administration is wasting precious time trying to sign away our laws to the global community and unelected U.N. bureaucrats," he wrote.

Kerry, who is in New York attending the U.N. General Assembly session, announced earlier this year that the administration planned to sign the treaty.

The treaty would require countries that ratify it to establish national regulations to control the transfer of conventional arms and components and to regulate arms brokers, but it will not explicitly control the domestic use of weapons in any country.

Still, gun-rights supporters on Capitol Hill warn the treaty could be used as the basis for additional gun regulations inside the U.S. and have threatened not to ratify.

Over the summer, 130 members of Congress signed a letter to President Obama and Kerry urging them to reject the measure for this and other reasons.

The chance of adoption by the U.S. is slim. A two-thirds majority would be needed in the Senate to ratify.

What impact the treaty will have in curbing the estimated $60 billion global arms trade remains to be seen. The U.N. treaty will take effect after 50 countries ratify it, and a lot will depend on which ones ratify and which ones don't, and how stringently it is implemented.

The Control Arms Coalition, which includes hundreds of non-governmental organizations in more than 100 countries that promoted an Arms Trade Treaty, has said it expects many of the world's top arms exporters -- including Britain, Germany and France -- to sign alongside emerging exporters such as Brazil and Mexico. It said the United States is expected to sign later this year.

The coalition notes that more than 500,000 people are killed by armed violence every year and predicted that "history will be made" when many U.N. members sign the treaty, which it says is designed "to protect millions living in daily fear of armed violence and at risk of rape, assault, displacement and death."

Many violence-wracked countries, including Congo and South Sudan, are also expected to sign. The coalition said their signature -- and ratification -- will make it more difficult for illicit arms to cross borders.

The treaty covers battle tanks, armored combat vehicles, large-caliber artillery systems, combat aircraft, attack helicopters, warships, missiles and missile launchers, and small arms and light weapons.

It prohibits states that ratify it from transferring conventional weapons if they violate arms embargoes or if they promote acts of genocide, crimes against humanity or war crimes. The treaty also prohibits the export of conventional arms if they could be used in attacks on civilians or civilian buildings such as schools and hospitals.

In addition, the treaty requires countries to take measures to prevent the diversion of conventional weapons to the illicit market. This is among the provisions that gun-rights supporters in Congress are concerned about.

We've been previously warned that the likes of this would happen. No one seems to listen. Now it's real. We are being taken over little by little by the same folks our forefathers fought against when America came to be. If there's a buck in it. Kerry is all over it. They'll quietly push this crap and soon your're kids and and grand kids will suffer for it. There is no UNITED NATIONS! Analyze United. ALL BS! In order to control, you must disarm! There's your UN. Kerry is all over it since he lost every ounce of credibility he ever earned over the Syria crisis. What a jerk! Pay attention people, this is not good. Even Hillarious left it alone.

  6. A man wakes up one morning in Alaska to find a bear on his roof.

He looks in the yellow pages and sure enough, there's an ad for "Bear Removers."

He calls the number and the bear remover says he'll be over in 30 minutes.

The bear remover arrives and gets out of his van. He's got a ladder, a baseball bat, a shotgun and a mean old pit bull.

"What are you going to do," the homeowner asks?

"I'm going to put this ladder up against the roof, then I'm going to go up there and knock the bear off the roof with this baseball bat. When the bear falls off, the pit bull is trained to grab his testicles and not let go.  The bear will then be subdued enough for me to put him in the cage in the back of the van."

He hands the shotgun to the homeowner.

"What's the shotgun for?" asks the homeowner.

"If the bear knocks me off the roof, shoot the dog."

  7. On their wedding night, the young bride approached her new husband and asked for $20.00 for their first lovemaking encounter.

In his highly aroused state, her husband readily agreed.

This scenario was repeated each time they made love, for more than 40 years, with him thinking that it was a cute way for her to afford new clothes and other incidentals that she needed.

Arriving home around noon one day, she was surprised to find her husband in a very drunken state.

During the next few minutes, he explained that his employer was going through a process of corporate downsizing, and he had been let go.

It was unlikely that, at the age of 59, he'd be able to find another position that paid anywhere near what he'd been earning, and therefore, they were financially ruined.

Calmly, his wife handed him a bank book which showed more than forty years of steady deposits and interest totaling
    nearly $1 million.

Then she showed him certificates of deposits issued by the bank which was worth over $2 million, and informed him that they were one of the largest depositors in the bank.

She explained that for more than three decades she had 'charged' him for sex, these holdings had multiplied and these were the results of her savings and investments.

Faced with evidence of cash and investments worth over $3 million, her husband was so astounded he could barely speak, but finally he found his voice and blurted out,
If I'd had any idea what you were doing, I would have given you all my business!'

That's when she shot him. :P

  8. Ed and Linda met while on a singles cruise and Ed fell head over heels for her.

When they discovered they lived in the same city only a few miles apart Ed was ecstatic.

He immediately started asking her out when they got home.

Within a couple of weeks, Ed had taken Linda to dance clubs, restaurants, concerts, movies, and museums.

Ed became convinced that Linda was indeed his soul mate and true love.

Every date seemed better than the last.

On the one-month anniversary of their first dinner on the cruise ship.Ed took Linda to a fine restaurant.

While having cocktails and waiting for their salad, Ed said, "I guess you can tell I'm very much in love with you. I'd like a little serious talk before our relationship continues to the next stage. So, before I get a box out of my jacket and ask you a life changing question, it's only fair to warn you.

I'm a total golf nut. I play golf, I read about golf, I watch golf on TV. In short, I eat, sleep, and breathe golf. If that's going to be a problem for us, you should say so now!"

Linda took a deep breath and responded, "Ed, that certainly won't be a problem. I love you as you are and I love golf too; but, since we're being totally honest with each other, you need to know that for the last five years I've been a hooker."

Ed said, "I bet it's because you're not keeping your wrists straight when you hit the ball.

THE STOCK MARKET LOST 2 BILLION DOLLARS IN 1 SECOND ON NEWS THAT THE O WAS INJURED IN A BLAST AT THE WH. THE SAME COMPUTERS THAT MONITOR EVERY KEYSTROKE YOU HIT! CARNEY SAY'S IT'S BULL****. I BELIEVE HIM. IT WAS A TEST. WHO IS ACTUALLY IN CONTROL? As stated, replies should be respectful. For now, we have our rights. Slay.

  10. My miracle came to me today....I visited my oncologist this morning, it was my 5th year follow up with her.  She went over all my test work, from lab, ultra-sound and mammogram.  Then she looked at me, smiled, and said, that I was now....drum roll please...."Cancer free."  At first it didn't register, then the tears started flowing.  I couldn't thank her enough for all that she's done to help me get through this journey.  She said that today "God has been so good to a lot of her patients, and was so glad that I was another, on his list" She knows some will fall to this decease, but she keeps God in her plans to help her cope with her patients. She said she prays for each and everyone that is inflicted with this deceased, that they may find peace.

She was great in letting me go, and begin another chapter in my life.

God sent me adversities through this journey...grief, hardships, bodily pain, discomfort, mental or spiritual suffering, anxiety, annoyance and disappointment.  Not once did I feel alone, never felt deserted. He was at my side 24/7.

Through these adversities, my fault's were revealed, I found myself more distant from Christ then I ever knew.  They awaken my heart to His love for me, so that I may gain greater glory in heaven. So you see, I see these adversities as a gift.  They have humbled me, given me patience, faith, and hope.  Most importantly, brought me even closer to God. God is good, God is great....God is Love.

I will give praise and glory to my Father in Heaven. I will give thanks to Jesus Christ for my DV family.  You have all been awesome through my journey.  Your support and prayers gave me strength and courage, when I felt I couldn't take another day, you were there.  Your rewards will be many in heaven.

Sometimes one word can say a thousand things.  My word for you all is "Love" thank you for sharing it through the cyber waves.

May God Bless each one of you and hold you close to His heart.

    Patty

Bless you dear Lady, I'm so very happy for you!! Slay.

  11. Hillbilly Mirror

After living in Kentucky all his life, an old hillbilly
decided it was time to visit the big city .

In one of the stores he picks up a mirror and looks in it.
Not ever having seen one before, he remarked at the image
staring back at him, “How about that! Here's a
    picture of my daddy.”

He bought the mirror thinking it was a picture of his
daddy, but on the way home he remembered his wife didn't
like his father, so he hung it in the barn, and every
morning before leaving for the fields, he would go there and
    look at it.

His wife began to get suspicious of these many trips to the
barn. One day after her husband left, she searched the barn
    and found the mirror.

As she looked into the glass, she fumed, “So that's
    the ugly ***** he's runnin' around with .” :D
     lOVE THEM GIRLS!

What the hell are you people thinking? DHS, FBI, look like idiots, who's world you saving? I pay major taxes!, I expect some damn results! 50,000 for the bomber, 1,000,000 for the LA killer? Cop no less. Hmmmmmmm. Still, No one knows. That's the scary part. Time will tell. When you have two dogs and one  pisses on the carpet, punish them both. You got the right one, right.
