  1. It's a little hard to blame Obama for the economic depression when the economy augered into the ground during Bush's watch....remember during the campaign McCain said he was going back to Washington to work on the problem then changed his mind?

People blame Obama, because all he does is talk talk talk and blame Bush for all these mistakes.

This debate often goes into how republicans ruined the economy and democrats are for the people.

I personally did not vote for Obama because

    1. He has no real life experience.

    2. He has never "worked" in his life.

    3. He talks the talk, but never walks.

Let me give you a brief history lesson.

In 1977 Jmmy Carter (D) signed the Community Reinvestment Act, guaranteeing homes loans to low-income families

In 1999 Bill Clinton (D) puts the CRA on steroids by pushing Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac to increase the number of sub-prime loans "Everyone should own a home!!" (even if you can't afford it right?)

September of 1999: New York Times publishes an article "Fannie Mae Eases Credit To Aid Mortgage Lending" which was a clear warning sign of the coming crisis due to lax lending policies of the Clinton (D) administration.

In 2003 The White House calls Fannie and Freddie a 'systemic risk" BUSH administration pushes Congress to enact new regulations.

In 2003 Barney Frank (D) says Fannie and Freddie are 'not in a crisis" and slams Republicans for crying wolf and calls F&F "Financially Sound" Dems deny the Republican sponsored regulation legislation.

In 2005 The Fed Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan voices warning over Fannie and Freddie accounting "We are placing the total financial system of the future at a substantial risk"

In 2005 Senate Charles Schumer (D) says "I think Fannie and Freddie over the years have done an incredible job and are an intrinsic part of making America the best-housed people in the world today"

In 2006 Senator John McCain ® again calls for reform of the regulatory structure that governs Fannie and Freddie, because it was clear that it would be disastrous.

In 2006 The Democrats again block reform legislation

In 2008 The Housing market collapses and Democrats blame the Republicans!

So please explain to me, why do people still blame Bush and the repubs? Obama quadrupled our debt, spent 800 billion in a stimulus plan that created 0 jobs.

Obama continues to blame Republican for the financial meltdown, which is just not true. All the sheeps that only follow fox news are the ones that are going yeah, everything is Bush's fault.

See the history there? no rumor, just FACTS.

Real unemployment rate is probably close to 25-30% right now. The stats provided by the government does not include those who fell off the UI benefits, those who are working 10 hours on minimum wage, and etc.

We have a history record defecit, history record foreclosures, history record poverty levels, soon to be history record gas prices. We have these situations at hand and all Obama wants to do is his "obamacare" which will make the insurance giants richer at the stake of the working population. This not only limits our freedom to NOT participate in an insurance program but it also cost more for those who are already paying high taxes.

There are too many things this man did to not only humiliate our country but now we are headed for a 3rd world nation.

I can go all day but I will stop here.

  2. Gotta draw the line on this one. Really? Jesus' time was more hospitable? Might want to go recheck the bible on that one.

Regarding the rest of your post, I want to express my concern with what you refer to as "bashing" every time someone calls RV and it ends up being another pumper, dumper or some other person posing as someone who knows something when they truly don't. For instance, your remark regarding that you think it is going to happen tomorrow night with the State of the Union address. I would love nothing more than for that to be the case but I think the problem here is grounding this type of rumor with any sort of reality. The hard, cold truth is that we don't know when, or even if the RV is going to happen. There are so many of us on this board who could use the RV and many more on the board who desperately need an RV for the reasons you put forth, but what are you going to do if it doesn't happen?

I want to be compassionate to how dire the situation is for many Americans but this isn't something an RV is going to fix. We have some real problems here at home and we keep sweeping them under the rug. Why are businesses closing left and right while we are in the middle of a recovery? Why is unemployment still nearly at 10% nationally and higher regionally in many areas? Why can't our kids read after they graduate high school and sometimes even college? Why? Because we keep looking the other way and we keep waiting for the 'Big Payoff' to come and rescue us from the situation we have created. The reality, something we have long forgotten, is that we have to work incrementally toward the future. It has become a world of immediacy where CEO's get fired if they don't return a bottom-line profit in a quarter even if it would mean greater profits down the road.

I am a business owner and I haven't taken a payment from my company for more than 6 months even though I pay all of my employees so they can put food on the table for their families. I am a believer in the long haul and will do everything I can to make sure I invest in my children and in my country, but I feel sometimes that it is a losing battle. I have been blessed with the ability to hold my head above water for now but who knows. I don't know if I can survive this 'Recovery' much longer. What really chaps me though is when people whine about how difficult it is but they do nothing about it. If you want to be in a different place in 6 months then start being proactive and stop waiting around for things like this to happen. Take one small step to opening your own business or creating another type of income. Home businesses are rampant these days.

This country was founded in the belief in God and a greater good. We were pioneers and we stood up for what we believe in which used to be honesty, decency and caring for other people, even if we did not have two nickels to rub together. IMHO we lost that spirit long ago and are so entrenched in the world of 'What's in it for me?" that I don't know if we will ever make it back. At what point did we lose the ability to be the greatest nation on the planet and become a group of self-serving individuals?

This board is a perfect example of individuals coming together and collectively sharing ideas and thoughts regarding a financial opportunity which IS speculation in its truest form. This is not an income opportunity that you should hang your hat on but more like a lottery with odds greatly stacked in our favor. I value the knowledge and information I find here and I have not met a finer group of people, including yourself, who share their opinions. I completely do not respect the pumpers, bashers and ill-informed who come here to waste time and instigate trouble for the group as a whole. I learn something new every day and appreciate that I have eyes and eyesight to read. I thank God that my family is healthy.

As for not being able to pay the monthly bills, I have been there and my heart goes out to you. Most of us have been there. It is a trying time but one that you will get through. I am not bashing you when I say that you should not depend on the RV as it is still a gamble. Nobody knows when it will happen. I have faith it will eventually, but nobody knows when. Be smart about it though and don't wait on the RV.

By the way, Jesus had no issue with washing the feet of his disciples because he was humble and had a servant's heart in a time where those he served would betray him and he would die on the cross with thorns in his head, nails in his hands and feet. Not sure if I would call that hospitable.

Well said my friend, well said.

I said it in another post, but it is a poor business decision to depend on the RV for income purpose or for your future survival.

It's an investment, a speculative one at that.

  3. I feel your concerns but you should not bank on this RV, so you can continue a comfortable life.

I would love more than anything for this RV to happen, but this is an investment which contains risk.

I do not have a safe job either, although my income is more than sufficient enough to pay bills, go out to eat, and enjoy life..it does not come easy.

I work in a comissioned job, which means I can work 80 hours a week and come home with $0.00, do you know what that feels like?

I'm not knocking you as I know what desperation feels like. But to bank on this investment as your safety net is like banking on social security for your retirement, it's a poor decision.

I blamed nobody when I was in a rut, I can only blame myself. When I was out of a job for a year, I sold-off many things, worked 3 different jobs that paid minimum hourly-wage. It was absolute hell for me, but these times are what made me a stronger person. All I can think of was Why did I take on debt that I cannot afford if sh*t hit the fan? Why did I have to buy that TV? Why did I sign up for cable services? Why did I buy lunch everyday? why why why?

It's all about living within your means. This year I budged myself so I can pay off all of my credit card debt, and I paid almost everything off already. I just had to cut out starbucks coffee, had to spend more time cooking, didn't go out to the bars, and just stayed home for the most part.

I'm not trying to be cold, critical, and mean. I'm just being real with you. My only advice would be that you do not bank on this RV for your income purpose because it's an investment, a speculative one at that.

  4. you're absolutely correct. South Korea is a wealthy country, and the won would seem "worthless" to dollars but it's their means of measurement.

RV does not need to happen, why can't 1000 dinar = $1? it's not very different from 1200 won = $1.

I come off as negative sometimes, but only to those with extreme high hopes. I believe, dinar will appreciate in value, but certaintly not by 4000% over night like some people are expecting on this board.

This will be a slow, and steady process once Iraq has their sh*t together.

One thing I learned about life is there are no short cuts to being rich or successful, unless you are born into it.

Also don't expect too much from ANYTHING in life, or you will be majorly disappointed.

  5. Dokieman was able to join a second meeting with the disciples and their leader Leaky Frank again.

12 Disciples sat around a round table, with RV engraved in the middle. Their cloaks, made of fine silk with RV stitched onto their cape. Their ring, made of pure gold shined RV as they sat around the table.

[Leaky Frank]: Ladies and Gentlemen, now that RV is over and done with, we plan to release this news 4pm EST.

    [Disciples]: Amen.

[Leaky Frank]: What are your opinions on this matter? Would this cause chaos? *smirk*

[Disciple 3]: Sir, we 4PM would be too quick to make the call, we must let the diplomats and the rest of the world leaders convert their currencies first.

[Disciple 8]: I agree with 3, the rest of the world is not ready for this kind of news, all the new wealth that would be created will cause chaos and disruptions in the economy.

[Leaky Frank]: Well my masters are awaiting for our advice, and we must come to a decision within the next hour. I've already spoken with Bush and Hillarious, they will be sending a few agents to convert theirs over the weekend. Obama is also wanting to trade to ease the relationship with China.

[Dokieman]: Am I really allowed to listen to this?

**The entire round table stares at Dokieman**

[Leaky Frank]: You must speak no more about this or you will trade this secret with your life. For now, I will advise our counsel to hold off on the news of RV. We will postpone it until next week and give a steady incline in the upcoming weeks. You are all dismissed.

**The 12 cloaked disciples disappear into the darkness**

That is all. Let's all thank Dokieman for his kindness.

  8. Thanks Heavy duty, I don't let anyone get to me. I think this stuff is fun, so I post things like this for us all to enjoy and banter about. At the end of the day I know Terry k is probably off, but I hope he gets it right one of these times!

It's hard not to be right one day if everyday TK says it's going to happen. I can tell you, you will fall down one day, everyday for the rest of your life, I'll be right one day too!

  9. I agree with the OP on many points he made. I've read the forums for a while, and people really don't like to hear any sort of negativity (I call realistic).

Someone has mentioned these intel at retail bank branches. Let me tell you something, people at the retail bank do not know ANYTHING period.

No offence to anyone working at the branch level, but in the world of finance, branch banking is the lowest of the totem pole. And do you honestly think an information of this magnitude will some how reach a branch manager? or a teller? come on now...

RV is likely inevitable, but as someone mentioned above me, it all depends on the stability of their economy and government.

  10. It's not neccessarily a currency rate. The site is very vague and my knowledge of Kuwait is very limited so I can't say much.

But if they are rates for Treasury Bills/Notes/Bonds, they are government issued debt securities, meaning investment opportunities for citizens of Kuwait.

It's probably not much different than bills, notes and bonds in USA, where you become a lender to the government and the government will pay you interest payments in return.

Now that I carefully look at it, I'm certain they are rates for government issues since treasury bills does not issue 9 month notes, and I guess the same rules apply in Kuwait.
