Based on my review of Can regulations, your gain will be taxed as a Capital Gain applicable to the province in which you live. In short 50% will be taxed at your top tax rate for the year that you claim the income. What I have done is purchase fuuther dinar to cover the potential tax. Of course you are freed to follow Adam to an offshore position. Mythyme
