  1. I think this screen name is nothing short of funny. I see a picture of a civil war confederate officer, a person who fought for the right to keep blacks as slaves, and text that sound like the words of a black female. I can almost see that little head shake thing as I read. Ummm Hmmm. Does this strike anyone else as just a bit odd?

First, why do you think the picture is of a civil war vet? There is nothing in the picture indicating that and I don't believe they had sport gloves in 1865. This is a picture of an archer who happens to be wearing sport gloves for his sport. Look at it closer. :)

Second, how do you attach the words "Satan has weird dreams... Umm...Hmm..." to a "black female"?

  2. I'll be 69 in September and I've never "quit" on anything. ;)

When you quit that means you give up - and you will never achieve your goals!

Very poor role model for all our younger folks. :)

My GrandMother never quit, my Father never quit, my Mother never quit, and my husband never quit.

If you give up on your dreams, life really sucks!

So, all you dinarians that are thinking about quiting, step back and review how you will feel if you quit

and the RV happens, this month or later this year, or maybe next year. Will you regret that you didn't

hang on a little longer

Wrong - this is not the forex site. It is simply a site set up to resemble one. This guy has registered a domain name with the word "forex" in and is offering to mentor anyone interested in forex. Has nothing to do with credibility at all. 8. (Reuters) - The creation of a new Iraqi National Oil Company to run the OPEC member's energy sector is not essential and might confuse the work of the oil ministry, Iraq's oil minister said on Sunday.

Iraq's cabinet approved a draft law setting up a new national oil company in 2009, but the legislation has languished amid political turmoil and a change of government in the war-battered nation.

"If this law was passed, then I ask 'What would it add to Iraq's oil sector?' I say nothing," Oil Minister Abdul-Kareem Luaibi said in an address to parliament's oil and energy committee. "Our companies are doing the same job. No need for establishing this company."

The long-awaited creation of the Iraqi National Oil Company (INOC), which would revive a state-run firm established in the 1960s and merged into the Iraqi Oil Ministry in 1987, had been a central plank of Iraq's plan to turn around its struggling oil sector to take advantage of its vast mineral wealth.

A package of legislation including a modern hydrocarbons law, a revenue-sharing law and a law to restructure the oil ministry has sparked fierce debate and disagreement between political parties for years.

The semi-autonomous northern Kurdish region has been moving aggressively to develop oil and gas reserves in its territory, clashing with the central government over who has the authority to sign oil contracts.

Amendments to the draft oil law are being reviewed by the cabinet's energy committee before it refers the legislation to parliament.

Luaibi criticized the duties of INOC described in the draft bill, which include entering into exploration, drilling, development and production contracts, as well as contracts for shipping oil and gas.

"If we have two organisations with the job of marketing oil, then this will definitely create problems," he said.

Thamir Ghadhban, the top energy adviser to Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki, defended the bill and said reviving INOC was vital for the development of the energy sector.

"The establishment of an independent National Oil Company is very essential to develop Iraq's energy sector, with the oil ministry to ... formulate oil policy," Ghadhban said.

  9. If you look at the green one in front you will notice that it is a 10000 note and not a 10, so that tells me that someone removed the zero's on the front but they couldn't remove them on the back.

The picture is from a VIP member and the purpose was to become "dinarified". VIPs were asked to take a picture of their dinars against their profile page and submit it. That's how members got the "Verified" badge beneath their names. It's to show that we are actually invested and not just trolling and agitating the other members. This member just included the extra Libyan dinars in the back. The dinars in the front are IQD and that's all that was needed. :)

  10. Last I heard there was this Kurdish artist who was developing an entire range of Kurdish currency because he hoped one day that Kurdistan would have complete independence. There is no Independent nation of Kurdistan so his efforts are basically for shytes and giggles.

Thats right K98 here is the articleNiqash

niqash | Yahia al Barzanji | thu 14 apr 11

Politicians have dismissed the idea of an independent Kurdistan. But one Kurdish currency designer is not deterred: He’s invented the kuro, currency for a nation he thinks must be established one day.

Watching the images that flicker up onto Asso Mamzade’s computer screen, one would be forgiven for thinking that there already was a Kurdish nation, an independent country, recognized by the international community with its own central bank and currency. And no longer just a semi-autonomous region and federal state of Iraq.

Mamzade is 28 years old, originally from Bukan, a small mostly Kurdish city in Iranian Kurdistan; he moved to the city of Erbil in Iraqi Kurdistan seven years ago. And his desire is to come up with a genuine Kurdish currency, one that will be used, he said, when Kurdistan becomes a reality.

Mamzade has been working on this project - the “kuro” - for ten years now. The name of his as-yet-unused currency has nothing to do with the euro though, he explained. He had discussed the name with experts in Kurdish culture and history and had decided on kuro because “it was one of the names given to Kurds a long time ago.”

“And one day, it will be just as important as the euro,” he told NIQASH enthusiastically.

When Mamzade first started designing his Kurdish currency, he worked by hand. He still works in a room filled with sketches of coins and bank notes though now he mostly works on a computer. The process has also involved much research: Mamzade has studied Kurdish history and culture in depth and incorporated historical elements that go back as far as 700BC.

So far Mamzade has three kinds of currency ready for the printing press, should the time ever come that they are needed: 100, 500 and 2,000 kuro notes proudly boasting that they were printed by the currently non-existent “Central Bank of the Kurdistan Republic”.

The notes feature Kurdish figures such as 14th century poet and historian Sharaf al-Din Bitlisi and the president of the first, short lived Kurdish republic of 1945, Qazi Muhammad, as well as Kurdish nationalist leader and politician, Mustafa al-Barzani, who also happens to the father of the current president of Iraqi Kurdistan, Masoud al-Barzani. The other sides of the notes feature fishing, fighting and horse drawn carriages along with various important military events. The colours of the Kurdish flag in Iraq – red, white, green and gold - also have a special place on Mamzade’s banknotes.

The remaining denominations of notes, that have yet to be designed, will have a similarly patriotic bent and feature further important Kurdish figures, Mamzade said.

Despite the fact that he has sent samples of his work to representatives of local Kurdish government and not a single important official in the region has shown even the slightest interest in his work, Mamzade is determined to complete the task. “There are still many other paper notes needed and I'm currently working on producing them,” he told NIQASH. “But I need financial and moral support.”

So far though, he’s had just the opposite. “The manager of a senior official’s office in the Kurdistan region of Iraq asked me why I was even bothering, that Kurdistan is not a nation and that no one will ever make use of these currency designs! But I will continue with my work,” Mamzade said, “even though officials do not encourage me to do so.”

Then again it hardly comes as a surprise that state officials wouldn’t be encouraging. Iraqi Kurdistan is one of the only parts of what is often called “greater Kurdistan” that is spread throughout Turkey, Syria, Iraq and Iran, to have an independent government. And despite their relative independence, Kurdish officials have continually expressed their commitment to Iraq, saying that the Kurdish state is part of the nation.

On the other hand, many political analysts say that the Kurdish region already has everything it needs to become an independent nation: a flag, a language and a shared history. Not to mention, military forces, two international airports and huge quantities of oil.

Mamzade considers this reason enough to continue with his currency design project. So what if Iraq’s president, Jalal al-Talabani, who is also Kurdish, has said that an independent Kurdish state is “a joke” right now. And who cares that the president of Iraqi Kurdistan, al-Barzani, has continued to emphasize a desire to remain part of federal Iraq. Mamzade will not be deterred.

“My ten years of effort will not be in vain. There is a Kurdish state on the horizon. And everything should be ready beforehand, everyone should do their bit,” he told NIQASH. “This is the kuro currency, this is the currency of the Kurdish nation.”

This will only happen is Kurdistan becomes a State.

  11. Don't deal in rumors but, for you folks that don't live in Texas and frequent the Wal-Mart stores, First Convenience Bank is the bank in almost every Wal-Mart.

I stopped at the one in Sulphur Springs a few months ago and asked the guy behind the counter if they did foreign currency. He said sure. The he asked me if I was talking about the Iraq Dinar and I said yes. He said we can order them for you, it will take a few days to get them but no problem. So I asked if they would buy them back if I decided to sell my dinars and he said sure. :o

Didn't ask him the spread or what they were selling them for; just thought it was weird that I could have bought my dinar in a Wal-Mart store instead of DinarTrade.

  13. The way I see this is that we will wake up 01/01/12 and it really will be a new year. But the reality is that the USA will be in a civil war. People are loosing everything to the rich and what happens when they just get fed up? Oh yeah they call it CIVIL WAR! <_<:blink:

Excuse me, what are us poor people losing to the rich? Without the "rich", there would be no jobs for the poor. Currently we are a nation of unemployed but that is not the "rich" people's fault. They did not grind the economy to a screeching halt - it does not put money in their bank accounts for their businesses to shut down. I'm just an old woman but I have been responsible for my families finances for the last 50+ years and anyone with a brain knows that when you are out of money, you stop spending! AND our constitution does not say that the federal government should take care of everyone from cradle to grave or that our borders should be thrown open to every illegal immigrant that wishes to enter and take advantage of our taxpayer funded, health, education, and welfare.

Stepping down from my soapbox now - and I apologize if anyone is offended - sometimes you just have to speak your mind (especially at my age!).:hug::blush:

  14. Websites go down for many reasons, server issues, upgrades, upload changes, problems at the data center that houses the server, and lack of bandwidth.

The reason for the downtime can usually be determined by the error message but not always.

It probably has not been hacked because hackers are so full of ego, they have to leave a "calling card" and that is real easy to spot.

Below is the source code and if you know anything about web design, you can see that this rate is NOT pulled from an official currency exchange or monitoring site. It is pure html code.

Not sure if its reading that way on Netdania or ForexPros..

    Just wanted to share.

  17. All Iraqi Dinar Owners and Interested Investors,

We have cut through years of chaff with the release of the announcement below. Now we can finally take a look at the quality of the wheat that is left and more accurately determine the risk and reward of what lies ahead. Anyone who owns the dinar in an Iraqi commercial bank account including the AMIRAQ Fund should not be unhappy. The dinars chances now to reach the previously recorded highs just increased by the thousands and most everyone I know in the dinar is positioned to triple their investment after fees.

I don’t see anything but a very well planned and executed move on the part of the Iraqis. With the dinar entering the world’s mainstream foreign exchanges at the price of $1.00, it is almost celebrity due to so much global interest. This is a big step towards gaining international respect for achievement and credibility for the awesome resources, if managed properly, that will insure a great future. Iraq will probably be a powerhouse in their area of the world in the years ahead.

In summary, the dinar is a different investment now. For me, under current conditions at these prices, the dinar is now a very comfortable speculation. With a previously recorded high of $3.48, I think it very reasonable to expect the dinar to reach $3.00. This represents almost triple my investment, net of fees!!! I’ll close by asking, When was the last time your net return was almost 3 times your investment? Reality has finally arrived for the Dinar. Don’t walk away now.

    Best ,

    David http://iqd.me/l/11

As a long term internet marketer, my first question would be how this person obtained your email address? Next question, what websites have you signed up and used this email address?

If DV is the only "dinar" site that you used this specific email address then I would be concerned about the security of our personal information at DV. I am sure Adam did not authorize access to his membership's email address for this person. However, if you are a member of some of the other dinar forums, then it is quite possible your address was obtained from one of them. Some of the other sites (not all) are not nearly as concerned with integrity in their business dealings. :twocents:

  18. Hi

Now that this is getting close, I am thinking about gifting some dinars to my son, before they RV.

I know I need to get it notarized.

    Does any one know?

Is there a "form letter" around, or if I just put one together, any thoughts on how to word it to be legally correct? He'll need to take it to the bank with him when he cashes in to show the date and how he received them.

Do I bring the dinars with me to the notary?

Does my son have to be with me at the notary?

I figure I better do this tomorrow, so if any can give me some imput it would be appreciated.

By the way, the people on this site are awesome. I have learned so much, still learning, from Adam and you guys. Thanks! :D

It looks like you are a VIP. If so, all of your questions are answered in the VIP section. Look in the Pinned Topics.
